  1. Re: BBOTD Saturday 19th of November 3.20 Ascot 1 point win Fix the Rib 25/1 Ladbrokes, BOG His Chase form is 111121F35. An impressive 5 Chase wins from 9 attempts, including his last victory which was here 2 years ago in this race. His previous race was also here, when he finished a close second, so he's proven his liking for the course. His last 3 Chase outings resulted in the disappointing form figures of F35 but those were all Grade 2 races. He's dropped back to a Class 2 race here and is running off just 1lb higher than when successful in this race in 2009. To win first time tomorrow out after an absence of 574 days would be no mean training achievement but Gary Moore may prove up to the task. Fix the Rib is only 8 years old and if fit and back to the form of two years ago he should go close. If not fit and ready he will be out of the frame so it's a win only bet for me at a tasty looking 25/1.

  2. Re: BBOTD Friday 18th of November 3.20 Ascot 1 point win Vincitore at 7/1 Paddy Power, BOG Vincitore won his two last races over fences, both novice chases. His Chase form is 311. Tougher task now he's in handicap company but appears willing and progressive. Same jockey partners him as for each of his 3 Chase runs. In fact his jockey, Felix de Giles, has won on 27% of horses he has ridden for trainer Charlie Longsdon this season. Longsdon is having a very successful season. He has won with 32% of his chasers so far this season, (25% of handicap chasers have won) and an incredible 54% of his chasers this season have finished 1st or 2nd.

  3. Re: BBOTD Thursday 17th of November 1.05 Wincanton, Heir To Be 0.5 points each way at 14/1 Paddy Power, BOG. Heir To Be is 12 years old and is 10 lbs higher than when winning here in October, so his chance is far from obvious. However he really likes it round here. His form figures over hurdles at Wincanton is P112. (The P was back in 2006). His second here was last month under a 9lb penalty. He was beaten comfortably by 10 L by My Brother Sylvester but had the 3rd comfortably 9 L back in 3rd. After defeating the selection at Wincanton, My Brother Sylvester, off a 7lb higher mark, went on to win his next race comfortably, at Haydock, wining by 4.5 L eased down and completing a three timer in the process. He is clearly progressive. Take My Brother Sylvester out of his last Wincanton race and Heir To Be's hurdle course form improves to P111. At 14/1 he looks worth a decent each way chance.

  4. Re: BBOTD - Wednesday, 16th of November

1.10 Hexham 1 point win Pegasus Prince at 3/1' date= Ladbrokes BOG Money coming in for this one as I type. Significant after a long lay off. Fair hurdler last season and is running over fences first time in a handicap off a reasonable mark. Trainer does well here and has a 50% strike record with his runners here this season, 2 wins from 4 runners.
£25,000 asking to back this horse on Betfair at the moment at 4.2-4.3.

  6. Re: BBOTD Tuesday 15th of November 1.40 Fakenham. Roc De Guye 1 point win at 5/1 Paddy Power, BOG Roc De Guye has only managed one win from 11 attempts over fences. But that win was in this race last year, his only visit thus far to the course. He was unfancied that day, going off at 20/1 having touched 40/1. He was always travelling well and won comfortably by 9 lengths. A return to that form would be good enough. The same pilot is on board and conditions are similar. Trainer, James Evans has won with two of his four runners here over the last 5 years, including this feller last year.

  7. Re: BBOTD Monday 14th of November

1 point win Penny Max at 11/4 Paddy Power' date= BOG Trainer Emma Lavelle has won with 50% of her chasers first time out in the last year. Penny Max won on his first race last season so is capable of winning first time out. He also went close to winning in his one Point to Point race which augurs well for this, his first outing over the bigger obstacles. Reportedly he has done well over the summer.
He runs in the 2.3) at Plumpton. I'll get the hang of this, eventually :unsure

  9. Re: BBOTD Sunday 13th of November 1.10 Cheltenham 1 point win Court in Sesssion at 13/2 vc.bet. Price taken after the non-runners. Two non runners here. Top weight Lancetto and Paul Nicholls' second string Toulab. Nicholls says Al Ferof will come on for this run. Most of Nicholls previous winners in this race had chase experience. Court in Session a very interesting runner. Doing very well over hurdle presently so connections must see some serious potential over fences to put him in this race. Multiple Point to Point winner.

  10. Re: BBOTD Saturday 12th of November

Loosen My Load 0.5 point each way vc.bet at 20/1 BOG. vc.bet go 1/3 odds 1,2,3,4. Very useful novice. 3rd in The Jewson 5L behind Wishful Thinking. Has 11lb pull in the weights today. Disappointing lto but maybe neither ground nor distance suited. Back at Cheltenham over a trip and grond that suits he ought to be thereabouts. Trainer is becoming a bit of a Cheltenham specialist too.
2.35 Cheltenham. Paddy Power Gold Cup.

  12. Re: BBOTD - Friday, 11th of November 1.10 Cheltenham. 0.5 points each way Hills Pigeon Island at 12/1. BOG Quirky character who loves it round here having won twice, including the Grand Annual in 2010. Running on when 3rd at Ludlow over 3 miles in March so trip looks OK if jockey can get a song out of him. Crack amateur Derek O'Connor is on board so he couldn't get a better pilot for this contest.

  13. Re: BBOTD Thursday 10th of November 1 point win Ange Guerrier 1.40pm Taunton. 13/2 Sportingbet. Big drifter in the market today makes him a value bet, I think. Pulled hard in all his three runs to date. First effort in a handicap. If he can settle he could deliver the goods. Trainer, Nicholls, has won with 14 of his 38 hurdle runners at the course.

  14. Re: BBOTD - Wednesday, 9th of November 4.10 Bangor Saudi Pearl 1 point win at 5/1 Boyles BOG Alan King has won with 4 out of 15 of his bumper runners at the course. This feller cost £22000 guineas and is well related to a number of winners. Being just a 3 year old he get's a massive weight concession of 16lbs from all but 2 of the older horses. The older fillies have to give him 9lbs.

  15. Re: BBOTD Tuesday 8th of November

2.10 Lingfield Voltigger Hill. 0.5 point each wat at 8/1 vc.bet. BOG Reasoning follows very soon.
Useful over bumpers 2 seasons ago, including his last run where he was 3rd to Cue Card. First run over hurdles today and his trainer, Charlie Mann, does well with his hurdlers here, with 3 wins from his 6 runners.
  16. Re: BBOTD Monday 7th of November

3.30 Carlisle Teenando 1 point win Ladbrokes at 16/1. His Chase course record speaks for itself. 4 wins and a 2nd from 7 outings. Phenomenal. He's got a nice light weight, will be happy with the ground and his trainer Sue Smith does well here. Not surprisingly with this feller repeatedly delivering the goods. 16/1 Apologies to fellow Newbie LJD for tipping the same horse. I hadn't visited here when I made my selection.
Minor correction to my reasoning above. Teenando is 4 wins from 7 "completed" Chases at Carlisle. Has competed in 8 Chases here and was unseated once at the last fence when in 2nd place and 2 lengths adrift.
