Ran into traffic problems last time when winning by a nose, so the distance can arguably be upgraded. the 2nd and 3rd have again run well so a 5lb hike may not be enough to stop a follow up, given the step up in distance should be in his favour

Has been knocking at the door lately without winning and has another good chance here, albeit up 3lbs. However, he is still well below his last winning mark (7lbs) and should go close. I was expecting a skinnier price than 7/1. -

Has a lot in his favour today. Down the weights, down in grade off the back of an improved run last time. Favoured trip and going and the stables runners acquitted themselves well yesterday (14/1 winner and 25/1 placed).

Hasn't shown a lot in recent runs but did catch the eye over 8f on good to firm at Ayr in June when a close 2nd off a mark of 92. Runs off 88 here and drops to class 3. Won a listed race last year so has ability and with Johnston having 3 winners yesterday i'm hoping the stable form will rub off on Whitman who is capable of winning this if coming back to form himself.

Had some useful snippets of form last season that would see him go very close here. Has done very little this season but a close look at his form suggests that he followed a similar pattern last season I.e three quiet runs followed by a return to form. Last time out was over the wrong trip and before that was done by the draw and raced in an isolated trio (of which he won). He is on a decent mark, a lower grade and back over 5f looks overpriced.

Relished the drop to 5f last time out and confidence from the stable was enough for him to be supplemented for this. Two year olds get a lot of weight to compensate for their inexperience. Their record over the last ten years is respectable. 7 runners, 1 win, 2 places.
