Sport Ice Hockey Event HC Ambri Piotta - HC Davos Selection HC Davos (Money Line) Strength 10/10 Date 02/01/2012 Bookmaker/Price Bwin @ 1.72 Reasoning I`ll take this now because I`m sure the odds will go down. The HC Davos will head to Valascia Arena to meet the HC Ambri Piotta for the 3rd time this season after winning the first two (4-1 at home, 2-1 in overtime on road). Davos is 3rd in the league, 18-5-2-10 record, 106:86 goals and on a 3-game winning streak, last time beating the EHC Biel by 3-1 at home (4 wins in last 5). They just won the Spengler Cup, beating Dinamo Riga (from Kontinental Hockey League) 3-2 in the final and I`m sure the moral will be great to continue their winning streak in the NLA. Ambri Piotta, a very modest team in recent years, and even though they showed something different this season, they are still only 10th with 8-5-6-15 and 75:102 goals (worst offense in the league). Yes they have won 4 of their last 5, yes they beat Zurich, Zug and Bern in that period, but still they are one of the weekest team on home ground (4-3-3-7, 35:44 goals). Davos has a winning streak over Ambri of 7 in a row right now and honestly I`m not sure that they will make the same play (comeback from 0-2 like in the SCB match to win it 4-3 or any other) with HCD even though they are not that convincing when on road (6-4-1-6). Win HC Davos. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Tampa Bay Lightning - Carolina Hurricanes Selection Tampa Bay Lightning (Money Line) Strength 10/10 Date 01/01/2012 Bookmaker/Price Gamebookers @ 1.67 Reasoning Third meeting of the season between the Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning, but just for the first time at St. Pete Times Forum with both teams getting a piece after the first two (Carolina 4-2, Tampa 5-1). The Lightning are 12th in the Eastern Conference with 35 points, 16-17-3, 99:120 goals and looking better lately, coming now from their 2nd straight win (4th of their last 6), at home against the Montreal Canadiens by 4-3. They will miss Shannon, Connoly and Ohlund while Hedman and Thompson are doubtfull. On the other side Carolina is 14th in the East with 32 points, 13-20-6, 101:130 goals clearly improving their home record which at one time was the weekest in the league, winning 4 of their last 6 at RBC Center. In their previous round they came back at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs and make it 4-3 in overtime to get their 3rd win of their last 4 games played, so a plus in the recent form as well. The Canes will still have Skinner out who leads the team in points (12+12=24) along with Pitkanen and goalie Boucher, while Dwyer is questionable. Even though the Hurricanes have improoved their home record (as they should), they are a very modest team when on road with just 4-10-4, 47GF and 66GA (-19), on a 4-game losing streak. Their recent form with the 3 wins in last 4 was mainly because of the success on home ice (all were wins at RBC Center) and counting the fact that Tampa Bay who got back St. Louis will still have Stamkos (leading the league in goals) on who is 7+3 in his last seven games I think this could go into the hosts favor. Tampa is 10-5-0, 51:43 goals at home, on a 3-game winning streak, so another plus for them to win this.

Last time (last season) the Capitals were winning 4-3 in overtime in a crazy game in which there were scored 4 goals in a little over 3 minutes. Washington are 10th in the East with 40 points, 19-15-2 and 107:107 goals, winning their 2nd straight game, at home against the Sabres, 3-1. The Caps are not as balanced as in previous two season (so far) going strong when on home ice (13-6-1) but still under .500 when on road (6-10-1). For this one they will have Poti out while Green and Perreault are doutfull. Columbus is the weekest in the league, bottom of the Western Conference with 25 points, 10-22-5 record, 91:124 goals, snapping a 6-game losing streak with a surprising road win over the Dallas Stars, 4-1 (+net goal). Martinek, Huselius and Wisniewski will miss this one for the Jackets while Sanford is doubtfull. Even though the Capitals have been very modest (for their expectations) on road this season, now they will be facing a team that when it wins, it ussualy a surprise, a team that proved on many occasions that is not even close of threatening the playoff zone with matches when they give up a 4-1 and others. After two good, clear and motivating straight wins over the Rangers and Sabres, now they will head to Columbus who are the worst in the league and with 6-10-3 at home, winning just 1 of their last 7 games played at Nationwide Arena. Counting on these facts I think the Caps have the better chance of winning this one. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Montreal Canadiens - Columbus Blue Jackets Selection Montreal Canadiens -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 07/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Boylesports @ 3.00 Reasoning For my 2nd one of this round I will be looking into the meeting between the Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets at Bell Centre. This will be the first and only one of the season between the two, last year the Jackets won it 3-0 on home ice. Montreal, 10th in the East, 11-11-5, snapped a bad 4-game losing streak last time on road against the Los Angeles Kings, 2-1. Markov, Campoli and White will be out for the Habs in this one, while Gomez and Spacek are day-to-day. Columbus, bottom of the West, 7-16-3, weekest team in the league at the moment and not to bright in their form as well, last time losing their 3rd of the last 4 on road to the Edmonton Oilers, 3-6. Martinek will be out, while Carter is day-to-day. They are a real menace on road this season, and I don`t mean that in a good way, they have the worst road record(2-9-2) and gave up more goals then every team in the league (29:55). Montreal showed some change from the 5-game losing streak that they started the season at Bell Centre, now winning 4 of their last 8 having most of their productive players available on top with Plekanec (6+16) with a total of 22 points. Counting the fact that every time that Montreal won this season on home ice, they did it in a by way (5-1 ag. Flyers, 4-2 ag. Bruins, 4-0 ag. Carolina, 4-0 ag. Rangers), I don`t know why they wouldn`t do that against the weekest team on road this season who is playing their 4th straight away game. My pick for this one will be for the Montreal Canadiens to win it by 2 or more goals. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Winnipeg Jets - Boston Bruins Selection Boston Bruins -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 07/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Boylesports @ 3.30 Reasoning The Boston Bruins will head to MTS Centre to take on the Winnipeg Jets for the 2nd time this season after beating them on home ice 4-2. The Jets, 11th in the East, 11-11-4, look like clear victims in this one, even though coming to this with a 2-game winning streak, losing just one of their last six played on home ice. They will have Aaron Gagnon, Derek Meech, Tobias Enstrom, Randy Jones and Brett Festerling out while Eric Fehr, Nik Antropov and Ron Hainsey questionable. Boston, 2nd in the East, 17-7-1 is really on a roll right now, 4-game winning streak, losing just one of their last fifteen, beating the Penguins last time on road 3-1. With the B`s packing a healthy lineup there is not doubt that they will have the first shot of taking this. Even though with good success lately on home ice, the Jets will have many problems in the ussual lineup and last but not least they will have to take on a team who is 7-2-0 on road so far, with a 6-game winning streak there as well. My confident pick in this one is for the Boston Bruins to win it by 2 or more goals. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Visp - Chaux de Fonds Selection 1 Strength 10/10 Date 06/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Betsson @ 2.00 Reasoning Today my pick will be from the National League B, 2nd ice hockey league of Swizerland with the Chaux de Fonds heading to Litternahalle to meet the EHC Visp for the 3rd time this season. In the previous two Visp came on top in both occassions, once on road by 5-3 and once at home by 4-2. Chaux de Fonds is now ranking 4th in the league with 42 points, 13-1-1-10, 88:75 goals, snapped a 2-game losing streak with a win at home over Ajoie, 5-3, still with just 4 positive results in their last 10. On the other side, Visp is 2nd with 49 points, 14-3-1-7, 106:75 goals, best ofensive in the league, on a 2-game winning streak with the help of the success last time on road against 2nd best team in home games Langenthal, 4-2. The Visp look like a very decent team on home ice so far, with 8-0-0-4, 56:36 goals, winning 3 of their last 5, facing a team like Chaux de Fonds who although is 4-1-0-7, 32:36 goals on road, they have won just once in their last six away games. Counting the fact the success that Visp had so far especially against Chaux de Fonds who last season was losing 4 out of 5 in regular and 3 out of 7 in the playoffs, and the recent form of the two teams I think the hosts in this one have the first chance to win. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Brynas - Skelleftea Selection 2 Strength 10/10 Date 05/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Betsson @ 3.00 Reasoning Today in the swedish Elitserien I propose to you the match at Läkerol Arena where Brynas Gavle will be hosting the Lulea HF. Previous meetings this season: Lulea - BRYNAS 5-6OT Brynas - LULeA 0-1 After a good 4-game winning streak, Brynas (13-4-2-9 / W-Wo-Lo-L) , 2nd in the league with 49 points gave up the leader`s spot to HV-71 in the previous round because of a loss on road against the Timra IK, 1-3. Today`s hosts will have Simon Lof, Johan Holmqvist, Sebastian Lauritzen, Jonas Nordquist and Andreas Dackell out for this one. Lulea (11-2-7-7) is not so far behind, ranking 5th with 44 points, coming from their 2nd loss of the last 3, at home against the Djurgardens, letting down a 2-0 lead for 4-5OT in the end. Today`s guests won`t be able to use players like Luke Kilstrom, Sebastian Enterfeldt, Daniel Mannberg si Cam Abbott. Even though the recent form somewhat favors Brynas, they haven`t been that decisive on home ice, being the best in the league in road games, but at Läkerol Arena are 6-2-0-6. So with goalie Holmqvist out of the lineup, the one who played better so far this season with 92.07 SVS% in 27 games played (compared to Svedberg, 91.25 SVS% in 25 games) along with point producers like Lauritzen, Nordquist, I think Brynas will be weeker today and it`s a good chance for them to get their 2nd straight loss. Lulea is a decent team when on road, actually a little bit more convincing then on home ice, with a 5-2-1-6 record, on a 4-game winning streak, beating in the previous two road games good teams like Skelleftea (3-2OT) and HV-71 (3-1). Win Lulea HF in regular time is my pick for this one. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Kladno - Sparta Prague Selection Sparta Prague -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 04/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Paddy Power @ 3.20 Reasoning Today in the czech Extraliga the Sparta Prague will head to Zimnà Stadion to meet the Kladno for the third time this season with the visitors having no luck after the first two, both won by today`s hosts. Sparta Prague is leading the league with 53 points, 17-3-6 record, 81:50, 2nd best offense and best defense, coming from their 4th straight win, at home against the Slavia Prague, 2-1OT. On the other side, Kladno has shown something different after the team was bought by the great Jagr (@Flyers) but still they are just 9th with 36 points, 12-12-2 record, and 65:71 goals. In the previous round they were getting their 2nd loss in a row, on road to Kometa Brno, 0-1, winning just 4 of their last 10 now. I Sparta lost some games in their last 10, those were on home ice, but when it comes to road games they are at their best, actually they are the best in the league 10-2-2, 48:28 goals and on a 5-game winning streak. Kladno although way better on home ice (8-5-1) then on road (4-7-1) so far this season, they are still a modest team and I think that Sparta Prague starts with the first chance in this one. Counting the fact the difference in form, the record between the two (Kladno`s record at homea against Sparta`s record on road) and the fact that Kladno are just +7 in goals at Zimnà Stadion and Sparta is +20 on road, best in the league, I think that the team from Prague who won 4 of their last 5 by 2 or more goals could do it here again. Win by 2 or more goals Sparta Prague. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Dallas Stars - New York Islanders Selection Dallas Stars -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 04/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price William Hill @ 2.90 Reasoning The New York Islanders will continue their road trip now to American Airlines Center where the Dallas Stars will be waiting. The Islanders, 7-11-5, got points in their last 3 straight games now, all on road where they haven`t managed to do much. Last time they lost it at Chicago, 4-5OT, and by so snapping a 2-game winning streak. They will miss Nabokov, Eaton, Pandolfo and McDonald for this one. On the other side, Dallas, 15-9-1, even though with some injuries (Lehtonen, Goligoski, Daley, Morrow, Burish), they have managed to keep it up, that`s how last time at home against Ottawa (3-2) they won their 4th game in their last 6. This will be the first of two meetings between the two teams and in my oppinion, Stars who have been so consistant on home ice, now with a 9-3-1 record, 3 wins in their last 4, have a chance of getting a win today with a very week team like the Islanders who have shown just lately some real playing on road. My pick for this one is for the Stars who are on a better road and have a better form to win it by 2 or more goals. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event SaiPa - Jyvaskyla Selection Jyvaskyla -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 03/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Sportingbet @ 3.00 Reasoning Today in the finnish SM-Liiga the JYP Jyvaskyla will head to Kisapuiston jäähalli to meet just for the 2nd time this season the SaiPa after a 5-4OT win at home for the JYP in the first. Jyvaskyla, 7th in the league with 42 points, 15-12-1 and 68:54 goals started the season very modestly, winning just 1 of their first 7, but it looks like they are pass that, in their previous round getting a clear 6-0 win at home over Tappara, their 2nd in their last 3 games. On the other side, SaiPa is steam a little team, bottom of the table (14th), 8-14-5 and 63:81 goals they gave up last time their 6th of their last 7 games, at Tappara, 0-1OT. The form favors Jyvaskyla at the moment who in their last 10 they are 7-3-0, 29:12 goals, while SaiPa is doing a modest job with just 3-4-3, 19:23 goals. SaiPa is the worst team in the league on home ice, 4-7-2, 31:35 and most importantly they haven`t changed that lately, losing now 6 of their last 7, last 3 in a row. Jyvaskyla is a decent team on road, and I think they have the first chance of blowing this match away against the weekest team in the league. Win by 2 or more goals, Jyvaskyla. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Chicago Blackhawks - New York Islanders Selection Chicago Blackhawks -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 03/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price William Hill @ 2.40 Reasoning For my 2nd choice we will head to United Center where the Chicago Blackhawks will be hosting the New York Islanders, teams meeting for the 2nd time this season after a 5-0 in the first for the Hawks who would like to show some consistancy after winning 2 in their last 3 games. Chicago, 4th in the West with 31 points, 14-8-3, snapped a 2-game winning streak last time with a loss here at United Center against the Coyotes, 1-4. Counting the fact that Seabrook, Bolland and Montador were decleared fit for this meeting despite their miss from the practice, the Blackhawks will be packing healthy "guns" in the lineup. Islanders, bottom of the East with only 18 points, 7-11-4, even though they have now won their 2nd sraight, previously beating the Sabres on road, 2-1 (after 3-2 at New Jersey), funny enough those were their first wins on foreign ground this season, coming one after the other. The New York team will have to deal without Nabokov, Eaton and Pandolfo in this one. So there isn`t more factors to point out for this meeting with the 2-5-2 road record of the Islanders, the power that the Hawks still hold on home ice with the 7-2-2 record (5 wins in the last 7 games) and their first meeting of the season which ended in a 5-0 Chicago victory here at United Center, but maby that the Blackhawks have a bone to pick with this team from New York against which they gave up 6 of their last 7 meetings. I will go for a straight win in this one as well for the Chicago Blackhawks, confident that the weekest offense in the league in road games (the Islanders of course) won`t be able to keep up with the adversary`s one. Win by 2 or more Chicago Blackhawks. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Buffalo Sabres - Detroit Red Wings Selection 2 Strength 10/10 Date 03/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Titanbet @ 2.40 Reasoning My first pick of the night will come from the first of two meetings between the Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings. Buffalo are 7th in the East with 27 points, 13-10-1, going through a "grey" period, last time losing their 4th of the last 5 games, at home against the modest New York Islanders, 1-2. They will have Leopold out for this one while Ennis and Kaleta will be game-time decisions. Detroit, 2nd in the West, 31 points, 15-7-1 and in comeback mode, on a 6-game winning streak at the moment, beating the Tampa Bay Lightning last time at home, 4-2. Either then Eaves who is missing from last weekend, the Wings look to be in perfect health. This meeting in my oppinion is not favorable for Buffalo in my oppinon, even though their slump has to end eventually, I don`t think this time will be the case. Along with the 6-game winning streak that they`re on, the Red Wings have shifted the direction that they were on on road, following 5 straight losses with now wins in their last 3 in a row. Buffalo counting the fact that they have done a little better on road so far, they have managed to lose 4 of their last 5 games at HSBC Arena, 3 of which were in regular time (actually just 1 out of the 8 losses have gone into overtime). My bet on this one will be for Detroit to continue their great form with a win today over Buffalo. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Ingolstadt ERC - Eisbaren Belin Selection Ingolstadt ERC -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 02/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Paddy Power @ 3.50 Reasoning Another round of the german DEL will be played today and the match that I`m interested in is the one at Saturn Arena where there will be a heck of a meeting between the Ingolstadt ERC and the Eisbaren Berlin. This actually will be their 3rd meeting of the season with the Eisbaren winning the first two, once at home and once on road (3-2, 5-4) but in both situation going to distantce (penalty shots and overtime). This pick will be based on the success that Ingolstadt is having so far this season, ranking 3rd with 40 points (2 less then the leader Hamburg), 13-6-3 record and 67:56 goals, coming from their 4th win in their last 5 games, this time on road, 4-3 against the Hannover Scorpions and the fact that Eisbaren who has been one of the top teams in the league in the last few years is showing signs of backing up, now 6th with 34 points, 13-7-0, 66:54 goals. The Berlin team is in modest shape lately, losing their 2nd straight match by a difference of at least 2 goals (at home, 4-6 to Krefeld after 2-5 at Wolfsburg), winning just 2 of their last 5. Ingolstadt is a balanced team on home ice with 7-3-1 and on road where they are the best in the league with 6-3-2. With the form factors of the recent games I think that Ingolstadt has a good chance to break the ice for the first time this season, one clue that the Eisbaren dominance in the DEL was somewhat fading is that last season they gave up 5 out of 8 against the ERC, only once not by 2 or more goals. I will add to this streak of Eisbaren the fact that they have now lost 4 of their last 5 road games. So my pick will be for Ingolstadt ERC to win it by 2 or more goals today, take advantage of these things and break the ice. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Calgary Flames - Columbus Blue Jackets Selection Calgary Flames -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 02/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price 5Dimes @ 3.15 Reasoning The Columbus Blue Jackets (6-15-3) will head to Scotiabank Saddledome to take on the Calgary Flames (10-12-1) for the 2nd time this season. In the first one the Jackets won it 4-1 on home ice. The Flames showing something different lately, last time they got their 2nd straight win, at home against Nashville Predators, 1-0. After a 3-game winning drout at Scotiabank Saddledome, they have now won 2 of their last 3 (last 2 straight). No need for any other description on the other side where Columbus lies, a very modest team that clearly is bound to fail this season as well, now coming to Calgary with a 1-8-2 road record, -24 goals in that category. The Blue Jackets will have Mason questionable while the flames should have a healthy lineup. So without further ado I think Calgary is the favorite here and that`s why I will take them for a win by 2 or more goals. Columbus makes the situation much more easier for the Flames because they are 24th out of 30 in powerplay and 29th in penalty kill. -
Sport Ice Hockey Event HV71 - Djurgardens Selection 1 Strength 10/10 Date 01/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Sportingbet @ 1.85 Reasoning Today in the Elitserien I will look into the match at the Kinnarps Arena where the HV71 will be hosting the Djurgardens. This will be the 3rd meeting of the season with none of them having success on home ice in the first two, HV71 winning at Ericsson Globe 3-2 and Djurgardens here at Kinnarps 2-1. HV71 is now ranking 2nd in the league with 45 points, 16-8-2, 83:66 goals, going through a week period, last time handing over the leader spot to Brynas with a loss on road, 3-4 and by so extend the losing streak to 3. They will have some problems with injuries in this one, with Trygg, Standberg, Tholander and Fasth out for this one but with good news as well, with Piros and Thornberg back in the lineup. Djurgardens, just 9th with 35 points, 12-10-3, 62:68 goals, giving up their 2nd one in their last 3, this time at home against MODO, 3-5. They will only miss Carlsson for this one. Even though the HV71 are in a bit of a slump lately, winning just 2 of their last 7, with 3 straight losses at Kinnarps Arena, I think they have a good chance despite their injuries, against Djurgardens who even though has a better record then on home ice, they are still a pretty inconsistent team this season, unable to connect more then 2 wins in a row. No surprise in my oppinion with HV71 who after 8 wins in 9 games played at Kinnarps they gave up the next 3 in a row because that`s how hockey goes sometimes. Like I said I am confident that they will do a better job this time, coming to this with a +12 goals against -6 of Djurgardens on road, losing 3 of their last 4 where we add a 0-5 shutout at AIK. Win HV71 in regular time is my pick. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Detroit Red Wings - Tampa Bay Lightning Selection Detroit Red Wings -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 01/12/2011 Bookmaker/Price Betway @ 2.75 Reasoning No doubt about it, the Detroit Red Wings (14-7-1) are a force on home ice, actually they are best in the league in that category, now heading back home at Joe Louis Arena for the 2nd straight game (after winning against Nashville 4-1), this time to face the Tampa Bay Lightning (11-10-2) for the 1st and only time this season. The Lightning seem to be inconsistent in their results recently, coming from a loss at Minnesota, winning now just 3 of their last 5. Downie will be back for this road game, while Ohlund will miss this one as well for Tampa. Eaves and Mursak will be out for the Wings, while Franzen who missed the practice said that he will be in the lineup. All point into Detroit`s direction in this one in my oppinion, with Tampa Bay going throught and inconsistent period, winning just 1 of their last 4 road games for a total of 4-7-2 (weeker then on home ice, 7-3-0) while Red Wings are like I said, best in the league on home ice, ALL their wins ending by a difference of at least 2 goals. If there is a team to challenge the great form that the Bruins are having, that is Detroit, who has now won 9 of their last 11, on a 5-game winning streak as well as wins in their last 5 at Joe Louis Arena. I am confident that the Detroit will do a great job again on home ice and will win it by 2 or more goals...again. Another fact is that the Red Wings have beaten the Lightning in the last 5 meetings, only once not by 2 or more goals. -

An unfortunate turn for Toronto who is now ranking 3rd in the East with 30 points winning last time their 3rd straight (5-2 at Anaheim), the longest winning streak they have manage to sustain so far this season, now facing the Bruins who are one of the hottest teams at the moment and last but not least had a dissappointing performance this far. Even though with important injuries in the roster, the Leafs have managed to bring it up anyway, now with Armstrong, Komisarek, Lombardi out, while Steckel and Gunnarsson are day-to-day, with some positive news as well by the name of Grabovski who is fit to play against Boston. The thing that I`m going to base this is not only of the Leafs injuries but by the late success that happend mostly because of good results on road games (the 3 out of their last 4 wins were on road), while on home ice they have managed to lose 4 of their last 5. The Bruins have won the last 4 straight road games and counting the superior form (11 wins in their last 12 games) I think they are the favorites and will sure have a shot at another big score against the Maple Leafs today as well. I will hand this to the Boston Bruins who in my oppinion has the offensive power to end it in regular time. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Colorado Avalanche - Dallas Stars Selection Colorado Avalanche -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 29/11/2011 Bookmaker/Price William Hill @ 3.20 Reasoning The 2nd match that I would like to predict in this round of the National Hockey League is the 3rd meeting of the season between the Colorado Avalanche (10-12-1) and Dallas Stars (13-9-1), again on Pepsi Center where the Avs won it 3-0 earlier (7-6OT was the other meeting in Dallas for the Stars). Even though both teams look to be in a very modest form lately, winning just 2 times in their last 4, I see the Avalanche with the upper hand here, coming from a decent performance against the pesky Edmonton Oilers, 5-2 in this 4th game of this home stand (2 wins in 4 games so far). Colorado will have Mueller and Johnson out, same as with the Oilers. Dallas on the other hand won`t be able to use Goligoski, Burish, Delay, Fiddler and Morrow, all out due to injuries. The Stars who went 5-2-0 in their first 7 road games of the season, find themselves in a hole, losing their last 4 straight (1-3 at Pittsburgh, 2-5 at Detroit, 0-3 at Colorado and 0-3 at Phoenix). I will go for a win by 2 or more for the Colorado Avalanches in this one, the Avs having good success this season around the Stars net (in the 6-7OT loss in Dallas they had a 2-0, 5-4 lead). -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Minnesota Wild - Tampa Bay Lightning Selection Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 29/11/2011 Bookmaker/Price Betsson @ 3.70 Reasoning It may look pretentious but it`s not in my oppinion. Tampa Bay (11-9-2) is a dangerous team at as well as on road, even thought they are just 4-6-2 away from St. Pete Times Forum. They will be catching Minnesota Wild (13-7-3) who even thought they are 8-4-1 on home ice, they have a 2-game losing streak on their hands, both at Xcel Energy Center, both with the same score of 2-5 (ag. Oilers and Calgary). To make it even better they will still without key players Zidlicky and Latendresse, where we add Lundin and Zanon. The Lightning will surely hope more from this meeting as they are coming from a back-to-back win over the vicious Florida Panthers (2-1OT on road, 5-1 at home), missing just Ohlund and Downie. I will take Tampa Bay for a win by 2 or more goals, confident that they have better chance of continuing their winning streak then the Wild to snap their losing streak. -

New York Islanders, bottom of the Eastern Conference, 14 points, 5-11-4 record and 38:66 goals, didn`t do anything out of the ordinary excepting the 3-game winning streak in their first 4 of the season, now on a 4-game losing streak, winning just 1 of their last 9. Nabokov and Eaton will be on injured reserve for the Isles for this one. New Jersey Devils, a new face for this season, 8th in the East with 25 points, 12-8-1 and 55:55 goals, winning their 4th of their last 5 games, against Islanders on road, 1-0. The Devils Zajac, Boulton and Josefson are on injured reserve. New Jersey looks like another team mentaly, now on a 5-game winning streak against the Islanders who by the way have yet to win a road game this season, the only team that so far didn`t get one in regular, extra time or penalty shots (0-5-2). Excepting the 2 games in which they managed to get points by going into extra-time, the NY Islanders lost all meetings by at least 2 goals difference, last time shut down by the Penguins, 0-5. The Devils have room for improvement on home ice where they are only 5-3-1 and this I think is in their favor. Although the New Jersey`s offense is a bit slow when it comes to home ice, they will face a team who are -19 in goals on road in 7 games played, so I bet that they will have more success against this one then any other team in the league. My pick is for New Jersey Devils to win it by 2 or more goals. -

On the other side, Lukko who had a period with only 1 win in 7 games, now have won 2 straight, both against Espoo (on road and at home). Frolunda is ranked 2nd in the league with 3 points less then the leader HV71 (42), 14-6-3 record and 59:39 goals, coming from their 2nd straight win, this time at home against Djurgardens, 4-3 after penalty shots. Absoluntly funny as hell, Frolunda is the best team in the league on home ice, 11-1-1, but the worst when it comes to road games, with just 3-5-2, losing now 7 of their last 8 games away from home. Skelleftea is doing a decent job so far at home, 6-3-2, 27:28, ranking now 5th in the league with 39 points, on a 3-game losing streak, but still they have managed to win 2 of their last 3 at Skellefteå Kraft Arena. I believe that the home side, although they now lost 7 of their last 10, have a decent chance of beating Frolunda clearly because of their opposite performances on road this season. My pick is for Skelleftea to win it by 2 or more goals. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event Boston Bruins - Detroit Red Wings Selection Boston Bruins -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 25/11/2011 Bookmaker/Price Bwin @ 3.10 Reasoning For my 3rd and last pick of the day I`m going to take a shot at the derby between the Boston Bruins (13-7-0) and Detroit Red Wings (12-7-1) which is played at TD Garden, with teams meeting for the first and only time this season. The Bruins have a big bone to pick with the Red Wings against which they have now lost 3 of the last 4 meetings (last 2 in a row) and I think they have a shot here with the 10-game winning streak that the B`s are on. Detroit is on a winning streak as well, taking their last 3rd in a row last time at home against Calgary, 5-3. They will have Franzen and Stuart uncertain for this one, while Mursak is out. With the full healty roster of Boston and the streak that they are on, adding to this the fact that they have won now 6 straight at TD Garden, only once not by 2 or more goals, and that was against the surprising Blue Jackets (2-1OT). A true fact for the Red Wings this season so far is that even though they have one of the best records in the league on home ice (8-2-1), they lack that on road, where they are only 4-5-0, 19:24 goals, winning their last 2 but not after losing 5 straight. I see the Bruins who have around 3.5 goals per match on home ice to take their payback against Detroit who look unstable on road (the Red Wings two inconstant teams, Anaheim and Los Angeles, scoring in both 4 goals, which doesn`t prove anything in my oppinion). My pick in this one is for the Bruins to end the streak and win it by 2 or more goals. -

Sport Ice Hockey Event New York Islanders - New Jersey Devils Selection 2 (ML) Strength 10/10 Date 25/11/2011 Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 1.80 Reasoning My 2nd one of the they that catched my eye was from the NHL with the New Jersey Devils (11-8-1) heading to New York to face the Islanders (5-10-4) for the 1st time this season. Looks like the Devils are on a big of a good streak right now, passed the 1 win in 6 games, now winning 7 of their last 10, following up the 5-game road trip from which they got 3 wins with another one, their 3rd of the last 4 overall at home against Columbus, 2-1OT. The Islanders on the other hand, even though got some surprising wins in the start of the season, they haven`t managed to light that fire since, now with just 2 wins in their last 15 (on a 3-game losing streak), last time letting up to the Flyers at home, 3-4OT. The Devils will miss Josefson, Boulton and Zajac, while the Islanders won`t be able to use Eaton and goalie Nabokov. In these conditions where we find New Jersey coming back with decent results lately on road, beating teams like Tampa Bay and Buffalo, I believe that they have the better form and moral and last but not least wins in their last 4 meetings against the Islanders. The Islanders keep a 5-5-2 record on home ice but with only 27 goals scored and 35 against, from which 10 of the (GA) came in their last 2 (who they lost) at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Win New Jersey Devils will be my first choice for this one. -

Budejovice Selection 2 (ML) Strength 10/10 Date 25/11/2011 Bookmaker/Price Ladbrokes @ 1.80 Reasoning My first one of the day will come from the czech Extraliga, where the Ceske Budejovice will head to KV Arena to meet the Energie Karlovy Vary for the 2nd time this season after winning at home 4-3OT in the first. Huge difference between the Karlovy Vary from few years ago and from this season, now ranking penultimate (13th) with just 23 points after 24 rounds, 7-13-4 record, 66:82 goals. In the previous round they lost their 2nd straight, on road at Plzen, 4-5. On the other side, Budejovice who is now on the upper side of the table, 3rd with 41 points, 14-7-1, 63:50 goals are going through a weeker period of their own, last time losing their 3rd of their last 5, on road to the Vitkovice, 0-3. With the week form that the Energie are showing right now, winning just 2 times in their last 7, I think it`s safe to say that Budejovice who has won their last 7 meetings against them have the chance of a win here, moreso because of their decent road record, 6-3-1, ending a 6-game winning streak on their last away game against Vitkovice. I think they are the favorites and that`s why I`m going to pick them money line style.
