Re: Stars Million Challenge After the Stars outage I decided to play some Spin again as the games were probably going to be juicy and they are! Managed to hit a 25x multiplier... managed to get sucked out on again A2 > AJ. Think i'm due something like $500 from all the biggest multipliers I hit over the past months to only win once. Must be nice for Russia. I get ddosed by them every time I go deep in the HU tournament and they never lose all-ins. Nice country love those cunts.

Re: Stars Million Challenge Brilliant stories Matrix thanks for sharing, he really is a huge loss to the poker world! Just 7 games played today +$5, and the last 2 games were both 6x multipliers where I got 2 outtered in one and lost a flip HU in the other which just sums it up the last few days. I'm going to knock them on the head for a few days and play some HU Hypers to get some run good flow back. Admittedly my volume is terrible especially considering 20 games is a low benchmark to hit, but I'm in the middle of a very intense Masters degree in IT, so I got a lot going on and just trying to tick over with the poker.

Hey Andy, I think they're worth persisting with so long as you know not to take them too seriously going in.I played 60 of these yesterday...4 at a time...only ever got $30 a few times....as you say feels like plodding along trying to break even and hope to hit a big one...not sure I can be bothered any more as there rally is some terrible beats... -

Re: Stars Million Challenge Just remembered about my Sharky subscription which I forgot automatically renews every 6months and cost $50 a few days ago so I'll be playing some HU hypers too now and again to make up for that! As for the spins, I'll be playing my set later on hoping to break-even..

Also lost HU AK to A9 for a 10x multiplier which is pretty normal - from the spins over the past months think I've only one multiplier above 6x out of 7 or something due mostly to bad beats. Pretty brutal though when these games are all about the big multipliers, the rest of the games are just about plodding along hoping to break-even pretty much.

Will be playing those $5spins over the next few weeks, playing a minimum of 20 games day, targeting a few hundred profit. Let's hope I can bink some big multipliers!

Re: Twitch streams I have mixed feelings about these streams. In the poker world we tend to judge things by how 'good for poker' they are and these streams do gain the industry new and wider exposure so naturally we can see them as good fun. On the other side though I'm not totally comfortable with the platform they're using (Twitch) a site I've been a user of for some years now and have watched hundreds of hours of gamers streaming over that time even subscribing to some. The reason it doesn't sit well with me is that the audience of people who use Twitch are young, immature and extremely impressionable kids and teenagers. I'm sure the stattos at Twitch or in Poker PR will claim there's a decent % of users on Twitch over 18, but that's unreliable as the Internet is a place for lying about your age. So it's not a stretch to say the majority of the audience on Twitch is underage, and yet Poker is being demonstrated on there like it's the norm. People can argue it's the same for streaming 18+ games like GTA5, but it's different imo because there's a common understanding that a game is a game. The danger is putting poker alongside other games is the youngsters think it's just another game with no consequences, and for them to find out otherwise could have very real life consequences - that is my concern. I think it's a debate worth having in the industry anyway :ok

Re: 2015 - Story of a Micro Player (DanShot) It seems like you're often in limbo with what you want from poker, would this be right? I mean your goals often change, your games often change and your motivation is up and down so it does come across like you feel you should be playing more than you actually want to be playing. I say you could find a more content path with poker if you really know what you want from it. If it's just fun then you don't really need to set any challenges but try to maximise your potential when you do play by playing tournaments. Or if you want a steady income then you really have to fully commit on a game that suits your skill set and one that you will enjoy to play even 6months down the line. If you don't really enjoy playing or don't have any ambitions in the game then it would be time to quit, otherwise you're just lighting money on fire.

I've played a few hundred at the 7's and below, the biggest I hit yet was 10x multiplier. They've received a fair amount of criticism for being more like a casino style game but honestly I do like the concept a lot because anyone can hit a big score with very little fuss and they're not straight push-fold gamble games like some perceive. So there's room to play poker, no game selection and chance to win a lot of cash so I can't fault PokerStars too much here.. apart from the rake (as ever). Other complaints are they take away traffic from other games and that includes my own games, but if that's the progression then so be it. As ever in the poker landscape you adapt or you die and one thing we all experienced over the years is the need to adapt, change games and learn new approaches because the scene is constantly evolving and this is no different imo.

Hey TQM thanks it's pretty interesting (and embarrassing) to have that progression highlighted as I guess every post is like a snapshot in time giving a small glimpse into that person. I can't say it's because of one reason or another but it's just life, I've had to do a ton of growing up, had to deal with certain things IRL and I'm a thousand times more comfortable and confident with myself than in the past. We all evolve at the end of the day, I doubt anybody here is the same person they were 5 years ago :) Have to say it's been great to see all the old names here and backing me up it's really more appreciated than you'll ever know. Still I've been feeling gutted today I couldn't bring the cheddar home for everyone, there would be nothing better than binking one for the guys on PL but hey maybe on day.Enjoyed reading this thread!:ok The Nade:@:wall:@ from 5 or 6 years ago is light years away from the current version......very very easy to tell you've matured as a player and, more importantly, as a person just by the way you describe Hand Histories or the way you've been knocked out. So many people play the 'open 90%+ cbet 100%' style which is only a problem for an opponent if they're folding too much either pre flop or post flop, so I do neither. Though it looks very weak passive it is very effective I find because people just don't bluff rivers any more, also by playing weak it gives more opportunity to make moves when they're not expecting and especially when the blinds get higher they expect me to fold a lot, and then they get surprised but it's too late they're done. Yeah I did flat some strong hands, the only issue I find in husngs is the people - they're so damn erratic :lol I just didn't want to put all my chips in to find out how a person plays, it can be done with far less chips in better scenarios, but I did make plays. Some randoms will call you allin 3barrel for 100bb with bottom pair (I guarantee some people go knocked out early in that mtt that exact way) and they'd wish they hadn't been so hasty! So it's cool you understand that and thanks very much for the offer Woodie much appreciated :)Was watching you played that style well it works against aggro players as you say not sure if I'dhave the patience to play like that but it seemed to work. Saw you just flatted the river with some very strong hands it's nice watching some you have % in knowing their not going to stack of lightly! You got unluckly would invest in again. -

UL again, and if you see any others, then just let us know, and i will gladly stake you.[/quote'] Hey yeah things just didn't work out after that, maybe I should have won it with the AK on ATT95 but I never thought he'd have an A there (A2) so was either T or a flush draw which bricked so I checked but apart from that things just didn't flow well for me at the end of that game. My late game/short stacked game is extremely good (I win a lot of the huturbos late game) because I played tens of thousands hyper HUSNGs so I know all the nuances. That's why I felt very comfortable at all times I had a plan early middle and late game, so if I couldn't win it before then when the blinds went up I knew there was still a great chance to win but of course you have to win the flip or two! That's great thanks for the offer much appreciated. Though it's unlikely I'll play any other in this series as the buy-ins are very high and I'm not good enough at that level probably but maybe for some smaller events in the future who knows :ok -
Re: WCOOP #12 $215 buy-in Stake Request Absolutely gutted to be honest! Bubbled it, but feel like I played a really good game. Early on I went decently ahead then got a huge cooler then short stacked I increased my stack by 50% and then got the double up TT > 33 to go ahead again but honestly I got some really shit luck. Because I was opening a tight-ish range it was rarely going to include any low cards - so what happens but I think 9/10 of the next major boards we play all low flops and fair play he took advantage of that by leading the flops there was nothing I could do/represent. Then for some reason he open shoves 72 though I have 20+bb left and he'd be crippled but I lost w AT. Really gutted for everyone, but honestly I think I played 3 really good matches. The first and third matches were against very isildur wannabe players and that's pretty tough to play against but I know my adjustments to that is to go checkcall mode essentially and it worked very well. The worst thing I could do knowing how I play is to get into 3/4bet wars with those guys so if anyone was watching they'd probably notice I rarely bloated any pots because that's exactly the game they want to play and with little history it creates huge variance which isn't good for anyone! If anyone wants the HHs of the games let me know, some interesting hands in there! Any questions fire away :ok Thanks for your backing again. That was pretty gross, won 5 decent sized pots in 7hands to take a 2:1 chip lead then he 3bets JQ I call KT flop comes KTA always shoving that flop with the game flow as it was. Still alive, he probably feels the game is over, but now we enter a different phase of play! Feel totally comfortable with my plays and the situation, but odds against me right now but still have 20bb...

What a fucking nightmare that was :lol Don't want to say too much right now as opponents might have google etc. but that was a very bad situation for me, but experience came in extremely handy at times in that game!!
