  1. Cheers BH. The Irregular gone out to 50/1 with WH at the moment, gone in again but each way this time. Don’t think it’s a 50/1 chance anyway even if it doesn’t run well today. Last time out it was backed with Geraghty aboard and ran poorly as I thought it may and couldn’t understand the market support. Today I think it has a decent each way chance back over hurdles and is 50/1 :lol

  2. 5:30 Ballinrobe - The Irregular - 1pt win 28/1 WH

Backed from double figure price into 9/2 last time out in a beginners chase but finished down the field. Back over hurdles today and normally more competitive in weaker races than this but most of the top of the handicap are out of form, back from breaks or hard to win with. Went close over a furlong further on this course last year August, hopefully can run a big race today.

    7:30 Ballinrobe - Plouios - 1pt win 15/2 WH

Henry de Bromhead seems to have a good recent record of first time chasers running well in beginner/novice company so I’ll chance this son of Milan to run well today. Won a maiden hurdle comfortably at Kilbeggan on soft ground over 2m3 in May, up to 2m7 today but I’ll chance him to run well in what looks a weak race today.

  3. 4:55 Chepstow - Secret Glance - 1pt win 9/1 Bet365

Money coming for this one from general 16/1 chance last night and no surprise with the rain that’s come at Chepstow last few days. Won by a wide margin over track and trip in 2016 for different trainer beating some decent horses that day. Since with Wintle it’s been supported in the market twice (tipped by Hugh Taylor last time out) but ran poorly both times. Mark sliding as a result. Hopefully can run to decent level today back from another break.

    3:00 Southwell - Poyle George Two - 1pt win 12/1 Betway

Related to two fibresand winners, one who runs later on today (Poyle Vinnie). Hopefully can show it’s true colours second time out after it was out with the washing on debut on soft ground at Windsor.

  4. 6:30 Newbury - Alpha Delta Whiskey - 1pt win 9/1 William Hill Swendab went close in a stronger class race last time out at Salisbury but didn't look too keen to go past the winner that day, and although sprinters in form tend to be best kept on side I'd rather the chances of the outsider of the field tonight. Does well on firm ground and ran a good speed figure at sandown last season in a stronger race when finishing 2nd and some of his better speed figures have come in fields of 6 or lower.

  5. Pity Cash more than likely the winner but if I were to play the race, I'd take a chance on Carroll's outsider at 10/1, oldest horse in the race in terms of date foaled, only male horse in the field and speedily bred but my opinion not strong enough to warrant a bet. Good luck if playing.

  6. 8:15 Kempton - Late Shipment - 1pt win 20/1 BetVictor Formerly with Mark Johnston this horse has once ran over 16f at Chester in September 2014 which although finishing 3rd was in retrospect a good effort carrying 9-7 against horses who later ended up higher in the handicap than First Shipment. Jamie Osbourne is a fantastic trainer of AW horses when fancied and this horse, in his first run for Osbourne went off 10/3 second favourite at Sandown and ultimately disappointed but back on a favoured AW surface (won a 12f handicap by 10 lengths earlier in his career) hopefully we'll see an improved showing tonight.

  7. 3:45 Cartmel - Shrapnel - 1pt win 7/1 Bet365 Ran something back to decent form lto carrying 11-12 against two decent yardsticks and giving weight away couldn't have helped. Ellison has taken this horse at a mark of 134 and got it down to 115 today. A grade 3 chase winner in Ireland, whilst 9 years old, it won't be improving hugely anymore but can be competitive off this mark in what looks a winnable race.

  8. Re: BBOTD > Monday April 14th 3:30 Hexham - Mannered - 1pt win 18/1 BetVictor Rag time at Hexham but was a better run for this horse last time out despite the long losing margin. He led from the 1st to 3 out going well but emptied and tailed off. With a better timed ride he could go well today and Wade has had a winner at the meeting today so far.

  9. Re: BBOTD Saturday 12th 3:50 Ayr - Baile Anrai - 1pt Win 50/1 Bet365 Was really impressed with this 10 year old gelding last time out, winning a handicap chase at Fakenham in which he battled grimly to hold on to win. He seems to improve the further he goes and although this was the furthest he's run, he seemed like it might have been too short for him. Running off 10 stone in this today and has gone close in good chasing handicaps in the past. Does most of his winning on flat tracks but has won galloping tracks also and enjoys a test of stamina. Hopefully he can outrun his odds in this fiercly competitive race today.

  10. 5:15 Pontefract - Mash Potato - 1pt win 8/1 Bet365 Think Mash Potato still has room for improvement as a 4 year old this season, especially on softer ground and on staying tracks. Won on his reappearance last season and hopefully a mark of 71 won't be out of reach tomorrow considering he beat horses rated 73-74 at Newcastle last season.

  11. Re: National Hunt Racing > Friday March 28th

No mate didn't lay it off but I had a nice place bet at 8.4... He was staying on very well at the finish but looks a tricky ride.
Nice one mate another few yards and it wins I think, fantastic spot though you've smashed SP and unlucky not to win. Credit to Costello too he's tried his guts out there.
  12. Re: National Hunt Racing > Friday March 28th

Wetherby 3:20 The Tony Coyle yard is flying at the moment, they have had 3 winners from their last 6 runners and Trafords Hero looks a big price at 50/1 having his first run for the new yard tomorrow. He has also won with 2 of his last 4 runners at Wetherby and this is also his only runner of the day tomorrow. This lightly raced 6 year old gelding showed plenty of promise on his debut at Thurles in February last year when he finished 4th at 33/1 in a big field. He was pulled up at Towcester when last seen off a mark of 99 but he starts life for this yard off a mark of 95 and Coyle is very good at getting a debutant ready first time out. This is the first time the horse will run on good ground too so he could well improve on it and hopefully he will outrun his price tag. Trafords Hero WIN @ 50/1 Bet365
You laid this off mate? 5/1 fave now... Good luck hope it hacks up for you
  13. Re: BBOTD > Friday March 21st 1:50 Sedgefield - Rozener - 1pt Win 33/1 Bet365 Bit of a chancer bet in all honesty as this horse hasn't shown a thing in last two runs but its debut behind a few horses, in which it was never dangerous has provided subsequent hurdles winners. The trainer has had two winners in the last few days who weren't expected to win and the horse could improve for the better ground. The race looks poor enough so not beyond all belief it could improve for an in form trainer.

  14. Re: BBOTD > Thursday March 20th 2:30 Chepstow - Lodgician - 1pt Win 16/1 Bet365 Big field handicap in which there could be potential lurkers ready to improve on much better ground than that they've encountered this winter but in Lodgician we have a horse who thrives on good/good to firm ground. All of his best form over his long career has been on this sort of ground and despite being a 12 year old now, he still seems to be competitive as shown by his 2nd last December over fences on good ground at Leicester. He's entered up at Towcester in 4 days time too so the ground must be perfect for him today and hopefully he can make a bold show in this big field with the stable jockey back on board.

  15. Re: Champion Hurdle Without sounding like I'm jockey bashing here I don't think Jezki has been ridden to best effect in his last two runs, and will almost certainly run better at the festival. Ran into a wall of horses in the Ryanair then dropped to rear yesterday and although was keen, I personally didn't think AP threw the kitchen sink at him in the finish. Have to play the 14/1 EW with BetVictor and hope this has been connections main target all season. Hurricane Fly was very impressive quickening in soft/heavy ground like he did but I think McManus etc may be quietly confident of overturning him whether it be with MTOY or Jezki.

  16. I would say yes. Funny that Pipers Piping is running in the same colours as Prohibition. Prohibition has ran a couple of times this season for J Butler with the last run for that trainer coming a week ago. Now running under Mandy Rowland and in the same race as a horse that has been absolutely smashed up returning from a break. I would say yes this one has been trained for today.
Wouldn't surprise me if Prohibition wins instead
  17. Re: BBOTD > Thursday January 23rd 6:30 Kempton - All The Winds - 0.5pts EW 12/1 William Hill Ran 13 days ago at Wolverhampton in a class 3 race and wasn't disgraced although 8 lengths off the winner who looked a horse who was above the grade, and was carrying the same weight as him that day. His record at Kempton reads better than his record at Wolverhampton, and 2 of his 3 career wins on the all-weather have come at Kempton and is 1/3 over C+D. Although he's a 9 year old now he still looks to have a race in him still and hopefully can find this class 5 event more to his liking. Although he's the highest rated in the race tomorrow, Lycett has decided to put 7 pound claimer Cameron Hardie on top to offset some of the weight which hopefully will be a help. Lycett's horses are running well this month, although he's not getting many winners they are running creditably at all sorts of prices. Worth a shot in an open race I feel.
