  1. Sporting Lisbon v Real Madrid

Cristian Ronaldo scored a superb hat trick against fierce rivals Atletico Madrid and answered his critics in the process. Real Madrid now sit 4 points ahead of Barcelona and 9 ahead of Atletico in La Liga. Real and Ronaldo will be brimming with confidence going into this match and that spells bad news for his old club. Sporting Lisbon gave Real Madrid a fright when they were ahead at the Bernebeu, only to concede twice in the last two minutes of the game. It was Sporting's first loss of the season and they've struggled to find much consistency since. I fancy an in form Real Madrid to win this game by a couple of goals.

My Bet: Real Madrid -1 @6/4 Paddy Power

    Borrusia Dortmund v Legia Warsaw

Again another great victory for this hosts against Bayern Munich over the weekend kept them in touch with surprise leaders RB Leipzig and only 3 points behind their chief rivals- Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga over the weekend. I watched that game and was impressed with Borrusia Dortmund's resilience and defending. The match wasn't the prettiest to watch but Dortmund really hassled and frustrated their opponents and allowed them very few opportunities in front of goal. Legia meanwhile got a shock 3-3 draw against Real Madrid on home turf a few of weeks ago. Real Madrid dominated the game and were profligate in front goal themselves but Legia to their credit took their chances well. I felt that Real Madrid were not firing on all cylinders in that game and were too complacent. Maybe they thought they only had to turn up and stroll through the game. Furthermore, Dortmund already thrashed these rivals 6-0 when they met last September and a similar score line tonight would not surprise. I see this being a straight forward victory for the hosts but the win odds are ridiculously short so for value I have opted for Borrussia Dortmund to win without conceding. If they can keep Bayern out then they should have no problem doing the same against vastly inferior opponents not to mention that they have already done so in Warsaw last September.

My bet: Borrussia Dortmund to beat Legis Warsaw to nil @ 10/11 Paddy Power

Doubly pays a little over 9/2.

Man City have been playing better away from home than on their home ground in their last few games. They had a host of chances against Middlesboro at the Ethiad and totally dominated the first half where they should have been two or three goals up at the break. But if you are only one goal down - you will always have a chance and Middlesboro to their credit where a much different beast in the second half. Man City seem to be the type of team that need to win by two clear goals in order to put the game to bed.

They have attacking flair but defense could be stronger, I am not too enamored with Stones or the keeper. Having said that Man City (who have no real injury doubts) ahead of this match should be fired up and will want to end their sequence of three Premiership draws in a row. That is a total of 6 points shipped when they really could have had all 9. Its getting close to that stage of the season where dropping points in such a close race will be detrimental to ones title chance. Simply put, Man City will have way too much for Crystal Palace and I confidently expect them to be winning this game by a 2 or more goals.

Another game I like is Spurs at home to West Ham. Again - Spurs have had a lot of draws and that has been down to the absence of striker Harry Kane. Harry is back to full fitness while West Ham have been nothing like the team of last season. They have lost a good few games by comparison and conceded a lot of goals. Spurs should run out comfortable winners on their home turf.

The one game that is going to be the most interesting is Southampton versus Liverpool. Southampton might have lost their last two matches in the league but they are a side that can spring out a decent performance under Claude Puel. They are missing Tadic after he broke his nose against Wales when playing for Serbia but sometimes these changes can affect the opposition's game plan just as much as the team that suffers the injury loss. This is also the sort of opposition that Klopp's Liverpool dropped points against last season. Liverpool will be sweating on Lallana's fitness after he limped off for England on Tuesday night.

The even money being offered on Liverpool is tempting though..hmmm. I might have them in a multiple bet at small stakes but it is a potential banana skin for Liverpool alright. Southampton have improved in their last few games and know how to defend. I can see them parking the bus and opting for the quick counter attacks. This looks to have a draw written all over it if I am being totally honest but a Liverpool win wouldn't be a shock either...nor a sneaky Sothhampton win..arghh.. It is a game I think that I will avoid in the end lol!!!

I am looking forward to Man City take the first half.. I watched a lot of they're matches recently and I need to say that they're 1st halves are in 80% brilliant. In second half they used to have problems, IMO because of mentality and maybe fitness. They're still not as big winners as big would want them to be mentally, while they're running a lot, making high pressure and for that you need to be very good prepared. For example Aguero is running 9,1km in average this year, while in last year his average was 7,8km per game. Odds over 2,00 and I really like them..

    what do you think guys?

  5. Re: Manchester United v Leicester City > Saturday January 31st Man Utd should won but have been awful in their last few games. How will the stubborn Van Gaal set them up? Will he go three at the back or opt for the traditional 4-4-2? I see him going with the former which will mean loads of square passes , slow build up play and boring football. Leicester have already put 5 past this team albeit early doors in the season. Still..that result will have given them confidence and they are also beginning to find a little bit of form themselves. Uniteds defence inspire very little confidence and at the prices they are waay too short. If I was to have a bet it would be on the both teams to score market but small stakes only.

  6. Re: Liga de Fútbol Profesional > December 12th - 15th

Wow, what a team just full of cannon-ball players. Isco with an absolute beauty of a goal. Different level of attacking soccer.
Totally agree and well done with your selection. I firmly believe that Real Madrid will become the first team to retain the Champions League in the competition's history . Barcelona are playing well, as are Bayern Munich and Chelsea but this team looks to have improved from last season. Toni Kroos has made a real difference to their midfield and has proved to be a sensational signing. What are your thoughts on Atletico Madrid's game against Villarral tomorrow?
  7. Re: Liverpool v FC Basel > Tuesday December 9th

Basle have only conceded the two goals in their last four Champions League matches, and will just need a draw to qualify to the next round. I expect them to sit back and defend in numbers and only break on the counter. Sunderland played similar tactics on Saturday and I can see Basle doing the exact same. Liverpool were mediocre in their dull 0-0 draw with Sunderland and failed to carve out any clear cut chances. They look a very average team with out Suarez and I can see Basle getting the point they need to go through. My tip: Draw @14/5 with Paddy Power.
Boom!! PuntersLuck does it again with another cracking winner and a decent price it was too. Hope some of ye were on :) Well donr kevshat on the btts :)

  9. Re: Southampton v Manchester City > Sunday November 30th ..and I too would agree with norn iron, Southampton's form didn't just happen by accident. They are a robust unit who work for each other as a team and can play some decent football too. Koeman has continued where they left off last season but even more impressively considering all the major departures the squad has endured. They are playing at home here where they have an impressive record and are not short of confidence either. Man City will be bhoyed by their win over Bayern midweek but it was a hard game for them , many teams underperform after they play champions league football and their form has been rather inconsistent too.

  10. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday November 14th

I probably spend about forty hours in a week on my betting research :) Belarus may be a bit of value tonight. They only lost 2-1 in this fixture in the last qualifiers and Spain are missing four key players in Iniesta, Fabregas, Silva and Diego Costa. We saw with Germany how a big side can struggle when the reserves come in. If you look at their squad it's fairly unimpressive: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spain_national_football_team#Current_squad
I've backed Spain -2..in an acca ( 8/11 PP) and am very confident of getting the bet up, despite these injuries. Good luck with your bet :ok
  11. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday November 14th

Doesn't really matter how bad the other games were, form goes out the window against someone like Gibraltar. And Germany haven't been that bad, imo. Beat Scotland, who are probably the second best side in the group. Beaten by Poland, who are improving, and drew against Ireland, who are also strong. Germany aren't at their best but to say that justifies only scoring four (one own goal in forty-five minutes of football) is wrong. Again, only imo. And the reason I don't post up my bets is because I only take very short priced stuff mostly these days, laying 0-0's, backing 1.5.
Germany were woeful against Scotland and Ireland, I watched both games. They were playing at about 45% of their ability and didn't create much esp against Ireland. Gibraltar as bad as they are would naturally have learned from their two spankings and Germany are so out of form that a 9, 10, 11, 12 thrashing just didn't look on the cards. I think Germany, Poland and Ireland will qualify from the group in all fairness. You really should do research if you want to get a half decent price and some money! Good luck with your impossibly short money on bets :lol.
  12. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday November 14th

Wasn't as if they were that battered either..how many shots did the Gibraltar keeper actually have to save? 2' date=' 3? Can't remember more than that to be honest. Standard of finishing was pathetic.[/quote'] True HastGill1, I think Germany are under motivated after their WC victory, they are also missing some important players through retirement and injury. Once they had the game won at half time, they weren't really that bothered, thats the impression I got from watching the highlights. Needless to say it was still a mediocre performance by them, but you just know that Germany are going to start producing the performances when it really matters in order to qualify.
  13. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday November 14th

I have to disagree. Whereas in club football you get shocks every week' date=' international shocks are rare. To have two in one night [b'](Germany only scoring four is a big shock) is amazing. There probably won't be another result like the Faroe's for years. Germany was crazy. They didn't have a bad attitude, maybe just a lack of personnel. First time I noticed Kruse was about forty minutes in. That's often what happens when you put inexperienced players in, even against minnows. I went as high as 3.5 goals for any serious stake, so a bit of vindication there. Staggering result though, the odds for this game weren't like anything I've never seen, Over 3.5 was 1.02 at kick off on Betfair :eek
Not really crazy at all, since Germany have won the WC they have been in second gear in all their qualifiers in Euro 2016. They were lucky to beat Scotland, Poland beat them and Ireland drew with them away. Truth be told, they have been a shadow of the team that won the WC, maybe the motivation is lacking but this German team has been playing poorly in all their Euro 2016 qualifiers. Some of their most experienced and best players have retired - Lahm and Klose. They are bringing in new players as well so are going through a minor transition. I predicted that this game would be over at half time and so it was :nana, they were 3-0 up..woo hoo :), after that they just took it easy :cigar. Wasn't that big a shock at all. at all. I'm raging:@ I didn't but up Faroe Islands (Draw/No Bet)..was very close as I have been watching Greece closely since WC. They are on a huge downward spiral while Faroes can put in a decent performance. They have played some good teams and have drawn or only been beaten narrowly by them in the past . Something like that wasn't such a huge shock either :lol If you are serious about betting I would advise that you study the form closely ( eg. Greece have only scored one goal in their group and have only gained one point) and not be going on reputation alone, you will be broke in no time:rollin I notice that you rarely if ever put any tips up :eyes..please do so I know which bets to avoid lol ..only kidding :lol
  14. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday November 14th

Good luck' date=' but Low has said they'll play with as many attackers as possible, and only three defenders, as defenders in this type of game are unnecessary, and that they want to score as many as possible, so it's risky. I get the impression they really want to put Gibraltar to the sword tonight, we'll see.[/quote'] ..and the score finishes Germany 4 - 0 Gibraltar.:lol
  15. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday November 14th I know Ireland and Poland thrashed them 7-0 and in all fairness they could have had more if they really went for it. Gibraltar did defend better in the last 15 mins of their second half against Ireland. They are learning the hard way and it don't come much tougher than Germany but I am hopeful that they won't get beat by more than 9 goals. Why? well this is effectively a training ground exercise for the Germans and they will be keen to have this match over by half time. The Bundesliga and Champions league resumes the following week so I can see the players taking it a bit easier in the second half. It will be a long night for Gibraltar but I believe that they can stop more than 9 goals going in against Germany. Gibraltar +10 8/11 with Paddy Power

  16. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday October 10th

Nothing skinny about your bet at all' date=' without giving too much away though. If your the sort of person who looks for a winning system and never wants to be defeated or limited. You can do 8 bets on one game in 7 different locations, where you only win once when you do. Your wins and loses will be so widespread you will never be monitored or noticed. Switch all 8 bets randomly. I have been running a system for years out with the regular heavier bets I do with the winnings from these. Never become good at one site ok ;)[/quote'] Interesting capri, that is how I am doing my bets. I will usually do a multiple bet and a rollover on a single each week, the rollover is the one bet I do that I try to make sure is not defeated. I aim to do this and finish it when I reach bet 10. then start all over again. Easier said then done lol. Is there a private message facility on this site?
  17. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday October 10th

4pts Kazakhstan (+3AH) to beat Netherlands 2.00 Unibet The Dutch haven’t really got going since the World Cup and while I think they’ll win this match they are missing a number of big players so I think it would only be a narrow win. Kazakhstan will set up to be hard to break down and then hit the Dutch on the break so they won’t make it easy for the home side so the visitors with a 3 goal start on the Asians looks the safer play here. Excellent shout Kev - well done. :ok
  18. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday October 10th

I never bet on the England game, my mind gets bamboozled when I see the crazy odds offered. I think it was something like even money if I took England -7 goals, dreadful odds, I do not trust England enough to even score 8 or more against them, and they never, but it's not natural to back things like this, I think I will always avoid bets like this, especially when Hodgson was saying he is not worried about the goal count but more the display. The goalscorer market I know nothing about, I have never backed that market before either, again I dislike, I only want FT outcomes. I will be watching out for your future selections which are over/under goals, teams to win, and both teams to score ;)
Likewise capri, that was a cracking bet to get up and decent value. Mine are a bit more conservative and the prices will be a little skinny as a result, but will bulk up a multiple bet nicely. Nothing is a cert but you can give yourself a great chance if you are prepared to put the study in.
  19. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday October 10th

Israel hit the woodwork and had a number of blocked shots, it should have been 1-3 or more I think, but have to say I am still quite impressed with Cyprus, against a lower opponent where the bookies do not favour them, probably worthy of a punt in the future ;) Well done to you too PuntersLuck, you won me a smaller bet, I had over 2.5 goals on this too after reading your both to score, glad I never backed as I would have chosen Bulgaria for this one.
Delighted you were on capri, I did a treble Czech Republic (btts)@ 5/6, Austria win a 8/11, Rooney (2 or mores goals) @ 4/5 for €20 to win €114! I also did another treble Czech Republic (btts won), Italy to win both halves (lost) and Cyprus v Israel (btts) won..unlucky that. Delighted that I got some money off them as I really fancied the second bet more than the top one, was a little unsure about the Rooney bet tbh.
