  1. Re: Tennis - 3-9 October Atko, followed you over the last few days mate, Cheers, Quality stuff. .:cheers
  2. Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 11 mins left , 13-5 to the Boks, not what I expected at all. They've dominated all faceits of this match and only have a 8 point lead, Not very impressive. Not much hope of beating the ABs if they can't score any points.
  3. Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 If this game was NZ vs Samoa everyone would be saying AB's by 20-30+ and realistically this Boks side with the Australian's are the only legitimate sides standing in their way on winning this Tournament, but no body trusts the BoKs to beat Samoa, yet they are a very real chance of beating the All Blacks once they get by Australia. This Samoan side named tonight has an average age of 34 and is the oldest side to be named at this WC, The Boks have come here to play and so far they are, they have named this side not because they think they are in trouble, but because many need a run Bismarck du Plessis arguably the best number two in the world with his Brother Jannie and Tendai Mtawarira to form an all-Sharks front row. Victor Matfield who takes over and Heinrich Brüssow come back into the pack also. Francois Steyn to score at anytime and Boks to win well
  4. Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 I like Tonga to cover the start tonight but my bet is Tonga over 7.5 points in match $1.95 TAB(NZ
  5. Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 A couple really, Australia are the closest in terms of talent and all round play to the All Blacks, the last game between these two sides was at Eden Park where the final is to be played and if not for bad Goal kicking in the first half and bad options in attack the result could of been far different, and that's not even counting the 2 tries the AB's scored from a knock on and forward pass. Also the pressure on the AB's to win is huge and will continue to mount as the tournament passes by, I don't think people realise how big the pressure is on them to be honest. 1987 was the only time they have won the WC, granted no mater the results the AB's are the best side in the world on any given day and their results show that, but the invention of the World Cup and their failure to win it since 87 has resulted in a mindset of nothing but the WC is enough and as each tournament has come and gone the expectation has grown more and more, to the point of extremes. It is a proven fact that domestic abuse rises when the AB's lose in a WC, imagine being a player with that hanging over your head every WC. Then there's the coach, Robbie Deans was the coach NZ wanted to lead them into this WC and instead he is at the helm of their fiercest rivals. He is a great coach and also knows how the key players in the AB's work, if anyone can upset the AB apple cart it's him and this young but ever improving Wallabies outfit. Really I just think the Wallabies are the AB's only real threat here and man for man they can match it with the All Blacks for sure, those who say the AB's are on Eden Park a place they do not lose often only need look at Rugby League where the Kangaroos near on unbeatable on home soil lost the 4 Nations and WC Finals in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium to the Kiwis who were considered no chance but yet came away with the spoils. The fact is on any given day any side can beat any side and if there is one side the AB's will not want to face come Final time it is this Wallabies side for sure. On a different note of sorts, the refs really need to be held accountable for bad decisions. right now there are so many games decided by the refs whistle rather than great play, the scrums are awful, in fact in a game of ITM Cup in NZ 2 weeks ago the time on the clock was 77 mins and the "ball in play" came up with one side having the ball for 26 mins and the other 18 mins, the scrum time was 22 mins, 13 mins was not even accounted for, it is just unbelievable.
  6. Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 Australia to make and win the Final.
  7. Expecting some hard fought games this weekend with plenty on the line in all the matches. Storm 1-12 The Dragons need to show some spine here and I expect that they will against a Storm side without Cronk, Lowrie, Duffie and Woolnough, bu I'll side with the Storm who even short of troops have proved their mettle this season. Storm by 7 Souths - 3.5 The Bunnies have scored 137 points in their last 3 matches and look great which is a bad sign for the Cowboys who are playing away from home and leaking on average 20 ppg. Momentum is with the Bunnies and they have won their last 3 at home when the Cowboys have come visiting. Souths by 13 Titans 1-12 The Titans have been dreadful this season but then again so have the Raiders, I'm siding with the Titans to give their fans something to cheer about this afternoon, Prince is not there but then again so is Duggan, Tilse, Miller and Butriss for the Raiders, The Titans have faced the Raiders 3 times at Skilled Park and are yet to lose, I'll take them to make that 4 from 4 this Saturday. Titans by 7 Warriors 1-12 If the Storm and Rabbitohs win on Friday night then this game is huge for the Warriors as a win puts them in 4th place with their last 2 matches against both the Cowboys and Dragons their competition for 4th place. The Warriors welcome back both Hohaia and Taylor while the Panthers have Jennings back but are still without Lewis and Coote. If the Warriors want to be taken seriously then this match is a must win for them and I am going with them to get a win here, but I doubt it will be by much. Warriors by 8 Roosters 1-12 The Roosters would be over the moon with their win over the Dragons last weekend while the Sharks have had a month to forget results wise. The Roosters get Kenny-Dowall back and should be on a high, however fixtures between these two sides tend to be close and split, the Sharks won this fixture last season by plenty while the Roosters had won the previous 4 all by 12 or less. Roosters by 10 Manly 1-12 It's do or die for the Bulldogs today and I'm guessing it will be die, Manly will be without Hopoate while the Dogs could be without Pritchard. Manly should be warm favs for this match but past results show that the Bulldogs have a decent record against the Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval, This fixture has been win, loss for either side in recent times with the Bulldogs winning this match last season, in the last 6 times this match has been played the Sea Eagles have won the next fixture when losing the previous, each time by 12 or less, Lets see if history repeats today. Sea Eagles by 12 Wests 1-12 These two sides have only played at the SFS twice in recent years with either side winning one a piece, both fixtures were close with the margin being 1-12 in either game. The Tigers are on a roll though and I expect them to win but again the Eels do hang in games and I expect them to do that again in this fixture. Tigers by 8 Broncos 1-12 Yow-Yeh and Hannant are out for the Broncos while the Knights remain unchanged from last weeks loss to the Warriors. The Knights have won their last two against the Broncos at home and have it all to play for here tonight, but it's hard to go past the Broncos here in a thriller. Broncos by 1
  8. Tough week last weekend, but some good games, this weekend more of the same. Broncos 1-12 The Cowboys have named Thurston, Bolton and Fai Fai Loa while the Broncos have McGuire in to relace Hannant with Hala coming onto the bench. Locky plays his 350th match for the Broncos tonight and the Broncos have won 6 of the last 7 between these two sides. I'm with the Broncos here in what should be a thrilling contest. Broncos by 7 Wests 1-12 The Magpies or Tigers are going great winning when all seems lost is always a good sign, while the Panthers were taught a lesson last weekend by the Storm. The Panthers welcome the return of rookie Harry Siejka with Lewis out injured and Vaivai and Weston also come back into the lineup. Seluini will start at hooker in place of Kevin Kingston. while The Tigers bring in Mitch Brown to replace Lawrence. The Panthers have a great record against the Tigers and even without Lewis have some real excitement about them in this line up, Jennings at fullback and Vai Vai in the side is dangerous as both are brilliant with ball in hand, the Panthers pack is also the match of the Tigers but Marshall and Farah are in for the Tigers and so a Magpies win appears on the cards. Tigers by 1 Knights + 6.5 The Knights are flying high and will come in to this match feeling confident, while the Warriors showed last weekend how dangerous they can be but also how inexperinced their halves can be. The Warriors get Moon back with Ta'i for this match while the Knights are unchanged. The Knights have not won in Auckland in their last 5 trips but that could change this weekend as they are in hot form and with Gidley and Mullen playing great they really should win this match, the Warriors might be going well but they cannot score from structured play and tonight that will cost them, i'm backing the Knights to take this game all the way and maybe even win. Warriors or Knights by 4 Storm - 17.5 No Prince and injury concerns all over the Park for the Titans is not a good sign when facing the Storm, a thrashing appears on the cards here and thats all I have to say about that. Storm by 30 Sea Eagles 1- 12 The Eels will want to make up for their flogging at the hands of the Bunnies last weekend while the Sea Eagles will want to win and maintain momentum. For the Eels, Reni Maitua is expected to make his return while Justin Poore's is retained in their lineup. While for the Sea Eagles they'll miss Jason King for the rest of 2011, but they do welcome back Robertson and George Rose earns a starting spot with King's absence. The Eels were thumped by the Bunnies but before last week had played well in defence and I think they will stand up here tonight and make Manly play hard to gain a win. Only 3 of the last 10 between these sides has been a blowout and I don't think this one will be either. Manly by 8. Souths - 2.0 Scary game for the Bunnies here as everything is going well for them which normally means bad news while the Raiders need to win here just for the sake of their fans. Changes for the Raiders though throw this game firmly to the Bunnies if they are good enough to take those chances, the Bunnies are unchanged but the Raiders are without Vidot due to personal reasons, meaning Reece Robinson returns on the wing. But Dane Tilse and Glen Buttriss will also be missing due to injury which means Bronson Harrison and Danny Galea will come into the starting side. The Bunnies should win this match and i'll go with them to do it well, if this game was a night game I might take the Raiders but it's a Sunday afternoon match in which Souths tend to go well. Souths by 12 Dragons - 12.5 The Dragons need to bounce back here and they likely will, The Dragons have no changes to their side while the Roosters could but at present have named all 3 players in question. The Dragons should have little worries in dispatching of the Roosters this wekend no matter who plays for them and so a Dragons win is on the cards. Dragons by 24 Dogs 1-12 The Sharks last two home matches have ended in disaster with losses to the Titans and Knights and so a big effort is needed here today to restore some pride while the Dogs beat the Cowboys but it was hardly impressive although Pritchard was. There are a few changes for this match for either side, for the Sharks they get Gardner in the custodian role while Paul Gallen has been named despite facing the judiciary tomorrow while Issac Gordon stays in the side in place of Wright, with Ricky Leutele retaining his place in the centres. Taulima Tautai is relegated with Wright to NSW Cup, while Jason Bukuya and Albert Kelly return. Canterbury have two changes, with Josh Reynolds promoted to starting hooker in the absence Romelo. Mickey Paea is on the bench meaning the Bulldogs will have a four-forward rotation. While Roberts is also back at five-eighth. The Dogs should win this match but again it will likely be clsoe. Dogs by 7 Good Luck to all betting on the NRL this weekend.

    NRL Rd 22

Re: NRL Rd 22 The Cowboys/Dogs game has changed a bit in the last few days with Andrew Ryan saying he will retire come seasons end and I now think the Dogs will lift and maybe get away with this game, I am still going with the Cowboys to win but am also now taking Frank Pritchard to score a try at anytime as if the Bulldogs do lift tonight their forward pack will need to play well with Pritchard leading the way. I am also taking total combined points to be high in the ranges of 51-60 points and 61-70. That's based on either sides porous defensive frailties
  10. Dragons 1-12 The Dragons have lost their last 2 matches and now have to face one of the form sides in the Tigers, this week they get Dean Young back and that will give them better options in attack. The Tigers on the other hand have won their last 3 matches but last week had to come back to win after looking well gone at half time, they have no changes for tonight's big clash. I'm going with the Dragons in a close match, they need to find some form to instill confidence and I think the last 2 weeks of heartbreaking losses will See a great effort that will get them home, but I fully expect the Tigers to be right in this match to the end. Cowboys - 1.5 The Bulldogs get Morris back for tonight's match but that is the only positive for them after winning only one game in their last 5 and that was in golden point 2 weeks ago. The Cowboys are unchanged for this match and come into this match having won their last 2 matches and 3 of their last 4. The Cowboys have a great forward pack and some real excitement in the backs while the Bulldogs have some players who are just not trying, most notably Jamal Idris, which does not bode well for tonight's match. Even without Thurston the Cowboys have experience and toughness across the field and since the Bulldogs have allowed 20 or more in 4 of their last 5 as have the Cowboys I expect some points on offer tonight, but I also expect the Cowboys to muscle their way to a victory. Storm 1-12 The Storm came back to beat the Eels in a good MNF match last week while the Panthers went down to the Cowboys after Luke Lewis went off right on half time. The Storm side remains the same as Monday nights match and so again no Gareth Widdop which is a big loss for this Storm side, for the Panthers Lewis will play and they will need him, still no Coote for the Panthers. The Panthers have lost 3 of their last 4 but have remained close in those matches playing some very tough footy, their record against the Storm is poor having lost their last 8 against them whether home or away, but their last 10 matches against the Storm only 3 matches have seen a blowout scoreline and the last 4 in Melbourne have seen narrow Storm wins and a Panthers win.The Panthers season is on the line and they are playing like that, I'll look for them to keep it close but fall again in heartbreaking fashion. Warriors + 6.5 Both sides get a boost tonight with Teo back for the Broncos and Brown back for the Warriors. The Warriors will get good support here and will be in this match, I'm tempted by the Broncos 1-12 as I really don't se this game being a blowout, The Warriors enter in good spirits as will the Broncos after the thrashing of the Sharks last weekend, however this is not the Sharks and the scoreline should be closer tonight. I fancy the Warriors to spring a surprise here across the park they have more experience than this Broncos side, should be a great game with plenty of ups and downs , maybe a true Top 8 battle is on the cards. Sharks - 7.5 Tonight the Sharks are boosted as they get Gallen back as well as Paul Aiton, Isaac Gordon and Ricky Leutele, while the Titans also make whlsesale changes. The Sharks were in a rich vein of form but have lost their last 3, however those losses came against Teams in good form in the Broncos, Knights and Dragons while the Titans are being dealt to at every turn, If this match was at Skilled park I would be tempted to take the Titans but it's not and with Gallen and co in for this match and the Sharks latest losses I fully expect the Sharks to muscle up here and win well. The Sharks have scored 28 or more in their last 3 home matches against the Titans and in 4 or their last 5 at home when facing the Titans and have won by 13 or more in 4 of those matches and 8 in the other, but I think the Sharks will play well and win well tonight. Knights 1-12 The Knights are flying high after 2 comprehensive wins while the Raiders came crashing back to earth last weekend against the Warriors. Both sides have injury worries but have named and stated that the players in question will play. I think the Raiders will show up here and play well, their forward pack is very strong and should they compete well the Raiders are a chance in this match. The Knights also have a tough forward pack with Joel Edwards playing great defensive footy, any kids out there wanting to learn how to tackle should watch Edwards whose timing is impeccable. The Knights are hot favs but really eve though winning have only beaten the Titans and Sharks in their last 2 matches so they are hard to trust to much, but they are at home and have won their last 4 at home against this Raiders team, I'm looking for a hard game today with the Knights edging the Raiders i a close game. Sea Eagles 13+ The Sea Eagles will welcome this match against the Roosters after last weeks meltdown against the Tigers while the Roosters may of beaten the Bulldogs but have not faced anyone of note in their last 5 matches and have leaked points like a faulty running toilet. When the Sea Eagles have lost this season they have bounced back well the following weekend and I expect them to repeat that this Sunday. Souths 1-12 and Dave Taylor to score at anytime The Bunnies get Dave Taylor back tonight while the Eels are without Robson for the rest of the season but do have good backup in McGuire. The Rabbitohs should be up beat after beating the Dragons in the way they did last weekend but should be wary of a meltdown here against the Eels this week, while the Eels should be all out for respect after losing from a winning position last Monday night against the Storm. It does scare me a bit that every time that the Bunnies have caused an upset they have then lost the following weekend but the Eels just cannot win their matches, but they sure can stay in them till the end and I think they will do that again tonight, but the Bunnies in a close one with Dave Taylor busting through out wide are my picks for this match. Good luck to all this weekend if you are betting on the NRL.
  11. The Competition is getting better as the big games are getting closer Sea Eagles 1-12 Game of the weekend and it's up first. Sea Eagles will play tough footy as usual but I think the Tigers will keep it close. Broncos - 12 The mail is the Sharks will play Gallen, It won't matter, the Broncos will be all out to get some credibility back after being thumped by the Storm last Friday night, Broncos by 16. Canterbury - Bankstown Win Both teams talent wise are close and on the face of it this looks like a good game to watch, The Dogs won last weekend in thrilling fashion and have a great recent record against the Chooks who now that I've given up on them they might just win, but it's the Dogs for me. Cowboys 1-12 Panthers played hard last weekend but came up short while the Cowboys got home against the Titans. Both forward packs in this game are tremendous as are the backline match ups, the Panthers have the wood on the Cowboys but the Cowboys I feel are on a good ride here and I think they'll get home against the Panthers, but not by much. Warriors - 6.5 Not confident about this but feel the Warriors will come home upbeat after the demolition of Souths last weekend and should climb over the Raiders late to win by 14. Knights 1-12 Titans are crap but it has to get to them at some point, Prince needs to take the line on instead of kicking all the time when the Titans are on attack, hopefully he'll do that this afternoon, the Knights to be honest are playing alright but they to seem to come in and out of their matches, not much interest here but I will be watching and having a punt on this game so Knights 1-12. Souths +14.5 Dragons are backing up from a hard fought and lost Monday night match while Souths are backing up from their worst performance of this season. I think Souths can be competitive in this match for a while but in the end class will prevail. The last 4 games the Dragons have lost to the Raiders in Canberra in the last 4 seasons the following week they have lost 3 and won once by 8. Eels + 8.5 Storm have been awesome this season but I have noticed that after lifting for a big game and then backing up the following week in what appears to be an easy game has never been easy for them. Eels just can't take any tricks at present, but it is Monday night and they have won their last 4 at home against the Storm, One of those matches was a MNF game also.
  12. Re: NRL: Round 20 Souths to win Fancy the Bunnies today their last 5 matches have seen them win 3 and lose 2 but they have a never say die attitude at present and with Inglis and Sandow going great I fancy them to win, Warriors won their last 2 but hard to gauge their form as it was the Dogs and Titans they beat both in Auckland, Jhonson and Locke are the keys for the Warriors but I'll go with the Bunnies. Might eve be worth a small punt on draw at half or full time also. Manly 1-12 Hard to see Manly losing here but I have a feeling the Panthers will make a real contest of it. MNF - Raiders Win Dragons won well last weekend in what had to be their best performance of the season 38-8 over the Sharks while the Raiders are going from bad to worse losing 26-0 away to the Storm. But in stark contrast the Raiders have won 11 of their last 12 against the Dragons, including twice last season when the Dragons finished the year by winning it all. The Dragons have lost their last 6 away to the Raiders and at $3.10 I'll put some money on them to see if the Raiders continue to be the Dragons bogey team.
  13. Glad Origins over and looking forward to full rounds starting up next weekend.:D I really like the looks of the Warriors, Eels and Sharks this weekend. Warriors get Luck back, Johnson is in as is Locke and that's enough fr me, The Titans have been awful but the -9 is step for the Warriors. Al though the Titans have leaked 28 or more in their last 3 matches. I'm on Locke to score a try at any time. The Eels really blew that game against the Broncos last week, but in earlier weeks they had played well, the Tigers get some class back with Lawrence, Payton and maybe Benji but they are short of a run and it might just tell. The Sharks are murdering teams right now, their forwards are smashing anything that moves and with Galen back it gets even tougher, the Raiders don't win away. They may have won their last two matches but either side has payed poor teams in their recent games so the form is off, I just think the Sharks will roll the Raiders by 7+.
  14. Wondering what if any thoughts any one out there has on this game? I fancy the Reds in a thriller. They've played well all season and will likely be on a high after beating the Crusaders in round play, the place itself will be buzzing after the State of Origin win , so I think the crowd might just sneak them over the line. For the conspiracy theories as I am a Kiwi - If the Crusaders beat the Reds will the players in the Wallabies from this Reds side then train hard and win the WC? And vice versa should the Reds win the match will the AB's involved then train harder and win the WC? This match puts many of the same players who will face each other in the WC later in the year its a perfect scenario for that match. which ever side loses this match could have a great effect on this years WC.
