  1. Re: BBOTD Friday 8th February 2.50 Kempton - Zelkova Island @ 9/2 w/ bet365 3 pounds better of than when 2nd in December, proven with the distance and ground should be fine. Should be reasonably fresh not run for a few weeks but no lenghty absence. not the strongest race and is very winnable, horse upped in class also with connections obviously confident of a good run with a stong jockey booking. hard to back against anything McCoys on at the moment, and as long as he gives the horse every chance he should win will double with my boy paddy 3.10@bangor 7/2 w/ bet 365 £10 double pays £247.50 :cigar

  2. Re: Group A > Dec 6th (Anzhi, Liverpool. Udinese, Young Boys)

But this brings more pressure then anything else... if that was a first game in the group with Celtic's record they would of won that easily. This game' date=' expected to win it needed a Samaras dive in the closing stages to win. Haven't Celtic always had a very good home record?[/quote'] Yes but the quality is nothing like it was 5 or 10 years ago, it was sheer determination more than anything else. Each player on the pitch was determined to keep this run going and continue to play with the best in Europe. Cant really argue it wasnt a dive, all for the cause though. If it was celtic v kilmarnock for exmple and the score was 1-1 with 10 mins to go you wouldnt see Sammy taking a dive to try and win the game, it would be played out normally and if it ends 1-1 so be it. Celtic had to win, there wasnt much time left, he took the opportunity and was lucky to have got the decision.... so when theres so much at stake players will do as much as they possibly can to win and needing 3 points for the last 16 every player tried to do as much as possible. Anyway spartak were filthy last night with their flying challenges. Surprised there was only 1 red card... :cigar
  3. Re: Group A > Dec 6th (Anzhi, Liverpool. Udinese, Young Boys) agreed fader but think about Celtic as an example.... players raise their game and have more motivation to win, its not 'just another league game'. Celtic have performed well above average standard in CL than what you see at parkhead in league games beating and nearly drawing with barca and progressing from a group where nobody thought there was a chance. What a night at parkhead last night though! its just like going to work, depending on the job youre doing you may be more motivated or enthusiastic, if ytou know youve got something sh*tty to do you are less motivated and just cbf... anyway my thoughts on this group echo the majority of posts here so not much to say - Young boys and liverpool looks a decent double @ 3/1 w/ b365 very depleted udinense team and i cant see anzhi having enough motivation to win also assuming a weakened team from them. Young boys will want to give their fans a good show, i expect a lot of goals in this game maybe go for >3.5 aswell. Liverpool is taking this competition seriously and will be out for a win and i expect them to be hungry for a goal right from the start. gl :cigar

  4. Re: Group G > Nov 20 (Barcelona, Benfica, Celtic, Spartak Moscow) again terrific value on Celtic @ 13/2! (w/ Bet365) Celtic again the team with little pressure to hosts who must win to keep their hopes alive. Benfica have looked nothing special to me, and being at the 1st game at Parkhead found them boring and unable to come up with that extra bit of magic which good CL teams should. I would also say Celtic are a completely different team with a mass of confidence since that first game. NL will have tthe boys fired up and confidence will be flowing. We have no pressure to get a result tonight but with the confidence from recent petrformances i think we will get a result. At the moment Celtic are the only thing keeping scottish football on its legs and each player knows how much a win will life scottish football as progression will then be guaranteed. Celtic always play 10 times better than they do in spl in Europe for some reason. Do not take into account league form as club is soley focused on CL as league should be won regardless with no disrespect to other spl clubs. Celtic are generally a solid squad with little changes in Europe, in SPL the team is different every week because of the position we are in with an easier challenge than previous years. A lot of youngsters are gettting time in spl while key players are being cotton wooled for CL game. So simply put a Celtic team full of confidence, no high expectations placed on them against a desperate benfica side needing points. A score draw is all we need for certainty if barca do the business. Cant see denfica breaking through, no exciting or dangerous football from them that Celtic cant cope with. I would have this priced around 3/1 highest for Celtic win so 13/2 is extreme value and well in with a chance of turning your 20 into 150 expect this price to come down a lot throughout rest of afternoon... also unders @ 21/20 looks huge value hate this market though - first game was tight and dull, expect celtic to keep it very tight here so similar game with counter attack for celtic looking likliest form of goals :cigar

  5. Re: Group C > Nov 6 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) why are people so quick to jump on milan - Malaga have scored 7 conceded 0 in the competition so far! 3-0 home to zenit. 3-0 away to anderlecht 1-0 home to milan?? why is there so much confidence on milan? a game i probably wont touch, maybe put my free £50 in play on Malaga. Wont be going near AC Milan though. Not even half the quality they have had in previous years! Anyway my bet is on Zenit away they have scored 6 let in 3 ... andelecht have let in 4 with none scored. Price is too big for Zenit at 8/5 here. £50 on gives me my free in play bet- unsure where this will be going yet though, maybe Schalke win or Malaga win GL :cigar

  6. Re: Group G > Oct 23 (Barcelona, Benfica, Celtic, Spartak Moscow) You're right about laying barca or barca dnb but not using betfair. I dont know how you can say celtic dont have the quality to score, they have goalscorers and with a weakened barca defence Celtic will score. Also a celtic fan have tickets to all home champions league games and go to or watch leaugue games when i can. Have a lot of belief in this team, they have improved as games go by and look a good team in the making

  7. Re: Group G > Oct 23 (Barcelona, Benfica, Celtic, Spartak Moscow) Okay barca have a lot more quality than Celtic but that does not justify Celtic being available at about 40/1! 5 scored and a clean sheet at the weekend, allbeit in the SPL but then theres barca 5 scored, 4 against them from a far weaker side in la liga. Bigger shocks have happened, 10/1 i would not bet, but at 40/1 its worth a punt. Celtic go with no pressure, noone expecting a result with barca on the other hand expected to destroy celtic. Safe bet for me would be both teams to score but i also genuinely believe it will be a close game in terms of goals so will back celtic and the draw. A lot of people writing Celtic off, saw someone say they are not a footballing team???? Have you all watched celtic this season? Started pretty poor but lennon has developed a strong hardworking team and I can only see this celtic side getting stroner. bara handicaps -3 are silly imo, celtic wont get destroyed, we will be playing for the point as there is a good chance of us going through to knockouts and a point in the nou camp is huge but very do-able. :cigar

  8. Re: Scottish Football > September 22 2/1 for Motherwell away to Aberdeen is excellent value in my opinion. Motherwell are a decent side and deserve to be at the top of the league. They are a team that can score goals. They beat Aberdeen in the last 3 games all away 1-2 1-2 and 0-3. Aberdeen dont have injured rory fallon motherwell have their full squad available. Aberdeens recent results maybe doesnt show what they truly deserved as they have been playing well just not getting the results. Anywya at 2/1 for an in-form Motherwell to an Aberdeen struggling to get results down the bottom of the table is good value and I will take this 5/10 Motherwell @2/1 w/ Bet365 :cigar

  9. Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23

I'd personally be weary of backing liverpool here. Liverpool are making multiple changes' date=' and won't even play Cole, Skrtl, Gerrard, Enrique, Suarez and Johnson. With City at the weekend you'd have to say its a wise move as they're clearly banking on getting the job done at anfield. The above are only five players that aren't available, four of which played in their previous away fixture in Europe versus FC Gomel. That was a game in which, by all accounts, they didn't perform terribly well, and won the game with one of very few shots in anger. Liverpool look desperately short across the park for me. I've seen a lot of people going for Liverpool, but @ 1.5'ish.... Not for me.[/quote'] Agree with what you say but even still Liverpool should get a win here. Hearts are probably going to be fielding 3rd choice keeper, a new signing brought in just as a backup. Watched hearts many times, scrappy side with the odd quality moments. Liverpools youngsters should win as long as they put continous pressure on the new keeper, they also have carrol and adam more than capable of breaking hearts and have an experienced back line with them and reina in goals. Definetly not diving in here but cants see past a liverpool win... :cigar
  10. Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Huge gulf in class between Celtic and Motherwell, Celtic playing teams in my opinion weaker than Levante (helsinki and helsingburg) and struggled to get a flattering 2-0 win away on tuesday. Levante play in a far superior league to the SPL and should have a lot more class than Motherwell. Was expecting a price of about 1/2 for Levante, so anything @ evens or above is huge value. Like panathanaikos took motherwell apart levante should do the same and i expect a comfortable win. No need to be greedy with handicaps with a great price for the away win. So Motherwell @ 10/11 (better available) 10/10 Might take Liverpool aswell as a double, should also have to much quality for hearts. No other reasoning than big gulf in class between the 2 leagues again @4/9 w/ Ladbrokes :cigar

  11. Re: Third qualifying round, 2nd leg > 7-8 August

Helsinki v Celtic Was at the first leg at Parkhead, Helsinki were terrible but Celtic wernt exactly good either. Celtic have had a really slow tempo start to the season, very slow paced game in the first leg and a slow slow game against aberdeen. Helsinki being well into their season should be able to pick holes into this slow celtic but they couldnt and showed just how poor they were at parkhead. Therefore Celtic having had 2 competitve games should be a better team tonight and i see them winning in helsinki and if attack is much sharper by a few goals, however i cant see a drastic improvement happening so i think it will be a win by 1 goal anyway celtic @ 13/10 looks good or 4/7 dnb will also take ht/ft draw/celtic at 9/2 :cigar
:clap even with a red card :cigar

  13. Re: BBOTD - Thursday 5th July 2012 2.40 Yarmouth - Iffley Fields @ 3/1 w/ bet 365 Ran prominently over 6f at Windsor when hampered in final furlong, was up with the leaders all the way until that point. Still beat Strawberry Duck and with an unhampered run will go close today. 6th of 10 that day does not show true form. This is not the strongest race in my view so will take on Smiling Shark who has been placed in first seller with Iffley Fields :cigar

  14. Re: Germany v Italy > June 28

First of all, let me say congratulations to everyone that never doubted Italy. I'll be the first to hold my hand up and say, I thought the Germans were going to shut down the likes of Pirlo and dominate possession. Well, it's safe to say after watching the game, that I couldn't have been any further from the truth. It looks like some fellow members here made themselves a tidy profit. With the way the Germans had been playing throughout the tournament, I thought I'd play it safe and went with Italy or draw double chance @ 5/6 which seemed like a sensible bet at the time. But hey, we're all gamblers, hindsight can both be a wonderful and a dreading thing. Looking back, I wish I laid down a larger stake but either way, I'm pleased that I was able to reap some reward from the game. Now it certainly looks like its going to be an interesting final. I'm certainly interested to see what the bookmakers odds are after watching the game tonight. I'm not going to jump to conclusions but I must admit, I'm leaning towards the Italians. They looked solid throughout and I've got a feeling the Spanish are going to have a real hard time seeing past the Italian defense. I mean, some of the tackles thrown in within the Italian box were out of this world. Any wrong move and it could have easily gone in the favour for a German penalty. So anyway, on that note, congratulations to everyone that seen past the all mighty German side. Let's hope we can do as well in the final! :ok
bet 365 have: spain 11/10 draw 9/4 and Italy 11/4 i think italys price will get bigger though
  15. Re: England v Italy > June 24 well done on the 0-0- boooyz ;) 4-2 on pens was a good one too! Its got to be spain - germany final now - will be looking at germany -1 unless the odds on a straight win are good enough. also Joe Hart take away the penalties; in 90mins he was utter poo. If any shots were on target he would have no chance. Deutchland outright for me ;) :cigar

  16. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 30th 3.50 sedgefiled ESME RIDES AGAIN 4/1 with bet365 has proven stamina all the way to 4miles and will prefer the faster ground. has been running over 3miles most of carreer with good efforts struggling to get past one. Fancy him to get the head on front today :cigar
