  1. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 15 February

Zenit v Benfica Key Stat: Benfica have scored in every match this season.
Last season 23% of goals in the Champions League came from set pieces so it might be a good idea to look for the dead-ball specialists. Have a look for Ronaldo (his free-kick on matchday 4 ensured qualification for Madrid), Moskva star Alan Dzagoev (scored with a stunning strike against Inter on matchday 3), Robben, Frank Lampard and specific for this match Benfica striker Óscar Cardozo’s sublime left-foot. Zenit v Benfica The Russian domestic championship has been on a winter break since November and Zenit could be caught cold on their first competitive outing for a couple of months.
Zenit returned to work on 12 January and had training camps in Dubai (15-27 January) – winning the invitational Match World Cup – and at the Italian national team base in Florence (29 January to 8 February).• Friendly results 18/01: Zenit 2-1 FC Bunyodkor, UZB (Huszti 13, Criscito 43) 20/01: Zenit 2-1 Iraq Olympic side (Bukharov 10, Kerzhakov 75) 23/01: Zenit 5-0 Uzbekistan Olympic side (Lazović 10pen, Rosina 69 80, Danny 84 86) 25/01: Zenit 4-0 PFK Lokomotiv Tashkent, UZB (Lazović 3, Kerzhakov 52, Huszti 56, Bukharov 80pen) 26/01: Zenit 1-2 FC Shurtan Guzar, UZB (Luković 69pen) 01/02: Zenit 3-1 Serie D U19 XI, ITA (Lombaerts 40, Danny 50, Denisov 54) 04/02: Zenit 5-2 US Pistoiese 1921, ITA (Luković 19pen 27pen 57pen, Fayzulin 44, Huszti 59) 06/02: Zenit 1-0 AC Cesena, ITA (Kerzhakov 22)
  3. Re: Sunderland v Arsenal > Sat 11 Feb

I guess the major factor here will be Sunderland's fatigue, after playing 120 mins in midweek they will also miss Sessegnon who in my opinion is a creator of their game and let's be honest, Arsenal are class above them and with a full-strength squad, and Van Persie pairing with Oxlade up front, I can't see Sunderland a serious opposition, despite their recent form. Bubble will burst today. Considering Gunners' unpredictable defence, I will be going for goals rather than the win (I cannot see this one ending 1-0 Arsenal). Arsenal >1.5 goals @2 8/10 pts Arsenal >2.5 goals @4.33 3/10 pts Arsenal >3.5 goals @11 0.5/10 pts with bet365
fatigue will certainly play its part on the home side but i guess next week's UEFA Champions League clash with AC Milan will have some influence to Arsenal.
  4. Re: Chelsea v Man Utd > Sun 5th Feb I do not agree that a cup match would lead to eg MU played either worse or better. (Community Shield: Early sunday morning, sorry). But of course it is thoughtful that MU only won 1 (2002) out of 12 matches at Stamford (4 draws) in 00s. Maybe I would ignore the Mourinho era in this statistic. All of the above statements taken into account I will suggest MU win by 1. Btw I'm a bit troubled by the fact that de Gea has conceded 28 goals in 20 appearances

  6. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 1st December

I'm aware of the prize money but how often do you see a team who has qualified in the Europa begin to take their foot off the pedal in the final couple of games' date=' and even play fringe players.[/quote'] Not very often if the team is in a position where they can win the group and be seeded with the four third-placed sides from the Champions League and guaranteed they will play the second leg at home.
