I use it early in STT's - whilst the blinds are low and not really worth winning - you MUST be ready to step up through the gears quickly though as the value of the blinds increases.

I agree. IME it generally works well in STT's when the blinds increase every 8 mins or more but on turbo tables you can struggle if you don't get a decent hand on the first few levels.
