  1. 3.50 Newmarket - Gavlar EW @ 33/1 Bet365

Gavlar has been progressing all season winning 3 times and running well on all but 1 start.  His latest start came in the trial for this race where he finished 4th behind Low Key in a slowly run race.  I am hoping for a better pace tomorrow, which will suit Gavlar but I certainly don't think he has stopped improving.  Frederik Tylicki rode him in the trial but Callum Shepherd is back on board tomorrow taking off a very handy 7lbs.  He also rode him 2 both victories at Kempton quite recently and seems to get on well with the horse.  I think he has an excellent chance of at least making the first 5.

  2. 3.45 Newmarket - She Is No Lady ew @ 22/1 BetVictor

Ralph Beckett has 2 in the race but it is the outsider of the 2 that I prefer.  SINL is progressing nicely having won twice this season and finished an okay 6th being a couple of these last time out.  Jamie Spencer gave the horse enough to do in that race and I would hope she would be ridden a little handier tomorrow.  Harry Bentley takes the ride and he is 1 from 1 on her so that can only be a positive.  She won't mind which way the ground goes being by the very talented Lope De Vega and I am hopeful of a good run.  She has a 7lb pull in the weights with Wonder Laish and Duretto and I don't think she should be around 5 times their price.

  3. Looking for some help. I placed a bet on NetBet last Sunday on a horse called Tested over in Ireland. It won but the result got amended and I didn't get paid out. Now I understand if they don't pay double result but I can't find it anywhere in their rules and I have tried speaking to someone and they keep telling me they will ask their traders and get back to me. For some reason I was under the impression most bookies other than exchanges paid double result?

  4. 2.25 Exeter - Alf Wright 1pt win @ 8/1 Bet365

Going to take a chance on Alf Wright who is having his 3rd run for Philip Hobbs here.  He was pitched into quite a competitive race on his debut for the stable where he finished tailed off returning from a long absence.  He run much better last time out over this trip at Market Rasen and I feel he can improve again tomorrow with the Hobbs horses going well. He has been dropped a further 2lbs to a mark of 118 and I fancy him to go well at a track where Hobbs is top trainer.  Walter White is another runner from the stable and I feel he might just need the run with over 2 years away from the track.

  5. 4.10 Nottingham - Rocket Ronnie 1pt win @ 10/1 Bet365

Comfortable winner last time out in the first time head gear.  Hoping it can do the trick again. Small rise in the weights seems fair and I can see him going well again.  There are a couple of handicap debutants in the race from bigger yards but I am happy to stick with Rocket Ronnie. Ed McMahon's horses are going ok at the minute.

  6. 9.10 Kempton - Regal Miss EW @ 25/1 hills

Has to get over a poor performance but previous to that she was just touched off by Outrage pulling 9 lengths clear of the 3rd.  That run would suggest this horse could be reasonably handicapped off 65 with Outrage going close off 71 in a handicap since.  Patrick Chalmings is a trainer that has done me a few favours with Scottish Glen so I will take my chances with this horse tonight.

  7. 3.10 Tipperary - Bubbly Bellini 1pt win @ 8/1 Hills

This horse ran well last time out over a trip too short for him and a return to this CD is very much in his favour.  HIs form figures over CD read 2-4-2-1 with the win coming earlier in the season.  He remains in good form and Jack Kennedy takes the ride today.  He actually has a good record when racing on the flat finishing in the first 3 on 22 occasions from 45.

  8. Keep it simple and back the Boro this year. I am on at 10's for the league and 3's for promotion. Yes I am a Boro fan and as disappointing as last season was getting beat in the manner we did in the play off final, its clear to see our chairman wants promotion this year. Re-signing Downing is a show of intent from him as he hasn't come cheap and we have only spent a couple million on some striker from Espanyol called Stuani. Nor sure what to make of him from his you tube highlights but he looks like a real poacher, which is something we have lacked. All sorts of names getting linked to us at the moment and I wouldn't be surprised either Lambert or Rhodes despite the club denying any contact. I would also expect maybe another couple of loan's to come in possibly from Chelsea. We weren't a million miles away from doing it last year and I am very confident we will do it this year. I can see us strengthening in the winter transfer window if needs be as Gibson knows next year is the year to be in the Premier League with all of the extra cash. The signing of Downing has created a huge buzz on Teesside and I am sure he will be a big success for us again. All of the fancy prices have gone now but we will do it this year!

  9. Re: Weekly NAPS Competition: Sunday 17th May 3.20 Navan - Booker 1pt win @ 16/1 Ladbrokes Think this horse could be interesting on his return to action if fully fit. He drops in trip here to the minimum, which looks an interesting move with the first to hood applied. He has shown plenty of ability on the few runs he has had and he has a low draw here and the services of Fran Berry. He might find everything happening a little too quickly for him in this but it wouldn't surprise me if he ran very well for a top yard.

  10. Re: Weekly Naps Comp ''Wednesday 6th May'' 2015 3.10 Chester - Suegioo 1pt win @ 16/1 SkyBet Looking through recent history of this race, there are several horses that have won this race twice but only one in recent memory that has won it back to back in Anak Pekan. That horse managed to follow up in 2005 from stall 15 so I am hoping my selections burden of stall 16 won't hinder him too much. After all Suegioo does have the services of the main man Ryan Moore so the draw wouldn't put me off too much. He has had a recent prep for the race which should have brought him on and any softening of the ground shouldn't pose any problems. I think he will go close granted luck in running!

  11. Re: Weekly Naps Comp ''Monday 4th May'' 2015 3.50 Curragh - Dandysteps 1pt win @ 25/1 Hills This horse showed much more on her 3rd maiden on soft ground to finish 4th of 15 at Bellewstown and was sent off an 8/1 shot on handicap debut where she was disappointing. She races here off 55 and taking a line through the form of Intisaab I would think she could be well handicapped here if returning fully fit. Her trainer is 2 from 5 at the track and I am hopeful of a good run in these testing conditions.

  12. Re: Weekly Naps Competition ~ Sunday Selections 3.00 Newmarket - Secretinthepark 1pt win 10/1 Ladbrokes This horse went close in this race last year on his reappearance from a 1lb lower mark but there is every chance to expect better from his this year now he has switched to Robert Cowell. Jim Crowley in good form takes the ride and this horse would appear to be drawn on the right side. Looks massively competitive but I fully expect this horse to be involved in the finish.

  13. Re: Nap of the day 28th April 6.15 Newcastle - Invincible Ridge 1pt win @ 12/1 Ladbrokes Eric Alston has his horses in good form at the moment and this one might just appreciate a return to turf and a return to 6f. He has been running well on the all weather in recent months in good class 2 events behind the likes of Mappin Time and the highly talented Pretend. The form of his latest effort over 5f at Wolves has been given a few boosts so I wouldn't be surprised to see him go close here.

  14. Re: Nap of the Day - Sunday 26th April 2015 9.35 Sha Tin - Designs on Rome 1pt win @ 9/4 PaddyPower Absolute stand out bet for me in this as long as he is over his exertions from racing in Dubai where he was disappointing. I think a return to this track and trip will bring out the best in this high class horse who has the beating of all of his rivals if turning up with his a game. The race should be run to suit with Military Attack more than likely helping force a good pace for DOR to run at. Jockey has built up a good relationship with this horse and they can team up to get back to winning ways in this grade 1 race. Expect to see him finishing fast and wide!

  15. 4.00 Doncaster - Noble Asset 1pt win @ 7/1 Bet365 Progressed nicely at the end of last season and should build on his recent reappearance at Musselburgh on soft ground. The return to quicker ground here will suit and that run should have brought him on. I think he has a big chance with the yard going well and conditions in his favour.

  16. Re: Nap of the day Competition - Thursday 23rd April 2015 3.30 Beverley - Asteroidea EW @ 7/1 Hills I find it a little interesting that Mick Easterly has 2 horses in this yet Gibbons is on this horse who he did ride to victory last year. This horse was very poor on racecourse debut this season but with that run under her belt and a return to quick conditions, we might see a much better performance from her.

  17. Re: Nap Of The Day 21st April 2.40 Ludlow - Mart Lane 1pt win @ 16/1 Bet365 This horses recent form for Sophie Leech does not read well with 3 pull ups in 3 starts but a drop into class 3 could bring about a much improved performance. He has dropped to a nice mark and races in this grade for the first time since winning at Doncaster back in 2013. He has raced in this grade twice in his career over fences and has won both times. Killian Moore takes off a handy 5lbs and the first time visor may help.

  18. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread It's crazy how short some of these early season Cumani horses are starting when we know they won't be ready. Might get the odd one that pops up but he doesn't have his horses ready this time of the year. The only good thing is you can usually get bigger prices about the opposition
