  1. Re: Thursday EW Fancies

Yarm 4.10 Aajel e.w Currently best priced 15/2. Looks a strong handicap here with many with claims but Aajel at its current price appeals definitely in terms of a place but also for the win. Aajel is realatively lightly raced and has huge improvement in him not just because he has little experience but also in his strong galloping style which will develop further as he develops and the added distance today will definitely help. He was beaten by Cecil's horse LTO but I think Aajel will turn that form around and go very close in general.
great winner there Woody :ok SP = 15/2
  2. Re: Sedgefield 10/08/07

530 : Be Quiet (33/1) Just one to watch out for, had very good form in Ireland some time ago and came back the other week with a quiet ride when finishing 8th of 18 for new connections. Tries a longer trip and must be fitter so at 33's it may be worth a small bet in a race where the old dog Fontanesi is at the head of the market.
blimey, just put up a thread about where everyone has gone and then I spot this just follow the man BILLY HILLS!!! :notworthy
  3. Hi, been lurking for a few weeks mainly due to my main PC that had my login details being out of action but during the summer months a lot of the respected posters (been here for approx 5 to 6 months) seemed to have disappeared or at the very least posting very occaisionally whats happened to JTW1 trends Russ P Cavelloman Mowgli - apart from his excellent special thread Bowles Aliando MillenUK when I found this place during the spring I couldnt believe it was so good after betting myself for approx 7 years, this forum helped me out along with my own selections (that I would not post here because of the reasoning thing - but I have no problem with that think its a great idea, I just dont have the time to explain myself) no disrespect to any of the new posters but this place used to be really busy and from my own perspective this should be a very busy time thankfully we still have Billy Hills (how do you do it) and Carl with great selections has something happened thats all Im asking?? Greg

  4. Re: BBC Vs Channel 4 I agree with everything you have said Xabi, I took last week off to watch the racing and was gutted with coverage who the hell that snob bloke was on it all week, but what a pompus git! hate people like that very snobby and so up em selves, always makes me laugh at the races when you see em bunging hundreds of £££ on favourites thinking they are something special as for the C4 racing team, legends, love the shows they put on John Francombe is class and they just seem a proper racing crowd, the only one who annoys me a bit is Derek, but he's such a plonker that he is funny will never foregt when he tipped 'dont call me derek' one saturday he loved it, me and my friends still quote him to this day

  5. Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Races (Flat)

great stuff Russ, i knew you would pull it around (just gutted I missed them, been following you since start of April :cry ) but as long as you keep picking em :ok I'll keep backing em fab results today on what was a very tricky day ( I picked our many losers!!)
  6. Re: Goodwood 09/06

5.40 Waterside Course specialist 3 from 9 albeit 1 from 2 over this trip. Ryan Moor up on board also.
with you on this one Bowles also told the waterside/moore record on fast ground is 9 runs with 6 wins and 3 places :ok
  7. Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Handicaps (Flat)

Not a particularly good day so far: Throw The Dice....4th:wall Effective....3rd 7/1:) Azygous....unpl:wall One more to finish off with at a big price: 9.00 Sandown 15 go to post for this Cl 4 handicap over 10f. Looking at the market principles, we have (incl RPF): Wovoka (3/1) - Good mark and very capable of winning in this class. However, not won for a long while and too short for me. Del Mar Sunset (13/2) - Won lto in this class but has a big weight to carry. I have doubts over its ability to win this in a quite competitive heat. Sir Arthur (7/1) - Front runner so vulnerable to a finisher. Travels down from the Johnston yard, but another not to have won for a while so it's opposable to me. Le Soleil (15/2) - 10lb rise, better class race so it's a no, no. Curley/Spencer combination means money is likely but cannot back this with confidence. Trans Sonic (8/1) - 0 from 14 on turf and never placed in this grade. Greek Well (17/2) - Big reputation but not achieved much to date. Still inexperienced but not for me based on form. Could easily improve but 4/1 current price is too short. * I am going to ignore all the above runners, and have a punt on 33/1 shot Double Spectre. Running well in slightly lesser races than this, and has a course win to its name. Capable off this mark and has a nice racing weight. Goes well for Dane O'Neill who rode this horse to its last victory 3 starts ago. Certainly not one to dismiss and could easily take this at a huge price. Recommended Bet Double Spectre (33/1 Sporting Odds) - 5pts EW
good luck Russ, Im following you with this (also backed Wovoka to win) :ok
  8. Re: Sandown 07/06

Russ' date=' i will stick with [b']Bold Minstral for this if the horse is able to dictate the race will take some catching. others on the card (purely from the trainerform) 7.25 Laa Rayb 7.55 Voliere EW 8.30 Irish Quest EW 9.00 Sir Arthur
thought I would join you on your 2 big priced EW selections, backed Voliere at an amazing 160.0 on Betfair but just spotted its now 220.0 (somebody must know something!!!)
  9. Re: Time for a NAP - Flat 2007

Bid for Glory was 2nd :ok 440 Nottm: Truly Enchanting - 5 pts ew @ 6/1 Bet365 (NAP) This one overcame a less than ideal draw last time to justify odds on favouritism. A mark of 80 looks fair for his handicap debut judged on his previous effort behind highly regarded In Safe Hands who has subsequently finished a close 2nd to Measured Tempo in a Listed Race.
Nice winner there!! wins at 9-2 :ok
  10. Re: Golf - Celtic Manor Wales Open

Bradley Dredge e/w @ 20-1 Dredge played some wonderful golf in Ireland two weeks ago and was unlucky to lose out to Harrington in a play off, although he didn't perform at Wentworth last week I'm sure that's because he'd have had at least one eye on his home open this week. It's not a particularly strong field this week and Dredge is a proven winner and has good course form after finishing 7th last year. Richard Sterne e/w @ 25-1 Sterne's form is there for all to see with a consistent run of top ten finishes, I do have a few doubts about his ability to handle the pressure and close out a tournament but I'm hoping that he can finally do it this week, a place win would cover the other bets anyway. Mikko Ilonen e/w @ 100-1 Ilonen is a streak player, either excellent or completely awful with little in between. I'm taking a punt on him as he's done well on some of the shorter courses this year at the Malaysian Open (7th) and in Indonesia (1st) so Celtic Manor could suit him. He showed a bit of form last week with T12 at the PGA and could, just maybe, be about to hit one of his purple patches.
great stuff Dougal, 1st and 2nd!!
