Re: Binchy's Lays Just looking back on this thread, the first selection was posted up on the 26th March, so yesterday marked the first quarter of the year. If the system goes along at the same rate, on the 26th March 2015 the bank would be £3598.80. As you will see from the first post, I had been testing the system for about a month before hand I think from memory, and from my records they are about £900 in profit.

Re: Binchy's Lays As above RGX. I've been in to horses for 3 or 4 years now and I'm only just coming to terms with laying. The reason people do it rather than backing is because for example if you had 12 runners and you're looking for the winner, you have a 1/12 chance. If you're looking for a loser, unless its a dead heat, you have 11/12 chance on winning. I don't find it as satisfying as backing a winner and one lose can wipe out 6 wins so its just a game of patience.

- At the time I did my selections, Mishrif was favourite both in the back market and lay market on betfair. The time I do the selections vary from day to day but a rough guide is selections for Tues, Thurs are selected at around 11pm the day before, selections for Mon, Wed and Fri usually 10pm the day before, Saturday between 9am and 12am on the day. Due to the times most of the best are placed there is relatively low liquidity in the market, creating false favourites.
- These are the newspapers Racing Post use for selections. As you will see, this example is from the race in question, 3:50 Yarmouth, where you will note only 1 selection for Mishrif. I believe you have to be a member to view this information, although I could be wrong. - The * indicates the tipsters best bet or nap of the day and the nb is their second best selection.
RGX - I did look at that myself the other day actually and get confused. The result 'won' or 'lost' is in relation to the result of the race rather than the bet. So as this is a laying thread we want horses to lose rather than win. There fore the universally accepted colour (no idea why???) for profit is green, and for loss is red. So red indicates a loss. Hope this helps.

Re: Royal Ascot 2014 ~ Day 5 Saturday 21st Anyone else think Groor stands a decent chance of a place in the Chesham? There is not a lot in the race besides the favourite who I think could run away with it. Groor was a close seventh at Sandown LTO getting no run whatsoever and will surely have improved since then. Worth a shout for a place at 80/1 I think.
