  1. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th

Jesus dude' date=' you must be kidding? :\[/quote'] 3 sets all - 2 legs up, Phil Taylor, misses a heap of doubles and then averages about 60 for the next 2 following legs and loses the set. 4-3 Anderson, hands all the momentum to him, commentators kiss his arse, talk about his mental fortitude, not mentioning crap about how Phil threw it away. Then 6-6, double 16 for 1-1 and he chokes it. 3 darts, 3 misses. No, I am not joking you!
  2. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Taylor -1.5 sets handicap versus Anderson @2.00 with Bet365 Yeah, scoring rhythm, 180s and all that stuff, but he hasn't got the bottle to win over the duration of a first to 7 contest and Taylor should beat him comfortably. Never won the title before and it will prove too much for him to handle here, the anxiety and pressure to make that break through.

  3. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th

Doesn't matter, look how good a player Gary Anderson is and he couldn't win the BDO no matter how hard he tried. This is Bunting's first year in the PDC, he has had a tremendous year, now into the Top 20 in the world and he is still only 29 which is young for a darts player. Barney was full of praise for him and said he deserves to be in the Premier League, give the lad a break, we all have our opinions on players but there is no need to insult players on a constant basis and here we pride ourselves on mature reasoning and conversation, which helps us all when trying to have a bet. So chill out.
Like I said, you mistook my 'loser' comment. I was trying to make a point. May be his 'image' is deceiving me, but I had a strong suspicion he would not play anywhere near as well against Barney as he did against Smith. I was right. Gary Anderson doesn't have the character, I can already sense it. It's just like in tennis, it's not howmany aces or winners you hit/make, it's WHEN you hit/make them. That's the difference, the crux, ultimate difference. ;) That's why Van Der Vort lost to Phil Taylor, even though he out scored him in 180s. Some players' play well when it least matters. Gary Anderson is one of those. Some players play well when it only matters, Ramond Barneveld is one of those. :) Bunting's first PDC, so I will cut him some slack, but I did have a strong feeling he just played the absolute match of his life against Smith and wouldn't/couldn't replicate it.
  4. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th

You clearly weren't right about Bunting because you had Smith backed. Will you give it a bloody rest with the petty insulting posts.. "Looks like a loser", grow up.
Some people just don't look like champions. They don't have that champions spirit. You are taking the 'loser' comment in the wrong context. Think with some intelligence. I went with Smith due to it being 50/50 and priced inadequately.
  5. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th I was right about Bunting, he just doesn't give me the vibe of a champion. He doesn't act like a champion, he doesn't look like a champion and he overall just doesn't give you the feeling he is. Looks like a loser and was right to back Barney. :) He was hot against Smith, but on the big stage, the lack of experience and inherent depth of character means he freezes. He won't deliver today.

  6. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Van Gerwin to beat Gary Anderson (-1.5 sets handicap) @1.8 with Bet365 - 5pts Gary Anderson can match Gerwin in the scoring department, but for me he quite simply isn't CONSTANT enough throughout the actual duration of a match to take the match to a deciding set. Ger Win has moments of brilliance/magic where he is checking out of legs on ridiculous figures, something Anderson isn't capable of. Those moments of magic will break the spirit of Anderson and he will throw in far toomany 60s at inopportune times.

  7. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th

David Ferrer was consistently the 5th best player in the world for a number of years' date=' at a time when the top 4 in the world were four of the all-time greats. Ferrer cannot be spoken highly enough of and to compare him to Peter Wright is ludicrous.[/quote'] Philosophical comparison, which you did not get. I was looking at it from a bigger picture. Ferrer isn't that talented, you find it ridiculous? Oh well.
  8. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th

As both a tennis and a darts fan I see your analysis as a huge insult to David Ferrer. I'm not sure about your specific Peter Wright analysis but to compare David Ferrer to him is ludicrous.
Sorry you've taken that as an insult to Ferrer mate. I've played and coached this sport and have a long concrete background in it (Tennis) , I think I have some ground to speak. I could ofcourse be wrong on Wright however. I watched Wright on youtube yesterday, playing Gerwin in the final, he was a lot better, but still never had a really good consistent scoring rhythm going.
  9. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th He has no natural talent. It's clear and evident, he has gotten to this point through great work ethic. Essentially, he is the Daveed Ferrer of the darting world. Plays the percentages and does the basics well. Only thing is, when his game is ever so marginally off base, he's abysmal. He does everything marginally above average, just like Ferrer, but lacks that something special that can get him the W's against the big players. Just like Ferrer, relies on mental toughness and being ridiculously clutch. Truth is, Anderson's only flaw is he chokes doubles and Wright doesn't have the natural scoring prowess to encourage Anderson into choking those doubles. Like said, Wright is slightly above average in every department, if just one area to his game isn't to that slightly above standard, he isn't good enough to play at this level. I think Fader and Kev would agree with me on this.

  10. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th That's just such an absolute bloody joke!!!!!!!!! How the hell can you lose playing that well? The way he went down 3-0, after doing absolutely nothing wrong. Bunting doesn't look like a champion, just looks like a loser down a pub. I swear that hurt, I never had ONE OPPORTUNITY TO CASH OUT. Smith was definitely the right bet, that was incredible value and a pure 50/50 match. Odds should have been 1.9/1.9. Smith blew hot and is world class. I think Bunting was just ridiculously, UNFAIRLY almost, clinical. Good call Fader. Good call Kev with the 180s and thanks for the advice on Smith (No sarcasm) it was the right pick, I think Smith was unlucky to be honest. 3-0 was just too much, bunting is an annoying looking goof mind you.

  11. Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th I am suprised neither of you guys are on Smith, Fader or Kev.... from what I've seen this tournament, when he is focused, he is up there with the elite of them and he did knock Phil out last year. I think Bunting finished great last match against Wade, but really, is he a good/high enough scorer? Why should he be 2.5 dog?
