Of the rest of the field, Tom Dascombe’s Arthur Kitt and Nate The Great, trained by Archie Watson, have both won their only starts to date but preference is for SAN DONATO to improve on his runner-up finish on debut. The Yarmouth novice race was designed to give juveniles a chance to gain extra experience before Royal Ascot and it attracted a strong line-up. SAN DONATO was sent off as favourite for the contest but was beaten by John Gosden’s Legends of War who looks to be a very smart prospect. Roger Varian’s colt came well clear of the rest of the field though and can build on that performance upped in trip for the Chesham.
