Wow this thread has stirred up a hornets nest. I have taken quite a battering lately with a sometimes bizarre set of unexpected results. The target was indeed £400 a month which would be £9600 profit at the end of the two years. This was only a monthly target, with the main aim to make £9600 in these two years. As I've said before I do my own thing and bet the way I want to. I will not change my ways because my way has served me well over more years than I would want admit to. I have to laugh though as I seem to be a failure for winning £500 in nine months. Hopefully I will continue to make a profit, and with my style of betting the bank will rise over the coming 15 months. Thanks all for the posts.

I've just seen what age you are potus and of course £1000 will seem a huge sum of money to you, it did for me at that age. I don't expect you bet like me, though I would point out that had you mirrored my bets you would have gained £500. I can't be bothered to keep justifying myself over and over again so I will keep quiet for a while to try and get this thread back on track again.

Well guys thanks for all the comments, good and bad lol. I always take advice on board, some is well meant and some otherwise. I can't say my betting is very consistent but up to date on this thread it has been profitable. Betting is different for all people, some like small bets, some like percentage stakes, etc, but me I've always bet by the seat of my pants and that is what works for me. The 'chasing' I admit has always been a problem and perhaps one day I will cut it out (don't hold your breath on that one). I believe that Punters Lounge has been good for me for the very fact that I have something to prove with it being so visible. PS I know what you meant Skittle and it is much appreciated. The Ural result was what was needed Potus, hope my luck has changed. Thanks Vikki37 for your support. The plan potus is to make at least £2149.09 every nine months, hope you can do the same.

Well guys that was a disaster. Skittle got it just right (chasing) and it will not happen again (heard that before). The tennis and golf bets made the loss a bit more palatable, but only just. It was a disappointing weekend but then I thought I am still a good bit in the black so all is not lost.

Beginning to worry about the Brisbane game aldric and then as you say, a mad 15 minutes. As for the Leeds game Js90 it was even worse. The winning try was late and by the merest touch on the ball. Now for Saturday. I've done the studying to a point, just need to have another look.
Result: Leeds won 20-16, WON £133.33
    Profit to date £2794.09

Betting is getting tough at this time of the year. Lots of surprise football results. RL has started with some odd results and cricket is fast becoming a minefield. I will have to be more careful with my selections and keep to more of the 'big' bets that seem to be paying off. I have made a mental note of sports to keep away from for the time being. With a bank of £3610.76 things are still in good shape but way behind my target. Hopefully get back on track soon.

It can be a game of small margins Js90. A one stroke win in the golf and a short head win on the horse yesterday makes it look good again. But of course I've also had a few near misses that have wreaked havoc on the bank lately. The real pressure comes when the bank has gone and the losses are still happening. I haven't had that pressure for quite a long time and probably won't have again.
Result: Isharah 1st, WON £40   ~    Backed down to 3/10 it only won by a short head from a 16/1 shot.
    Profit to date £2751.62
Quite a lot going on today so I'll try and find a 'good thing' or two to post later. Football is getting harder now we are coming to the business part of the season. Squad size may be a factor with teams playing so many games in a short time period. Already looking forward the opportunities of the summer season for some of the other sports.

That was too close for comfort. Didn't expect Barber (who is 400+ in the world) to hold it together so well. Must admit I wished I hadn't gone so big as I did, until the result of course. That has always been my style though and sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't. Will probably calm down now for a while now I've clawed back a bit of my recent losses.

Thanks for the posts guys. Things have been bad lately but hopefully improvement will come soon. As you say skittle it doesn't look like potus will show us how do do it lol. Thanks for your good wishes potus, though I don't believe a word of it lol. I've just made a provisional booking for the poor house, let's hope I don't have to take it up.

Read your other message vikki and the Hull bet did indeed lose.
The game plan from the start potus was to win money. £2736.28 has been won in eight months which is a fair return in my book. Perhaps if you can show us how to do better your posts can be taken seriously. It doesn't matter how you win as long as you win. You keep saying that I'm on the slippery slope but the figures don't back you up. I'm up and down at the moment but that is betting. Watch this space fella and at the end of the two years this thread is going to last maybe you can eat a bit of humble pie.

That was quite a hit Js90 and it was so close as well, a Hd and sh/Hd.  Not disaster but enough to make changes in my choices of bets (but not the amount I bet). I have a few big bets coming up so hopefully I can get my target back on track.

Not quite the way I expected it to go but came good in the end. The goal came in the 90th minute and by then I'd given up. Was cursing myself for putting on such a speculative bet and a much too large a stake. I was already working out a maximum loss/win per day strategy. It would have been a big confidence hit if the bet had gone down and for me confidence plays a big part of my betting. Got that off my chest guys, I am still recovering from the tension lol.
