  1. Re: BBOTD Sat 31st august 2:40 Sandwon Music Theory 4/1 Ladbrokes Kingman's odds are too short because of the hype and the overreaction from the public. Music Theory won his last 2 races in impressive fashion and is a classy horse. Music Theory is the only front runner in this 4 runner-race and could get a soft lead and make all like in his last race. Barzalona has the ride, he is a smart jockey and I am sure he will take the lead soon. Musical Theory has a tactical advantage and 4/1 is good value in my opinion.

  3. Re: Fantastic value day 5 Royal Ascot An excellent opportunity for the Trifecta. I hate those sprint handicaps in which the rollover normally gets paid out. A Trifexta can be a really good bet, but only in competitive Group Races. In Group Races the Jockeys are trying every time to get a place. In ordinary handicaps the often ease down when they see that they can't win. I like to have this bet in races like today, or the Arc and the Melbourne Cup. Sometimes you get massive dividends. The Melbourne Cup Trifecta last year paid 48500 to a 1$ stake. The Arc 2011 Trifecta paid over 30k to a 1€ stake.

  4. Re: BBOTD - Saturday 25th May Curragh 3:20 Irish 2000 Guineas Gale Force Ten @ 9/1 Ladbrokes Gale Force Ten is a son of Oasis Dream. That means he needs fast ground, which he will get today for the first time. He was a very usefull colt at age 2 and he has trained on. He is also the highest rated horse in the field. Tody with good to firm ground he will have a massive chance of winning the irish 2000 Guineas.

  5. Re: BBOTD > Monday 20th May my bbotd is a non-runner. so I post another selection. 7.00 Roscommon Catchy Lass @ 10/1 William Hill lightly raced filly, who met lots of trouble in her last race. She didn't had a clear run several times, but still stayed on strongly to finsi 3rd. 1 length behind the winner. She is progressive with every start. I think 10/1 is too high for her chances.

  6. Re: BBOTD > Monday 20th May 8.10 Windsor: Aldwick Bay @ 16/1 boylesports I think this horse is well handicapped and can win from current mark.He is only 1lb higher than on last winning mark. His last run wasn't good, he finished 7th. But 12f isn't ideal for him. today's distance and course will suit him.

  7. Re: Antepost Thread 2013 I have mentioned Rasmeyaa above. But I didn't know where she would turn up. Now she is a confirmed runner in the 1000 Guineas. I backed her antepost at 22. I think this filly was really impressive when she won her maiden race in Leopardstown with 5,5 lengths. Dermot Welds filly clocked a very good time and won the race easily. From teh pedigree we can see that she is a Miler. Pat Smullen has the ride. I think she will be very hard to beat in the Guineas. She is still available at 16/1.

  8. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread tomorrow is the return of Igugu. She will be running in the QE2 Cup in Hong Kong. At first I thought that she was a hype horse in Dubai. But after I saw what she achieved in SA I changed my opinion. This horse is something special. She wasn't in her best form in Dubai. She was in season four times and had a bad quarantine-process. Mike de Kock said she was screaming in her stable. She clearly didn't like the environment. But now she is in top form again, according to de Kock. http://blog.summerhill.co.za/blog/tag/igugu And the race tomorrow will be run at her best distance (10f) and at a right handed track. She won 7 from 8 races at an right handed track and she won every time when she ran over 10f or more. I am very excited to see her tomorrow against the HK-stars Ambitious Dragon and California Memory. I think she should not be underestimated and she can turn the tables with Sajjhaa tomorrow. I backed her at 14/1 and I am looking forward to see that cracking race. The pace isn't that strong, maybe she can go away from the front like in this video:

  9. Re: Spread Betting And how the Spread Btting Firms make Profit? Do they have a rake, like in Pokerrooms? Do they close accounts of succesfull players? I am very interested in the Indices markets. Becuase when I think that a favourite is not going to win I can't lay it on BF because I am in Germany. Maybe this is the opportunity to make that knowledge pay.

  10. Re: Is betting on UK horse races with UK bookies whilst in Europe without acc gub pos I am located in Germany. Here we must pay 5% of the stake as tax. Because of that many bookies have banned german residents. William Hill, Coral, paddy power etc..have banned germans. But we can bet with Betfair ( no exchange, only fixed odds), Ladbrokes, Bet365 and Racebets. And we have access to the Tote ( which isn't as bad as many see it). If you take your betting seriously do not come to Germany. It is a nightmare for punters here. Our gouvernment does not accept EU-Rules and does not open the market for free competition.

  11. Re: Antepost Thread 2013

The difference here with the oaks...Is if they are both good enough to be in a G1 and fit. LN is 100% Guranteed to stay, and to turn up on the day. Tarana, for me , on the breeding, is a big question mark about staying, HHAG loves the french oaks, and JO would have to run her there if they were not 100% sure about distance. :ok
I'm pretty sure that she stays. Her dam won over 12f and her sire is Cape Cross, who also sired StS. And according to the racingpost is John Oxx hoping for Classic Glory with Tarana.
  12. Re: Antepost Thread 2013

The very best of luck' date=' but you have just chosen(imo), the hardest race to come up with the winner this year, if not most years, and does the epsom oaks, come high on either HHAG or JO agenda? Id want 25/1 her turning up there. L[b']IBER NAUTICUS at around 12/1, is a far more series individual, The race she took at Goodwood, was and is looking more special as each week passes.:D
thank you. I think she will turn up. JO plans to run her in the Oaks and hopes for Classic Glory. In my opinion is the achievement of Tarana far more impressvie than that from LN. But we will see. Another filly that interests me is Rasymeyaa, but don't knwo where she will turn up.
  13. What are your antepost selections for the 2013 Flat season ? Mine is Tarana to win the Epsom Oaks @ 25/1 Tarana is owned by HH Aga Khan and trained by John Oxx. She was very impressive and quickend well when she won her Maiden Race at the Curragh over 1m. Bronte tried to make all and set a steady pace when Tarana finished fast. Bronte was a lonely frontrunner and had a tactical advantage when Tarana beat her. It takes a very good horse to do that on her first run. Her pedigree suggests that she is best suited by middle distances and fast ground. Her sire is Cape Cross, who is a miler but sired one of the best 12f-horses (Sea the Stars) and her dam Tarakala won over 12f. Her next racecourse appearance will be in the Blue Wind Stakes in the middle of May. I think she is a very exiting horse and good contender for the Epsom Oaks. what did you back antepost?

  14. Re: BBOTD Sunday 7th 3:20 Curragh Nephrite at 11/4 William Hill (you can get 3/1 at racebets.com, but I don't know if this bookmaker counts in the bbotd-competition.) Back from 1 year pause. Probably been injured. Looked a classy colt in 2011, had lots of potential. Still lightly raced and open to improvement. His entries in Group Races suggest that AoB still believes in him. The young O'Brien has the ride.

  15. Re: Guineas

In the early days of the Godolphin operation, Sheikh Mohammed took the very best of his horses from his various trainers and wintered them in Dubai to be trained by H Ibrahim and subsequently SB Suroor. They traditionally returned on the week of the Guineas meeting where they often tasted success. The theory was that the hotter climate gave the horses an edge over the domestically horses. The operation has grown to what we know it today, with them training most of their horses from scratch. Obviously when they have around 300 horses ,some of them are going to end up handicappers rather than Group horses. So when they have a flop or two, it's down to other reasons rather than the Dubai climate.
But why did the leave Dawn Approach in the Uk with Jim Bolger?
  16. Re: SATURDAY 30TH March 2013 BBOTD. 4:40 Meydan Dubai Duty Free Sajjhaa at 7/1 LadbrokesA nice filly who improved a lot in her time in Dubai. She won all of her 3 starts, the last was the Jebel Hatta (Grp.1).She won 2 races over C&D and in the Balanchine (Grp.2) she broke the track record over todays course and distance.
