  1. Hi all, Hope you all enjoyed the wedding freeroll, and apologies for not really having been around since we got back from Vegas. We've hardly stopped - I've been across in London all week for work and we're heading off to France in a couple of hours for Christmas - can't wait to actually get a rest!! :loon I promised to post some wedding photos up here, but to be honest it was soooo sunny out there that half of the photos have us squinting at the sun and aren't that flattering!! I'm waiting on a couple of CDs of the photos that friends took - hopefully there will be some good ones there! In the meantime here is possibly the best of the photos we actually have: dscf0033bf1.jpg The day itself was fantastic and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We went to China Grill at The Mandalay Bay in the evening and I'd highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Vegas. The rest of the trip went well. Plenty of poker of course - the highlight probably being the tournament at Binnions where we both cashed - me in 3rd and 6ooner in 2nd for a nice little payday between us. I ended up playing mostly cash games, but cashed in 2 out of the 4 tournaments I played so pretty pleased with that. Although it was also pretty cool staying in The Bellagio and walking past Bobby's room each day and seeing which names we could spot - Phil Ivey, Jen Harman, Chris Ferguson and Doyle Brunson amongst others!! Here's a piccie of 6ooner heads up on the final table at the Binnions tournament - not the best quality but we weren't supposed to be taking photos so I had to do it sneakily with my phone!!! dsc00050ie1.jpg Anyway we're heading off to France very shortly for Christmas - back on Tuesday so hope to see you at the tables then!! Have a fantastic Christmas all.

  2. Re: You are all invited....... Thanks for all your kind wishes everyone. Off to a friends place now before we all head off down to Gatwick in the morning for the flight to Vegas :cow :cow :nana :nana :nana Will try and post a little update while we're out there - but not making any promises!! ;)

  3. ....... to the PL wedding (freeroll) of the year. This Saturday 6ooner and I are getting married in Vegas, well actually at a big rock just outside Las Vegas. As we're going to be away for a week or so we felt guilty about depriving you of our buy-ins. So in order that you don't all go bankrupt and to help us celebrate our Wedding we have organised a Freeroll with our friends at Betfred. The tourney is set to start at 10pm UK time - the same time as the wedding is kicking off out in Nevada. In a fantastic gesture (and as our 1st wedding present so far!) Martyn at Betfred has funded this for us, so a massive thank you to Martyn for that. :notworthy :clap :clap Usual rules apply in that only those who are already PL members are eligible to join this. For the password to this tourney contact either myself or 6ooner up until Wednesday evening - or GaF? afterwards. We'll be checking out the lounge up until Friday evening but not too regularly. Big thanks also to GaF? for helping us to sort this all out :clap As it's in Vegas there may even be a divorce freeroll next week ........... watch this space ;) Tourney details are as follows: Date: Saturday 9th December Time: 22:00 GMT (17:00 EST) Game: No Limit Holdem Starting Stack: 2500 Chips Blinds: 10 minutes Game Name: 'Steve and Sue's Wedding Freeroll' Prize Fund: $300

  4. Re: Freeroll Seat 4

We have a winner :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap To find it - you had to google my name - found at the top of my blog.
:cow :nana :cow Easy when you know how to Google ;) No surprise that I win the seat you don't need to be able to play poker for though :unsure
  5. Re: Freeroll Seat 4 "My 65 on the first day of the 1997 US Open at Congressional. Five-under par was not on in practice but I managed to do it and I was proud of that." Response given by Colin Montgomerie to your question of "What would you say has been the best round of your career? Not necessarily in terms of a low score, but the round which gave you most pleasure. " via BBC Sports Talk Sport forum - 28th Oct 2002 :ok

  6. Re: Well done MCFC - Enjoy the Ashes in Australia!!!

I notice this has changed - no longer restricted to UK players.........
Or so you would think :\ Their website actually now says that it is open to players of all nationalities, but that players would be responsible for getting to the UK to make the journey to Australia. I tried signing up to Pokerroom using my UK address first off, but as it recognised that my IP address was in Belgium they were having none of that! So I asked for clarification on eligibility for the Ashes tourney (before I saw the above quote on their website). I got the response that "Kindly be advised that the tournamnet is for UK residents and should you be playing from belgium you will not be eligible for the prize even though you are a UK resident." - so they are agreeing that I'm a UK resident, but I'm still not eligible - I've asked them to explain themselves here, but I don't suppose that anyone knows of anyone sensible within Pokerroom (or whoever they are hosted by) I could speak to get to the bottom of this?
  7. Re: Who's playing where tonight? Unlucky in the heads up there V - but very well played :clap I'm still sat in my tourney - not sure why, I'm on course for a massive $6 profit (after more than 3 hours!) unless things pick up very quickly!!! :eyes

  8. Re: Idiots Guide please yes, but as straights and flushes don't count, then A 2 3 4 5 simply represents 5 differently numbered cards all 5 or under. Hence a straight flush of Ah 2h 3h 4h 5h, would split the pot with Ad 2s 3c 4d 5s - I think :unsure

  9. Re: London Poker Night , Thurs November 16th I would have liked to have thought so, but I'm not sure. Think the consensus seems to be for the Big Slick in Croydon at the moment. The club in Clapham, however is a great venue - with a decent capacity (and very cheap drinks :ok), but it would depend on someone from the LPM coming forward to confirm whether it could be used on that date. If you live close by though, you should check out the London Poker Meetup website and get along there one Friday. They have a game at least every Friday evening - and some weekends too. The Friday game is 10 buy in, and normally gets around 40 - 50 runners (of wildly varying standards!) with cash games and STTs starting up as people get knocked out. I've only been along once as I'm not normally in London on a Friday night, but I'd thoroughly recommend it :ok

  10. Re: London Poker Night , Thurs November 16th

    prowling? lol
:lol :lol Although you're not the only one - Chewie and Swampster (Jon Young to LPMers!) to name but two, are also on here regularly. Don't see the need to keep this secret though, both LPM and PL are a great bunch of people (well those I've met anyway ;) ) sure it would be a great night to have both sets of people along. No need for a PL v. LPM challenge as such - just a night out with a game of poker :ok
  11. Re: Free £10 from Victor Chandler There's an advert on the back cover of this months Inside Edge magazine. There is a url there which directs you to a page which offers $10 for free and then another $25 when you get 4000 Action Points (which it says you can generate for only 40 raked hands, but I suspect that only applies if you playing the highest stakes tables). I don't know if we have an affiliate link so I won't post the url here, but I've got it here and if the mods say it's OK, then I'll put it up here :ok

  12. Re: Saturdays Focus game

There's the $ 6 buy in at Sporting Odds at 4 pm Danish time.. Not any added value but a decent MTT, and not too expensive...
I'd vote for this one, not a bad tourney - managed to final table this one a couple of times now :ok
  13. Re: London Poker Night , Thurs November 16th no problem - although there are hardly thousands in the LPM (who would be prepared to travel out to deepest darkest Croydon anyway!!!) don't think it would be a problem, but I'll keep schtum for now :ok Edit: there's a few of them prowling around here anyway, so I'm not sure how quiet we'll keep it ;)

  14. Re: Got a Blog/Website? $1k freeroll every 2 months? October 12th 7:30pm next one! Ok - blog up and running :ok http://ifitsthursday.blogspot.com/ The links are all there, but not entirely sure how/where I put the banners in..... anyone?? :\ I won't be around for the first one anyway - and if the others are planned for Thursday's, I'll have a problem there too - I'm generally on the train on a Thursday evening:sad Like the idea of bounties though - perhaps on the current BPP if they're playing - or whoever is highest ranked out of those participating??
