  1. I'm on Goffin on the outright at big odds but I won't be trading out yet. I agree with you Killerkat, I think he has a great chance v Thiem. He holds a winning head-to-head and if you take out the retirement he's only lost to Thiem twice, both times on clay. It might be the faster conditions here will favour him so I see him progressing to the quarters at least.

Also noticed a big drift on Murray in the outright today on betfair, out to 2.16. That looks huge to me (4/5, 5/6 with the books) so I've had more on (I'm already on him). Don't see whats behind the drift, the injury concern was put to bed in his last match.

  2. Kukushkin is a huge price at 5/1 to beat Monfils at Halle tomorrow. I can only think Monfils price is based on his recent run to the semi at Stuttgart. But he only won 2 matches and remains vulnerable on grass. He has frequently expressed his dislike of it, and he's already lost to Kukushkin. Only played the once but it wasn't long ago and I see no reason why the Kazak can't beat him here. Kukushkin to beat Monfils at 5/1 (generally)

  3. Re: FA Cup Replays > March 16th - April 8th Blackburn v Liverpool Liverpool are without Steven Gerrard, Martin Skrtel and Emre Can for their FA Cup quarter-final replay at Blackburn Rovers. While Blackburn are missing the injured trio of Jason Lowe, Shane Duffy and Chris Taylor. Liverpool's season is in serious danger of imploding after recent defeats in the league which almost certainly kills off their top 4 ambitions, and now face a cup replay against a dogged Blackburn side, after failing to beat them in the first match at Anfield. Blackburn fully deserved their draw in that match and now have home advantage and the assistance of a poor pitch, something Liverpool players won't enjoy too much. While Blackburn's own league form has also been poor of late, they are much more of a cup side and have an impressive record against Prem sides. I think its a good time to be playing Liverpool who are under huge pressure to get to Wembley and 1.67 for Liverpool looks very short to me. LAY Liverpool at 1.67 (on betfair)

  4. Re: March 30 - April 5 I'm all over Isner at that price. Looks a bad match up for Raonic who hasn't won a set in 4 yet. Okay 3 of them were tie breaks which you'd expect, but Isner won them all. Match stats tell a lot as well - Raonic faced far more break points v Isner than the other way round. Prices should be much closer.

  5. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday March 19th Actually I share you confidence in Besiktas. A 1-0 win will see them through here and they have seen off much better sides than Club Brughes (Liverpool etc). I can't see the Belgians getting a result in Turkey. Match reports suggest Besiktas were comfortable in the away leg until the latter part of the match. Now with 70,000 mental home fans in this cauldron behind them, I expect Besiktas to finish them off. I've layed Brugges at 10/3 but my main bet is on Besiktas DNB at 1/2

  6. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday March 12th Brugge may have a good home record domestically but I can't have them so short versus an experienced and streetwise Besiktas side. The Turks have played well against better opponents (Liverpool for example) and I think they can get something from the Belgians here. LAY Club Brugge at 11/10 (bfair)

  7. Re: Australian Open 2015 Good luck CzechPunter but I really hope you're wrong about this one.;) I'm having my biggest bet for nearly 2 years on Serena at 4/9. That looks much to big, I make her a 1/3 shot given the dominance she has over Maria. H2H is sometimes overestimated in tennis, but in some instances justified. I think its hugely important with these two because of the number of times they've played and the time span - no wins for Sharapova in almost 11 years.

  8. Re: Australian Open 2015 Men's semi-final : Djokovic v Wawrinka Having backed Djokovic in the outright, the player I feared most in the draw (other than Federer) was Wawrinka. He's the reigning champion and that win over Djokovic will have given him huge confidence. He's playing well here and he will fancy it. I still believe Djokovic will prevail but he'll have to up his game and I don't see anything other than a close encounter. Djokovic is yet to lose a set but this is his first big test, and this is where he's likely to concede. So the obvous bet for me is LAY Djokovic 3-0 sets, at 2.60 (betfair price).

  9. Re: Australian Open 2015 After a nice Evens fivefold yesterday, I'm going for an Evens fourfold today. Berdych (v Melzer) Anderson (v Berankis) Dimitrov (v Lacko) Federer 3-0 (v Bolelli) I'm always nervous of set betting, so I might swap Fed for something else if I can find a safe looking 1/3 shot or better. Goffin to beat Baghy maybe ? I'll also have a single bet on Karlovic to beat Kyrgios at 4/6. Ivo is playing well and he seems to enjoy playing other big servers.

  10. Re: Serie A TIM > January 17th & 18th Juve v Verona Forget the 6-1 hammering recently. That was a cup match and both sides were 2nd stringers. This will be completely different. I fancy a workmanlike Juve victory, and Juve win to nil appeals at around 4/5 (on betfair). This bet has trapped 11 times already this season, tho not for a while.

  11. Re: Australian Open 2015 Have been looking at 1st round for an accie. I like these 5 K.Anderson (v D Schwarzman) K. Nishikouri (v Almagro) J. Isner (v J Wang) M. Raonic (v Marchenko) L. Hewitt (v Ze Zhang) Just over Evs at boylesports. All very solid looking altho I'm maybe taking a slight chance on Hewitt - he's been knocked out 1st round for last 2 years !! But if he's fit, he must win here. Zhang is out of his depth at this level, surely? Anyone want to talk me out of it?

  12. Re: Scottish Football > December 12th - 14th I like the look of Saints to beat Killie today. Saints have finally found some form after a poor start. It took them a while to adjust to playing without Stevie May - he was a massive player for them. But they're now playing much better, on a decent run and up against a team on a downward spiral. Killie are really low in confidence, losing 5 and winning none of their last 6 games. Saints also have a good record v Killie. Standout bet for me is St Johnstone on the level ball Asian handicap at 1.96 (betfair) This is the same as draw no bet, but the odds surprisingly are more generous for the Asian handicap. DNB is only 1.88

  13. Re: Scottish Football > November 4th - 9th It's a winning strategy this season it seems. If you did the Hearts Rangers double every week, you'd be well up. I don't see it changing much for the rest of the season either, although the prices are now so short now to reflect this. All the talk about a competitive league is nonsense. Hearts and Rangers are miles better than the rest who are of a poor standard, and I include Hibs in there.

  14. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday November 6th

Astra Giurgiu v Celtic Celtic at 1.90 for (draw no bet) is quite good value I feel. They top the group, and even though they played badly at home against Astra they still won 2-1. I don't think Celtic will lose, I am 85% sure they will win the match after looking at the lineup. Worse case scenario for them tonight is a draw, hence the value. You would never get these draw no bet odds if Celtic were playing any other SPL side, and at best I think Astra would be a midtable SPL side. Sort of like Celtic playing away to Kilmarnock or something. Captain Scott Brown is also included in the squad, Celtic are always more attacking and disciplined when he plays, and the very experienced ex premiership goalkeeper Craig Gordon is between the sticks.
Good call, well done. But I don't think you've watched Killie lately ;)
