1. Re: UAE-Cup Al Ain made 8 or 9 changes, but got lucky with some good counter attacking play, some woeful refereeing and goalkeeping. Al Ain won 3-2 in the last minute after the referee gave a penalty that was AT LEAST - 2 foot outside of the area. Al Ain played ok in all honesty, Al Shabab moved the ball quicker and better but didn't create that many chances. I would have to say that Over 2.5 in ALL UAE games looks a good bet to be honest.

 2. Re: Turkey-Cup Does anyone have any earlier team news on Tommorrow's games? I see that Fenerbache were dissapointing in the first leg at home to Altinordu, meaning they will need to play a stronger team tommorrow in the away leg. Meanwhile Karabukspor at home, lost to Balk in the league 1-0 a few days ago, but they have already got the previous leg sewn up 3-0? Will they make changes? Istanbul look a good price away from home against a team in League 3.

 3. Re: Turkey > Spor Toto Süper Lig > 2014/15 Good call on the BTTS. I watched the game and the 9-0 the other day and in my opinion the cup game didn't nothing to help Trab. They piled forward like they were winning a game comfortable again and Eski were superb on the counter attack. Defended brillantly, cut Trab open time and time again and although the scoreline is flattering - they attacked and defended as a unit and were well worth the win. Trab are certainly VERY entertaining at the moment, having 4 or more goals in all 6 of their last home games.

 4. Re: Portugal » League Cup » Guimaraes - Sporting 29.12.2014 Watched the game and the home side were very uninspiring. Had all the ball, most of the attacks and 14 corners but failed to produce any real killer chance and didn't cut effectively a team from a league below them open once. Very, very poor standard of football. Lots of fast pace and energy but no real cutting edge. Very dull. It reflects on the league in general and the national team.

 5. Re: League 2 > 26th Feb - 2nd March League 1 Preview - 2/03/2013 The fixtures come thick and fast in League One with another full schedule this weekend. Brentford entertain Scunthorpe at Griffin Park aiming to build on an encouraging win against Crawley. With the top 6 still tightly packed, a win for the Bees would see them firmly back in the hunt for top 2 finish. Scunthorpe will want to build on their upturn in fortunes at home with a decent result here. It certainly makes for an intriguing fixture. Bury will be aiming to bag all 3 points at Gigg Lane when they take on Crawley. After an outstanding win away at Swindon, the home side will be aiming to make the most of Crawleys inconsistent form. Crawley on the other hand will want to make it 2 away wins on the spin after a 1-0 victory last week at Leyton Orient. Coventry return to the Ricoh and will know that they need to win regularly at home from here on in to make a serious play off push, as their away form will only carry them so far. Swindon on the other hand are struggling at the moment, with no manager and no home win in 3. They, like many in this league, will be hopeful that their better form away from home can help them to nick a vital win here. Crewe will be hoping for home comforts as they look to bounce back from an awful performance and 3-0 loss away at Hartlepool in midweek. They take on a Portsmouth side still without a win since October. Pompey have 1 away point from 18 in 2013 and have one goal from those games. Both sides will be desperate for a win here, Crewe to tick over onto 50 points, Portsmouth to end their long winless run and give themselves a small glimmer of hope for surival. Another week, another new leaders, as Doncaster now top League One. They become the next team to try and maintain their position as league leaders with a home game over inform Hartlepool. The away side are 7 unbeaten and have narrowed the gap on 20th to just 6 points. What looked impossible for them a few weeks ago now looks distinctly possible. With confidence high and them inform, they will back themselves to continue the fine run and get an unlikely win at the Keepmoat. Bournemouth travel to London to play Leyton Orient. The South coast club are suffering a big blip at the moment. 3 losses on the bounce, all without a goal. Can they get over their current bad run against a side that look to be settling down in midtable and will want another good result to follow on from their decent point away at Sheff Utd? MK Dons play Preston at Stadium: MK and the 2 sides are labouring in the bottom half of the table. PNE have enjoyed an upturn in form since sacking Graham Westley, whilst MK continue to struggle with injuries and suspensions. They will need good run and fast if they are to mount a promotion push this season. Notts County are at Meadow Lane looking to extend their unbeaten run of 4 games. They play a struggling Carlisle who are coming to Nottingham off the back of a heavy defeat to Walsall. With the away side struggling for consistency and form, they may find getting a result here a tough ask. Oldhams cup run is finally over and they will be looking to continue their impressive run of 3 straight league wins at home to Sheff U. The away side will also be seeking a win as they aim to return to the top of league one. A big game for both sides. Stevenages bad run looks no sign of ending after another loss on Tuesday, but with Colchester the vistors to the Lamex Stadium, the home side will have no better chance to bag 3 points. Colchester will also be aiming for a victory to try and lift them out of the bottom 4. In the penultimate game, there is everything to play for as Walsall welcome Shrewsbury to the Bescot in a local derby. Walsall are back to the form they showed at the start of the season and look dark horses for a play off push. Shrewsbury have the bragging rights from the 1st meeting of these two rivals earlier in the season and they need to take another 3 points and push away from the bottom 4. 2 of the stuttering promotion rivals take on each other at Huish Park as Yeovil host Tranmere. Yeovils impressive run was brought to an end at Colchester on Tuesday whilst Tranmere have shown some signs of recovery in their last 2. Both sides will be chasing a win to keep up their hunt for a play off push.

 6. Re: Football Lays - 1 bet, 1 withdraw I'll be back when I have £100 bank. The layout and the rest was perfect, before the bets started! It's hard using betfair, as 365 have so many more games per day to choose from. I think bet365 need to start using an exchange system. I've won £290 on the Spurs game tonight, so ill probably put across 100 tommorrow. I did NOT spend 10+ hours arranging a spreadsheet and spend 20 minutes typing out a tidy original post and plan for absolutely no reason. If the £100 bank goes bang, then we'l know. That I've failed that system.

 10. Evening. After starting and failing with a GH thread through last week I decided to go away and compile some research in the football betting area. Having been un-sure on what exactly to 'search' for or 'trial' to see if I could find a reliable source of betting income I feel back to the ever reliable Bet365, the best and most in depth betting website. For months and months know, I've had the odd couple of quid on random 10-14 folds on the 'Odds on Coupon'. One thing I always found during that period was just how unreliable and unpredictable 'odds on' games actually were. This weekend I decided to take matters into my own hands and set a spreadsheet up (that I know realise I can't post in this thread, which is very frustrating) listing 200 randomly seleceted matches from the Odds on Coupon and logging, Odds, half time score, full time score and whether the favourite actually won or not. In all honesty, I didn't find out much that I already didn't know, however I did find a reasonable way of making money, providing I used Betfair (so I can cash out) and providing I use a well thought out system of placing 1 bet with a high stake and withdrawing any winnings, before starting placing a new bet. I know, I know your thinking this looks like a load of old waffle. Let me show you my results. Below is the outcome for the favourite in the match.

Total Table

Results Won Lost Drew

200 126 32 24

(18 games were Postponed, or results weren't in on Soccerway yet) During this period, one thing became immediately established. When there is a favourite in a particular game, there is rarely a game that finishes 0-0. Precisely 4 games in the 182 results that I logged finished 0-0 and 2 of thoose 3 came in 1 particular division. The Idea? 4 games in 182 isn't a particularly high level of reliabilty when it comes to large stake betting, however the plan I have is potentially a solid way of earning a small, but solid and frequent income before withdrawing it. For example, I start with a £100 bank and I lay £100 on a game finishing 0-0 at odds of 10. The game finished 3-1 and the bet wins, returning £10. I then withdraw this £10, leaving the £100 bank to place my next bet with. You can get 45.5 into 182 four times, which according to my trials means I'd have lost one bet every 45 games. You see where Im coming from? The chances are, by the time you find yourself a 0-0 game the chances are you will have earnt more than your loss. You also have to remember, using Betfair there is less 'Odds on' games because they have less games than bet365 to choose from and bet on. This wont be the only bets I try and do in this thread, but I think it's certainly a good basis to have a look at and continue to try and test myself. Let's lay down the rules. - 1 bet 1 withdraw - Laying 0-0 in games with an obvious favourite involved - Any bet's go (as I wont restrict myself to just this system) - The cash out/trading system is acceptable to use at all times Aim? - Double my start bank (in withdrawals) before having to deposit any more money. In other words - I start with £100 bank, I want to have withdrawn at least my starting bank, before having to deposit anymore money.
 11. Re: Football Lays - Any bet. Just for some sort of closure. Bet's today - 10 Wins - 6 Void - 1 Loss - 3 So, 60% accuracy (albeit over a tiny amount of bets) isn't TOO bad, but perhaps not going all in would work a little better as it's an average of a loss per 3 games which isn't particularly good.

 12. Re: Football Lays - Any bet. Cheers for the message, yeah I had a little re-think on the layout and think that it looks a bit better without being full of 'copy and paste' screens. I fell asleep stupidly during the Celtic U20 game, only to wake up and see that I was fairly unlucky. This was only a trial though and part of the initial bank balance was a free bet when I opened a new betfair account so I'm actually only £20 down. I intend to come back in a few days or so with a stronger bank (after pay day) and give this another go, with slightly different aims. I am however, impatient - though at times I do think that impatience can win more money than thoose that are happy to sit on £3 profit per day it's just as you say, definetely a more risky strategy. I have £3.20 in my account from a later settlement, no point in doing lay's with that kind of cash, it'd take me 12 months to earn £10. Nothing to do with this thread, but I've put that on Cruz Azul currently beating San Luis 1-0. If I can get that £3.20 back up to £20 odd, I may consider starting this again before the weekend. I will open a new thread though as I think, once a bank is empty and more especially if there's a slight tweak on strategy it makes things look and seem confusing to regular readers (I certainly find that from experience). At the end of the day, I enjoy a little risk and aslong as it doesn't become a £100 down the drain a week kind of thing, then it's a bit of harmless fun. If anything more comes of it, superb and for 'readers' sake keeping it fresh, tidy and strategic to some extent will be good.
