  1. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May I guess 2 v 2 against Italy or 1 v 1 against France you consider bad results? :eek ROI were unlucky not to be going to this world cup and all down to Thierry's hand! Looks like a draw to me as both teams I would say are very evenly matched.

There's not much news on the ROI v Paraguay match... Does anyone know potential line ups. If both Sides are at near full strength I fancy Paraguay to get something from this match.. Looking at Laying ROI. ROI are fairly weak and failed to gain a place at the WC. Whereas Paraguay on the other hand are a Force again in South America and could be strong at this WC. Very Close to qualifying automatically losing out JUST to Argentina, Paraguay should be able to contain this mediocre ROI side, maybe even come away with a Win.. ANy thoughts?
  2. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May Holland v Mexico (playing in Germany) 26/05/10 7pm GMT This will be Mexico's 6th game this month! they have to show fatigue after only 2 days rest from the England game or if they alter things surely that was their best team out last night v England? The Dutch have only recently got together but it is a chance for some of the fringe players to stake a claim for the world cup squad. The Dutch are unbeaten in 16 games and the Mexicans were 10 games unbeaten until last night! I think the desire of players on the Dutch squad will be enough to see them record a comfortable victory against a decent but fatigued or altered Mexican side. Prediction: Holland -1 HCP @2.70 Paddypower **** :ok

  3. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May Hi rydogg 1 V 1 or 2 v 0 is 2 goals! If it ends up any of those scorelines your bet will be lost! I think you may mean under 2.5 goals? :unsure which is a far worse price!

I think the under 1.5 goals in the Greece game looks a really good bet... I might take Under 2 goals instead though at evens' date=' just so I have a little bit of cover in case this ends up 1-1 or 2-0... Great pick though.[/quote']
  4. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May Greece v North Korea Greece come into this match with a few players carrying niggling knocks, Torosidis, Patsatzoglou and Charisteas. The match comes just days after several domestic players finally joined up with the national team as a delayed domestic campaign forced national team staff to delay the start of the side's training camp in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland. The Greeks last match was a disastrous 2 nil loss at home to Senegal in March and they haven't had much time together since they joined up recently. Whilst the North Koreans have had plenty of preparation and this will be their 3rd game in just over a month. They played South Africa and obtained a 0 v 0 draw and then Paraguay eventually losing to an 85th minute penalty from Santa Cruz. Both teams have found it hard to score recently with both only managing to score 1 goal in their last 3 games. I believe the North Koreans can get something here from a very ill prepared Greek side! Predictions: North Korea Win (or draw no bet) @4.50 Paddypower **** Under 1.5 Goals @2.88 Paddypower *** :ok

  5. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May Portugal v Cape Verde Islands Most people seem to think Portugal are going to steam roller Cape Verde! However they are an improved team in the last couple of years and are unbeaten in their last 4 matches.

    24-03-2009FriendlyW Angola0 - 1Cape Verde Islands
    27-03-2009FriendlyW Cape Verde Islands5 - 0Equatorial Guinea
    03-09-2009FriendlyW Malta0 - 2Cape Verde Islands
    09-09-2009FriendlyD Angola1 - 1Cape Verde Islands
Portugal are in good form recently however they haven't steam rollered teams that they are supposed to and the best/highest victory they have in recent times was back in Aug 08 when they beat a far worse team than Cap Verde in Faroe Islands 5 v 0. Portugal are a team that are well known for taking it easy in friendlies - in fact their last 3 matches have been friendlies where they have not battered the lowly teams they have faced:
    10-06-2009FriendlyD Estonia 0 - 0Portugal
    12-08-2009FriendlyW Liechtenstein 0 - 3Portugal
    03-03-2010FriendlyW Portugal 2 - 0China PR
Cape Verde have mostly a contingent of players that play in the Portugese league and will know various players from the opposing side. Prediction: Cape Verde Islands +3 HCP @2.10 William Hill **** :ok
  6. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May Australia v New Zealand - 10.30 am GMT A friendly match where the Aussies entertain their neighbours and it will be an exercise for both teams to make some changes and see new players in the squads before next months world cup. They have met each twice before in recent times in the football arena in a friendly in 2005 and a world cup qualifier in 2004 where the Aussies prevailed both times 1 nil. The Aussies last 3 games played at home have seen 2 goals in total scored. The last 3 games of New Zealand have seen 3 goals scored in total. I can see this game being very tight and with this close to the world cup players won't want to obtain any unecessary injuries that could jeopardise their participation. On stats and history between these 2 teams this game should ought to be a very low scoring affair! Predictions: Under 3 goals @2.00 William Hill **** Australia win 1 v 0 @6.00 William Hill ** :ok

  7. Re: Bath - Sunday 23rd of May 2.35 - Motty's Gift EW @11.00 Sporting bet Walter Swinburn last season sent 4 x 3 yr olds to Bath and 2 won - 50% strike rate! This is his only horse of the day! It was beaten by the Cool Kitten favourite last time out but was very unlucky in-running being hampered at the start and having to be switched at a vital stage in the closing stages and was beaten under a length at the line! Motty's Gift gets a 3lb pull today and should in theory turn the tables! I am a big fan of Knight who trains the favourite, however I never like to back his horses when they are favoured due to the fact they always get turned over! In the last 14 days Knight has sent out 3 favourites and not one won! Walter Swinburn is a trainer who is very adept in handicap races. :ok

  8. Just thought i'd point out for the 1st race at chepstow won by Cereal Killer 9/1! 2:33pm - In the paddock Cereal Killer looked a picture and was the pick with Noble Jack not far behind but most of the others did not catch the eye I like to follow this and when the guy at the track picking them out gets a winner in the 1st race it's a good pointer for the rest of the day!
