  1. Re: Arsenal v Chelsea > Sunday April 26th Arsenal vs Chelsea – Draw @ 3.32 Marathonbet Arsenal enter the weekend as the hottest team in the Premier League since the turn of the calendar year. They have won 11 of their 13 EPL fixtures since January 1st and have been able to close the gap to the top of the table to 10 points before they welcome Chelsea to the Emirates. While their title hopes are realistically over, they will want to continue their excellent run of form that has seen them jump into pole position to finish 2nd place and claim another F.A. Cup title for the second year running. Chelsea held on last weekend to pick up a critical 3 points against Manchester United at home. While a victory will be their agenda headed in tonight, Mourinho will likely place greater importance on not losing rather than winning, as a draw would certainly end Arsenal’s slim title hopes.

  2. Re: Manchester City v Aston Villa > Saturday April 25th Manchester City vs Aston Villa – X2 @ 4.10 Marathonbet Manchester City got their top 4 bid back on track last weekend with a comfortable 2-0 win against West Ham. They have somewhat surprisingly capitulated in the second half of the season as they have now lost 6 of their last 9 competitive fixtures. That run of play saw both Arsenal and Manchester United leapfrog the Citizens for 2nd and 3rd place, though they can temporarily take back the 2nd spot with a win on Saturday. Aston Villa have shocked England en route to an F.A. Cup Final berth. Under former manager Paul Lambert, the Villains were sinking fast and struggling to find goals. But ever since the introduction of former Tottenham manager, Tim Sherwood, Villa have been on the up. They have now gone unbeaten in 6 of their last 8 competitive fixtures while managing to claim victory on 5 of those occasions. I will risk saying that Aston Villa will not lose tonight.

  3. Re: Bundesliga > April 24th - 26th Mainz vs Schalke – Draw @ 3.55 Marathonbet Mainz are looking up at the top 6 with hope in their eyes considering they are now only 8 points out from a Europa League berth next season. They played well in their last match on the road at Freiburg, winning 3-2. At home this season, Mainz have done well to lose only 4 matches out of 14 attempts. They tend to draw more often than not with 6 draws over these 14 home league contests, with an overall total of 13 draws in 29 league matches. Schalke have strung together some solid road performances recently. 3 straight road draws in league play against tough opponents in Augsburg and Wolfsburg to boot. A 0-0 away draw at Augsburg followed by a 1-1 road draw at Wolfsburg have the club buzzing with hope entering the year’s final stages. This should help their confidence entering a tough Mainz environment Friday as they try to escape the early season 7 road losses in their 1st 11 away league contests.

  4. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday April 23rd Zenit vs Sevilla – Win for Sevilla @ 3.20 Marathonbet Zenit claimed the Europa League trophy back in the 2007/2008 season and will be dreaming of repeating that historical run. That was their first-ever triumph in Europe and they have assembled a squad capable of repeating that feat this season. However, the defending champions of the cup were not to be denied at home, as the second half saw them invigorated, and Zenit eventually succumbed to the pressure and fell, 1:2. But that away goal could prove crucial to their advancement, as the hosts are very strong at home as evidenced by their 8-match unbeaten run with 7 wins over this stretch. Furthermore, they are unbeaten in their last 14 Europa League home matches in which 13 of those ended in victory. Sevilla travel to Russia as the underdogs despite being the reigning champions of the cup. While the travel distance is long and the home crowd is likely to be rowdy, i don’t see Sevilla being eliminated here.

  5. Re: Real Madrid v Atlético de Madrid > Wednesday April 22nd Real Madrid – Atletico Madrid – Win for Real Madrid at 1.86 @ Marathonbet Real Madrid will have been pleased with their performance in the 1st leg at the Vicente Calderon (0-0), as now any win at home sees them through to the semifinals. They have picked up their play recently and are unbeaten in their last 5 competitive fixtures, with 4 of those ending in victory for Los Blancos. Their weekend match ended in a comfortable 3-1 win over Malaga, as Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed another fine performance for his club with a hand in all 3 goals (1 goal and 2 assists). Tonight they will miss Modric, Bale, Benzema and Marcelo, four very important players. Atletico Madrid won’t be ecstatic with their 0-0 draw in the 1st leg, but they will be pleased by refusing to allow an away goal. Now any score-draw gets them through to the next round, and considering the recent injury concerns for the hosts, Atletico will be confident of advancing here. They have gone unconquered against their rivals in all 7 competitive showdowns since last season’s Champions League Final defeat, and even that loss was forced into extra time.

  6. Re: FC Bayern München v FC Porto > Tuesday April 21st Bayern – Porto – To Win To Nil – Bayern Munich at 2.28 @ Marathonbet Bayern Munich disappointed in the first leg, where they ended up losing 3:1 making it extremely hard to advance in the next round. After only a couple of minutes Xabi Alonso and Dante had made crucial mistakes leading to two goals for Porto. There will be no room for that kind of mistakes in the second leg, where the Bayern players are forced forward, as they need to score at least two goals. It is obvious that Pep Guardiola is missing some crucial players, but he can still line up with a world class squad. It is also expected that Franck Ribery and Bastian Schweinsteiger will be in the squad. FC Porto surprised everyone in the first leg, as they were better than Bayern at some stages of the game. The Porto players managed to pressure the Germans in the build up play, and that was really important in terms of getting the win. Jackson Martinez was also an important player. He returned from injury, but still he caused the Bayern defenders quite some trouble with his strength. But there is no doubt that it will be a completely different game in the Allianz Arena, where Bayern will have all the support they need.

  7. Re: Liga de Fútbol Profesional > April 17th - 20th Elche – Sociedad – Win for Elche at 2.80 @ Marathonbet This is a game for the 32th day of Primera Division between Elche and Sociedad. Elche stands three points above the relegation zone and needs the win, in order to maximize their chances for survival. Sociedad, on the other hand, is at the middle of the table and has remained without a target. The home team counts only one win at the last five league games (1-1-3), meanwhile the visitors count only one loss at the last six league games (3-2-1). Nevertheless, Sociedad has won only one of its last 16 away league matches. I see a home win.

  8. Re: Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur > Sunday April 19th Newcastle vs Tottenham – Win for Tottenham @ 2.34 Marathonbet Newcastle United are sitting now 13th in the table. Their recent form is yet disastrous. If this continues, the Magpies may even be fighting for their survival. The home victory over Aston Villa on the 28th of February was their last till now. Then, the Magpies lost to Manchester United, Everton, Arsenal, Sunderland and on the last matchday against Liverpool. What’s even worse – in all these five games the Newcastle players managed to score only a single goal, while they conceded 9. Tottenham Hotspur are a little bit short of breath. Still a few weeks ago the Spurs fight shoulder to shoulder with Arsenal and Manchester United for the top four. Now, the London side from White Hart Lane lose 12 points to the Gunners and 11 to the Red Devils. The top four and Champions League are slowly moving away. Tottenham may not be sure of European competition at all.

  9. Re: Liga de Fútbol Profesional > April 17th - 20th Barcelona vs Valencia – Barcelona To Win + Total Over 3.5 @ 2.14 Marathonbet Barcelona stumbled in their title pursuit last weekend when they drew on the road with Sevilla, 2-2. Despite holding a 2:0 lead through the first half hour of action, the Catalans fell asleep and allowed Sevilla back in the match with 2 unanswered goals on either side of halftime. The draw allowed for Real Madrid to close the gap at the top to just 2 points, and the Catalans will be feeling the pressure mount with just 7 matches remaining. However, Barcelona will be buoyed by their massive Champions League victory last time out, as the Catalans hit the road to Paris and stole a 3-1 lead from the first leg. The hosts are now unbeaten in their last 11 competitive fixtures and have claimed victory on 10 of those occasions. Furthermore, they have now won 15 of their last 16 competitive matches at the Camp Nou, outscoring their opponents 59 to 11.

  10. Re: Liga de Fútbol Profesional > April 17th - 20th Levante vs Espanyol – Win for Levante @ 2.93 Marathonbet Levante has a high need for the three points, as they are into the relegation zone, having the same points with La Coruna and Almeria. The hosts count four losses at their last five league games, meanwhile Espanyol comes from two straight wins and is undefeated at the last five games (2-3-0). History of this duel is in favor of Levante, as they won all the last four home games against Espanyol. I think that they can win also tonight.

  11. Re: FC Porto v FC Bayern München > Wednesday April 15th Porto – Bayern – Win for Bayern at 1.90 @ Marathonbet FC Porto will look to change their luck against German opponents on Wednesday. 8 losses in their last 10 meetings with Germany clubs through the years in European play. They currently hold 2nd place in the Portuguese League, losing only 2 of 22 Home matches overall this season. This dominate home field form will surely help them against the legendary power of Germany’s top contender, Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich are the class of German football, currently dominating the German Bundesliga with a comfortable 10 point lead on 2nd place. This enables them to rest up for big European matches like this one here. In UCL play this season, Munich lost 1 road match out of 4 attempts. With 9 wins in their last 10 games played overall, it is hard to see the German power falling in this match despite Porto’s impressive home fortress.

  12. Re: Juventus v AS Monaco > Tuesday April 14th Juventus – Monaco – Juventus To Win + Total Under 2.5 at 2.83 @ Marathonbet Juventus FC are one of the best clubs worldwide and it shows in their dominance of the Italian Serie A. Having only lost 2 home matches all season, Juve certainly know how to win, and they have been doing so for a few years now. The absence of Paul Pogba could press Juventus to play more defensive. But, with 3 straight home victories, expect them to still manage a shutout here considering they have accumulated a fine 11 clean sheets over 22 Home games in all competitions. Monaco are coming off an absolute stunning upset of English favorite Arsenal to advance to this round of UCL play. They just barely held on in the end via aggregate as their fortitude proved just deadly enough to succeed. The key to surviving was the stunning 1st leg away win at Arsenal that saw them down their hosts 3-1. Despite their 1st leg road explosion on Arsenal, expect a defensive approach from the visitors tonight.

  13. Re: Liverpool v Newcastle United > Monday April 13th Liverpool vs Newcastle – Over 2.5 @ 1.76 Marathonbet Liverpool know they must take all 3 points on Monday if they hope to maintain their top 4 ambitions. After going unbeaten in their first 10 league fixtures since the turn of the calendar year, the Reds have lost back-to-back games to Manchester United and Arsenal, and they are certainly on the outside looking in at 7 points adrift the top 4. However, confidence will be taken from that fact that they have won 4 of their last 5 Premier League home games, and with revenge serving as a welcome motivator this weekend after the hosts dropped the reverse fixture in Newcastle (0-1), the Reds should produce a performance worthy of all 3 points here. Newcastle have completely gone missing in recent weeks as complacency has set in, and manager John Carver needs to get his side off of 35 points and ensure their safety for next season. While it is admittedly a long shot for them to even face the possibility of relegation, it is this thinking that has likely seen the Magpies lethargically go through the motions and lose their last 4 Premier League fixtures and 5 of their last 6.

  14. Re: Liga de Fútbol Profesional > April 11th - 13th Real Madrid vs Eibar – Over 3,5 @ 1.77 Marathonbet Real Madrid has a chance to put some pressure on Barcelona, as a win would put them just a single point behind the league leaders before the Catalans face a difficult trip to Sevilla. The hosts will take confidence from the fact that they have won 11 of their last 12 Primera Division matches at the Santiago Bernabeu, outscoring their opponents by an astonishing amount, 44 scored to just 7 conceded. Eibar have admittedly enjoyed a successful season for it being their first ever in La Liga, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them as one of the teams left standing come season’s end. However, their form has been horrendous of late and they really should be safer than they currently are. They have earned just 4 total points from their last 11 La Liga matches, losing on 9 of those occasions

  15. Re: Ligue 1 Orange > April 7th - 12th Caen vs Monaco – Win for Monaco @ 2.22 Marathonbet Caen is looking to continue with a home win here this round as they look to put some real daylight between themselves and the bottom three. Caen’s position is relatively safe as they are six points above the relegation zone in 12th place in the league table, where they are currently on 19th place in the home standings with five wins, three draws and seven defeats. Monaco has a busy period coming up as they face four games within eleven days. They extended their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to seven games when they drew goalless with Montpellier at home. In fact, Monaco have lost just once in their last sixteen games in the French top flight overall. They are currently on first place in the away standings with 9 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats.

  16. Re: Coppa Italia > April 7th & 8th Napoli vs Lazio – Win for Napoli at 2.32 @ Marathonbet Napoli have found themselves in a slump lately with 0 wins over their last 4 matches overall. 2 losses and 1 draw in their last 3 league contests. This poor form is expected to turnaround on Wednesday as they have managed to take the home advantage here in the Coppa Italia following a 1-1 away draw at Lazio in Leg 1. They have done well this season and could claim a spot here in the final considering they only have lost 2 of 14 Home league matches this season. Lazio have done exceptionally well against Italian clubs recently. They are currently a mere 1 point from claiming 2nd place in the tables due to a fine run of 7 straight league victories. This form is going to help lead them into a great chance at claiming a spot in this season’s Coppa Italia final on the road at Napoli. However, hosts are in better condition and I see a win for them.

  17. Re: Coppa Italia > April 7th & 8th Fiorentina – Juventus – Draw at 3.55 @ Marathonbet In the 1st leg of this Coppa Italia semifinal tie, Salah bagged both goals in a 2-1 victory at Juventus Stadium. Confidence will be soaring in the Fiorentina camp here, as they have gone unbeaten in 18 of their last 19 matches in all competitions. They have managed to avoid defeat in their last 10 competitive fixtures at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, and we fancy their ability to frustrate the favored visitors this midweek. Juventus have failed to hoist the Coppa Italia trophy since the 1994-1995 season, and Tuesday very well could see that drought extended. While the Old Lady certainly has the best team in Italy, they come up against a side that has gone unbeaten in 18 of their last 19 competitive fixtures. Furthermore, the visitors have some worrying absences with the likes of Paul Pogba, Claudio Marchisio, and Andrea Pirlo all set to miss out through injury.

  18. Re: Crystal Palace v Manchester City > Monday April 6th Crystal Palace – Manchester City – Win for Manchester City at 1.64 @ Marathonbet Crystal Palace continue their resurgence under Alan Pardew, with the Englishman guiding the Eagles to 3 wins from their last 4 Premier League outings. The former Newcastle boss has lost just 3 of his 10 league matches with the Eagles, though more impressively he has managed to accumulate 19 of their total 36 points in just 10 matches. However, not all has been rosy at Selhurst Park, as the hosts have lost 3 of their last 4 competitive fixtures there with all of those defeats coming at the hands of opponents possessing similar quality to Manchester City. Manchester City still hold out hope of overtaking Chelsea for the Premier League title. While that is a bit of a dream at the moment, the Citizens know better than anyone that the season isn’t over until the final whistle is blown. While their play has certainly failed to impress over recent weeks with the Citizens crashing out of the Champions League and losing 2 of their last 4 Premier League matches, they looked strong last time out against West Brom in a 3-0 blowout.

  19. Re: Liga de Fútbol Profesional > April 3rd - 6th Valencia vs Villareal – Win for Valencia @ 1.96 Marathonbet Valencia won 6 of their last 7 games and drew the other one. Their last loss came on the 2nd of February in Malaga (1-0). In 2015 they gained 29 of 36 possible points and were able to beat teams like Real Madrid (2-1), FC Sevilla (3-1) or Real Sociedad (2-0). This run put them on the 3rd place in the league table, 1 point ahead of Atletico Madrid and 4 points behind Real Madrid. Therefore their final season goal is obvious: finish in the top 3, what means direct Champions League qualification. Villarreal lost all realistic chances to qualify for the Champions League after the home loss to Sevilla (0:2) in the last round and the 0:0 in Almeria in the round before. Furthermore the team of Marcelino was kicked out of the Europa League (two losses against FC Sevilla) and the players confidence might therefore not be on top level currently.

  20. Re: Ligue 1 Orange > April 3rd - 5th Monaco vs Saint Etienne – Win for Monaco @ 1.92 Marathonbet Monaco are now without defeat in five league matches, winning four and drawing goalless against Paris Saint Germain (PSG) at home. But with the likes of Saint-Etienne and Montpellier hard on their heels, the hosts will be particularly keen to take all three points here. At the moment, they sit on the 4th position in Ligue 1 but they will surely be pushing hard until the end of the season to get a new Champions League ticket for next season. In recent rounds, Saint Etienne were in a continuous movement and opponents had major difficulties in keeping up with them. It’s hard to find any player in Ligue 1 who has made more of an impact in 2015 than Saint Etienne’s winger Gradel has in his last six matches, where he scored a total of six goals.

  21. Re: International Friendlies 29.03 - 01.04 Switzerland – United States – Win for Switzerland at 1.87 @ Marathonbet Switzerland enter the midweek after claiming their 3rd consecutive victory in Euro Qualifying. After losing their first 2 qualifiers to England and Estonia, the 12th-ranked team in the world appeared to be in serious trouble in Group E. But 3 straight clean-sheet victories over San Marino, Lithuania, and Estonia have seen them back up the table and into 3rd place. They scored 13 goals at the last 4 games. The United States have still yet to play a competitive match since the 2014 World Cup concluded, and that has certainly been evident in manager Jurgen Klinsmann’s experimental lineups. The German coach has admitted that results aren’t the most important thing right now but rather finding the right balance as they prepare for the Gold Cup in July. I see a win for Switzerland.

  22. Re: Sky Bet League 2 > March 27th - 30th Burton – Stevenage – X2 at 1.98 @ Marathonbet This is a game for the 39th day of the League Two between Burton and Stevenage. Hosts are coming from four straight wins and sits at the top spot of the table with 76 points. Tonight they want to win in order to increase the gap that separates them from the second position. Stevenage has not won at the last three games, but played decently. They are strong on the road, as they are undefeated at the last four away games (1-3-0). I believe that they can take at least one point.

  23. Re: International Friendlies 29.03 - 01.04 France vs Denmark – Both Teams To Score @ 2.02 Marathonbet France have looked strong ever since they were eliminated in last year’s World Cup as they have been unbeaten in every fixture since including matches against strong opponents like Portugal and Sweden. However, on Thursday night, the unbeaten streak ended when Brazil visited the French capital resulting in an impressive 3-1 victory for the visitors. On Wednesday night, Denmark began their 2015 campaign towards Euro 2016 with a solid 3-2 win against USA in a friendly match in Aarhus. However, the win didn’t come easy to the Danish team who struggled during the match. Both teams are strong on offence, so I believe that we can see them both scoring.

  24. Re: International Friendlies 25-26 March Morocco vs Uruguay – Draw @ 3.40 Marathonbet This is a friendly game between Morocco and Uruguay. Hosts will play in front of a full house, in their first game after many years against a big country name of the world football. They have some good players, they will have passion and probably see this game not like a friendly. That seems to be the point also for Uruguay, who is going towards the final point of the preparation for the Copa America. There are only two friendly games left until the summer and coach Tabares will have to make a decision about the final roster. Suares is still suspended, but Cavani is there.

  25. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Saturday March 28th Netherlands vs Turkey – Both Teams To Score @ 1.88 Marathonbet This is a crucial game for the qualifiers for the Euro 2016 between Netherlands and Turkey. The Netherlands have claimed just 6 points in their first 4 qualifying matches, losing both road games to Iceland and the Czech Republic but also keeping their home soil untainted with wins on both occasions. This has left the 5th-placed team in the world in 3rd place in Group A at 6 points adrift the leaders and 3 points adrift Iceland. It has not been a good start to life under new manager Guus Hiddink, though there is admittedly plenty of time to turn it around – starting with Turkey. Turkey already sit at 8 points adrift the group leaders, and Saturday’s clash in Amsterdam could go a long way towards their elimination or qualification. The Netherlands are admittedly weakened without van Persie and Robben, and manager Fatih Terim will be confident of securing a road point here as a result. I see both teams score.
