  1. Re: Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion > Sat 8th December Plenty of talk about arsenal here but less about west brom. The visitors have overs in their past 4 aways and any team that can share 6 goals at sunderland has to he looked at for the overs whoever they play! I'd be extremely surprised if arsenal failed to score again and this match up has seen plenty of goals over the years. Not great odds for either btts or the overs but that's the way I see this one going.

  2. Re: Newcastle United v Wigan Athletic > Mon 3rd December I'm sure Neil will be looking at the most goals in either half market too, but the evs available on the 2nd half looks good to me. Wigan haven't scored or conceded a goal in the first half away this season while Newcastle have scored 71% of their home goals in the second half. Quite obviously, Wigan are more than happy to get to away games goalless at half time and considering they have been playing teams in better scoring form than Newcastle, there is no reason that shouldn't continue here. Neither team have had a 0-0 this season.

  3. Re: Fulham v Tottenham Hotspur > Sat 1st December As others have mentioned, this looks a good bet for overs at 11/10 with Hills. * Fulham have had an average of 3.33 goals in their home games, Tottenham have an average of 4.17 in their aways this season. * 83% of Fulham home games have gone over, 100% of Tottenhams aways games this year have gone over. * Fulham have gone over in 3 or their previous 4 homes, Tottenham 4/4 * Last two meetings at Fulham have been overs. * Interestingly, 86% of Fulhams home goals have been in the 2nd half, and for Tottenham its 77% if you like to bet on half with most goals * ]

  4. Re: Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool > Wednesday 28th Nov

it's pretty simple: Spurs have won the last 5 home vs away h2h Pool have won 1/6 away PL games this season Spurs DNB is 1.8 say what you want about form in the last 5 games 1.8 is a good price
If you are backing a team to beat Liverpool the amount of games they have won is less relevent that the amount of games they have avoided defeat.
  5. Re: Aston Villa v Reading > Tuesday Nov 27th Really interesting one this, but i'm struggling to see a argument for Villa. I didnt see the Arsenal game but it sounds like they played well and to be fair they've had a tricky few games. However, they weren't exactly pulling up trees before that with draws against West Brom and Norwich. You have to go back to the middle of September for their last and only home victory this season - the 2-0 win over Swansea and they've now won only 1 of their last 11 home games in the PL Reading of course are without a win away from home but they seem to be settling down and they've picked up more points than Villa in the last 8 games. Away from home they were a little unlucky against Wigan on the weekend but had drawn 2 of their previous 3. Reading score 86% of their away goals in the first half and have led in 66% of their aways at HT. This is not lost on OPTA who tip Reading HT/Draw FT at 14/1 on Skybet. I also like Reading to be winning at HT and the 1-1.

  6. Re: Sunderland v Queens Park Rangers > Tuesday Nov 27th I'm finding it extremely hard to form an opinion on this one. Like others, I do quite fancy QPR to get something from this game but the big unknown is how Redknapp will approach it. Sunderland could be 11 points clear of QPR if they win this game and with Aston Villa at Upton Park on saturday, the last thing QPR need is another confidence draining defeat. The defensive problems faced by Sunderland could result with them playing an even less expansive game than usual and this could end up a pretty drab affair. Likewise an early goal could open the game right up and we could end up with a goalfest which isnt uncommon in this fixture. I just can't make my mind up so will do the right thing and swerve it

  7. Re: Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool > Wednesday 28th Nov Just a word of caution, Spurs have been a little shaky recently and Liverpool are unbeaten in 8. Prior to yesterday, Spurs have only beaten Villa and QPR on home soil but since their opening day defeat at West Brom, Liverpool are unbeaten on their travels, taking a point from 2 of the top 5 Rodgers has made his team very hard to beat away from home and I wouldnt be too surprised if this is Spurs first draw in a long time

  8. Re: Chelsea v Manchester City > Sunday 25th November You'd hope that Chelsea will fly out the traps trying to impress the new boss and its notable that Man City haven't been ahead at HT in any of their away games. 57% of Chelsea's home goals have come in the first half while 71% of Man City's away goals have come in the 2nd. Small stakes on this one for obvious reasons but the 19/10 for Chelsea to be winning at halk time looks a decent bet, may also have a go on Chelsea HT, Draw FT at 14/1 (both with Hills) good luck all

  9. Re: Stoke City v Fulham > Saturday 24th November

Was looking at 1st and 2nd half stats again. In the 5 home games stoke have played this season there has been 1 second half goal scored. This was against QPR, (Sunderland, Swansea, Man City, Arsenal could not manage a goal between them) Stoke have the lowest 2nd half average goals (0.2 per game ) out of any team in Major league Europe. This is a team that defends solidly but fails to score. Having fewer goals in the second half is also very much against the norm. I still think 1.72 for under 2.5 is great but I also like the 1st half with more goals at 11/5 on bet365)
Hope you got on the 1st half to have more goals Neil, it was a great shout.
  10. Re: Southampton v Newcastle United > Sunday 25th November Think there is a good argument for overs and BTTS in this one, Southampton will be encouraged by their win at QPR while Newcastle will bo looking to bounce back after a couple of poor home results. I doubt think there is much doubt that Southampton will have a go here but I'm not sure Newcastle will be exactly gung ho, Pardew might well be happy with a pont here just to stop the rot. If he can get past a couple of tricky away games (Stoke after this one) with his teams confidence intact, their next home game against Wigan could get them back on track. While Newcastle have scored in every away game this season and Southampton have scored in all their home games since their defeat to Wigan in August, Newcastle have drawn their last two aways 1-1 and Southampton had the same scoreline last time out at home when playing Swansea. I think BTTS might be the safer bet here 1.57 Ladbrokes

  11. Re: Wigan Athletic v Reading > Saturday 24th November My spreadsheet is flagging this one up too Neil as either overs or BTTS Just a couple of words of caution, Wigan haven't scored more than 2 at home this season and since Chelsea put 4 past them, Reading have gone 4 away games without conceding more than 2. 1-1 sounds a lot more likely outcome to me than 3-0 to either side, and if you take a slight hit on the odds, BTTS is 1.73 with boylesports

  12. Hi All, * I've recently been betting more on Overs/Unders and BTTS, I usually end up with 3 or 4 bets for the weekend but I'm somewhat confused as to how to group together the bets. * I imagine betting them as singles isn't going to get me too far so what do people suggest? * Just do a fourfold and be done with it? Cover the trebles? Or just pair them off into doubles? * Thanks in advance for any advice. * Cheers * ruscopico
