  1. Re: **Poker Saturday 6th January**

i agree with croc from that list why not the bet365 freeroll
The problem is that the Bet365 freeroll normally gets full a couple of ours after registration opening, so might not be available to all who want to play. How about the Ladbrokes $1500 freeroll at 7pm?
  2. Re: **Poker Thursday 4th January**

The bad news is that I've embarrassed myself by being a sit-out on TV :$. The good news is that it was because I was playing the StanJames freeroll instead, where I've won a seat in the $250 tourney on Sunday
should say $250k obviously - otherwise previous post would sound a bit pathetic :loon

RakeandRuin and Jon16 :ok Lets see what you've got :tongue2

  4. Re: Virgin Million Miles Freeroll

Ricky Hatton is fighting in vegas in 2 weeks time, im seriously considering going anyway, but if i get 15k its a free flight for me with all the other miles i have, anyone else interested in coming if they do well? Just 3 nights, fri sat n sun
Don't count on it unless you've checked with Virgin Atlantic first. Reward flight availability is very limited on that route (although January is a quiet time of year so you might be lucky). Miles might come in handy to get you an upgrade to business class though :ok
  5. Re: Happy Newyear Happy new year to everyone! Among my achievements in 2006 was to stumble across PL, and it has been a pleasant surprise to find a forum where not only is there a wealth of information, but there is also none of the vicious flamewars that are so common on the net. Here's to more success at the poker tables for everyone in 2007. :clap :clap :clap :clap

  6. Re: **Poker Sunday 31st December**

I'm in final 3 of Stan James Sunday Roast :nana :nana :nana :nana :nana :nana
Finished 2nd. Lost the coinflip that would have won it for me, but still very very happy with my $700 :D :D :D Certainly beats standing in a bar in central London drinking overpriced beer, which is what I did last new year's eve.
  7. Re: Virgin Million Miles Freeroll I'm in. Should point out that this is Virgin Atlantic miles only, not VPoints - there's no cash option. Still well worth playing in though (speaking from experience since I won the last one of these! :dude)

  8. Re: Choice of Focus games - General Debate For anyone who has a GBP Neteller account, I'd suggest you do get it switched to USD as quick as possible. It's very painless - Neteller customer support will guide you through if you ask them - and means you don't get shafted on exchange fees every time you deposit. Best decision I ever made!:dude

  9. Re: Choice of Focus games - General Debate I suspect this debate may have been done to death before I joined the forum, in which case apologies: I don't see it as necessary to keep money at all the sites I play at, just a couple of hundred $$$ in Neteller which can be deposited instantly whenever there is additional value in a tourney. I would imagine post PLers do the same (but am happy to be corrected). Therefore I don't see much of a problem with using a non-core site if that is clearly the day's outstanding added-value tourney. What I agree that we absolutely must do is to restrict ourselves to 'quality' sites, and avoid the likes of Goalpoker or PokerRoom.

  10. Re: **Poker Saturday 30th December** For an interesting change of pace, and since Saturday seems to be difficult to find a good focus game, how about one of the satellites to one of the big tourneys on Stars? I'd suggest the $11 one to the Sunday warm-up. I think it would be great to have several PLers in a big money tourney like that.

  11. Re: Cheating I'm sure some level of collusion as staffy described does occur. Hacking of the software is unlikely though. All adverts you see on the net for cheat programmes which allow you to see your opponents hole cards are total BS. If you are a solid, tight aggressive player, any cheating is not at a level serious enough to prevent you being a long-term winner. I know this for a fact, having made thousands of dollars in the past 3 years. Occasionally I have left a table where I feel uncomfortable about 2 or 3 players, but nothing more than that is required. The "online poker is rigged" rants you see on some forums are usually sour grapes from poor players.

  12. Re: Pacific Poker tourneys

Chaps, I may be missing something here but if their terms and conditions for these promos say they are only available to new account holders who haven't had an account with them in the past (the T&Cs for The Times promo says this, I checked them when I saw the advert in The Times on Monday) and you win the big prize and they find you've got more than one account then do you think it's likely they will give you the prize?
    a) Maybe not, but seeing as the likely prize is a chipset then I doubt they'll check too closely. b) It's free anyway, and took virtually zero effort to qualify, so there's nothing to lose. Isn't the Loaded one for all loaded players anyway? And loaded is a separate 'skin'?
  13. Re: Pacific Poker tourneys OK, I'm in, and much looking forward to my date with Miss Lloyd :D. Presumably you don't get banned for having accounts at both Pacific and Loaded? (not that I really care because I haven't played at Pacific for over a year anyway)
