  1. I agree with all the comments above and add that another thing that helps deal with losing is to make sure you treat yourself to something big or small...pair of trainers, new tv,whatever it is you want. Then you can at least think about how a past win has enabled you to get them and a loss is easier to swallow then.Don't just recycle winning money back in,use it for something you really want.

  2. Same here Zico,i came close a few times but close on an acca you might as well be a million miles off.A Law of Sod double whammy did me in again this weekend....Dortmund losing 2-0 with 80% possession and 18 shots?????Then thought i'd win some back on Sunday.....90% of my bets got wiped out by the mighty unstoppable Bayern Munich getting hammered.I was churning like i don't know what about those two coupon busters.

  3. You need to make sure winning a bet on the footy doesn't become central to your general happiness at the weekend.Ive fallen into that trap lots of times in the past to the point where it became obsessive and the be all and end all.I wasn't even enjoying it as such, there was never a feeling of happiness but just nervous energy usually followed by frustration. So these days i make sure it's taken with a pinch of salt and considering the type of bets i tend to do(Low stake with a high return),logic and the odds tell you you shouldn't expect it to come in.

  4. Thanks Zico10,loving the name by the way.Wow your story  is harsh, that must have been tough to swallow.I usually just stick to footy although i do the ITV 7 free to enter comp.Occasionally i have a flutter on the horses if any of my namesakes "Doyle" are riding.Needless to say i didn't have a punt the other day when Hollie Doyle scored a 5 timer. That's sods law for you!I can also recall losing accas on ridiculous things such as Barca failing to score,Juventus losing,Spurs missing a pen. Can't help thinking it's npt in the stars for me when things like that happen.

  5. Bad beats, sob stories, sods law call it what you will i'm sure most people can recall a tale of woe in the murky world of betting so let's hear them.It feels like it happens to me more than most or maybe that's just the frustration talking.Anyway, basically my sods law story for the weekend was one of not winning a single bet on Sat or Sun on the footy(£15 in total on various bets). Then checking the results of the games played on Monday in the Erste division only to find one of the exact bets i do on Sat/Sun came in on the Monday fixtures. That is all games to end in Both teams to score no draw.I only ever bet on Sat/Sun so i stuck to my gambling limits which is a good thing but it was very very frustrating.

  6. Just to say i had a good experience in Hills today when the FOBT crashed just before a free spins feature on a game.It actually says clearly on the screen "Malfunction voids game" so they've basically covered their arses there.Anyway, spoke to the counter staff who in turn phoned Head Office and i was given my £1 back and a tenners worth of credit on the FOBT.Put in £60 walked away 10 minutes later with £110 so can't grumble.Mind you,why i played it in the first place i don't know.Horrid things.

  7. I agree with Torque,it's also about familiar surroundings and the maybe the pitch to a certain extent.Psychology might play a part as well.I think knowing you are away from home may affect tactics to a degree.Having said all that there's nothing like a bit of crowd intimidation to make teams crumble.

  8. Hi everyone, newbie here with my first post so be gentle!Just wondered how people breakdown their kitty when it comes to a flutter on the football.Do you like to go big and put it all on one bet or do you spread it around and have several going at one time??Plus how big a bet do you do in general or do you have a few short returns and maybe one huge long shot?Personally i keep my gambling strictly to the weekend and have a kitty of £20 for the Sat and Sun.I usually break it down to a £5er 5 fold BTTS bet then have various £1,50p,20p and 10p bets on all different markets.Thats my £10 for the Sat and whatever i win i put to one side and just use the other tenner on the Sunday.Any thoughts?Cheers.
