  1. Re: Horse Laying Focus Since I am just following you blindly cause I am a degen and know close to nothing about horse racing and horse racing markets. I have some questions. I layed Rosco @ 5.1 but shortly after the price started to fall down to like 4.6 or something to back it and then it drifted back to 6 to back it and all this is before the race. What is the reason for these fluctuations in prices?

  2. Re: UEFA Champions League > 13th - 14th July BATE - FH Interestingly BATE is playing Icelandic opposition for the 3rd time in 4 seasons. They also played FH in 2007. That time they beat them 1-3 away although they did allow 1-1 at home, I think that was more because of the away result. Then they beat Valur in both games, Valur also from Iceland. This time they want to get the result in the homegame. FH is best team imo in Iceland but their style doesn't translate well to European football. They are a bit open at the back and probably concede too much which isn't a problem in Iceland as they just score more but for this game it will be a big problem. Also Fylkir from Iceland just lost 1-6 on aggregate against a much much poorer Belarus side than BATE. Also BATE must have more money since they made CL recently so I assume a stronger team. So a super home banker IMO and I would also fancy some BATE+1 bets or like somebody else did here, BATE only team to score which seems like an excellent bet.

  3. My results so far in Icelandic picks Picks 6 Correct 4 Avg. Odds: 1.63 P/L: +1.38 units Games 14.07.2010 Fjardarbyggd - Thor Akureyri I think overs price is slightly bloated because of freakish 6-3 result in last game by Thor. Fjardarbyggd will most likely play a very defensive game and try to hold their own. Four of their last five have been unders and coach said in interview they have been working on plugging the defence after only a 0-1 loss away against Leiknir. Also Thor was under three of five games before the 6-3 game and the previous game between these teams was 1-0 for Thor earlier this summer. pick: Under 2,5 goals @2.30 for 10 units (Bwin) *** HK - Vikingur Vikingur seems to be seperating itself as the best team in the 1st league winning four in a row. Meanwhile HK seems to have some problems and a 6-3 loss last round looked a little nasty. Based on recent form and team strengths this looks like good value for an away win. pick: Vikingur to win @ 2.4 for 10 units (Bwin) *** KA Akureyri - IA Akranes KA hasn't scored for 4 straight games now and things don't seem positive around the team. IA has started to get results after horrible start. I am not gonna pick here but I suggest either under for 2.3 or IA to win @2.55. Good luck!

  4. Re: 12.07 Icelandic Cup

KR Reykjavik - Throttur Reykjavik Will both teams score in the match?
    Pick: No 1.90
@Bwin I think this really is a strong bet
Unlucky, Throttur put in 2 goals completely at the end of the game a man down! KR do that too much, relax at the end of the games when they shoud have put it completely away already.
  5. KR Reykjavik - Throttur Reykjavik The odds aren't high but this is a sure banker. I'd like to feel differently as Throttur is my team but unfortunately there is not a chance in hell Throttur will mount even the slightest challenge. We have never challenged KR, we always lose. Last year we lost against more or less the same KR team something like 0-4 at home. We were relegated and lost our key players and our team is total scheid this season in the 2nd division conceiding against teams that used to be close to automatic wins in the past. Pick: KR to win @ 1.28 for 10 units. *** Vikingur Olafsvik -Stjarnan 1st division team against a 3rd division team. Even though Stjarnan has struggled away they beat 3rd division team easily earlier in the cup and FH away in the league. This is a good game for them to get their confidence going again after two defeats in the league. Pick: Stjarnan to win @ 1.71 for 10 units. *** Fram - Valur Anybodies game really. Fram played really poorly against FH and have some suspensions but also Valur has struggled lately and couldn't put away and almost lost against Haukar in the league. Will be a hard fought game and if forced to pick I'd say Fram to win @ 2.3 but I just don't have any feel for this game so will not pick myself.

  6. Re: 08.07 Pepsideildin - Iceland Overall pretty happy with my predictions. Grindavik - Selfoss 1-1 -10 units I predicted Grindavik win and they took the lead. I haven't seen the highlights but heard they were better and missed an easy sitter late second half and the goal they conceded was own goal. FH Hafnarfjordur - Fram 4-1 Went to see this game and though I didn't pick, my suggestion was good. Indeed an FH win and sure overs. Breidablik - Stjarnan 4-0 +5,5 units Easy overs as predicted IBV - Keflavik 2-1 My suggestion was a draw and I felt a 1-1. Unfortunately IBV grabbed a late winner on the 94th minute to shatter my draw suggestion. Valur - Haukar 2-2 Scheid result for Valur who should win this matchup. Like I said I thought price wasn't worth it but my suggestion of Valur win didn't come through. Standings for picks: Picks 4 Correct 3 Avg. Odds: 1.7 P/L: +8.3 units

  7. So far: Picks: 2 Correct: 2 Avg. Odds 1.64 P/L: +12.8 units Todays games: Grindavik - Selfoss Grindavik is a much more experienced side than newly promoted Selfoss. This is a very vital game in the relegation battle this season and no team is more experienced than Grindavik in avoiding the relegation. Every season they seem to battle it and beat it. Grindavik's play recently has been more encouraging following the coaching change. They got praise for their play despite 1-0 defeat at KR in last round. Selfoss after an encouraging start have lost 6 league games in a row. They seem a class below the rest of the league and they are. I think the price for a home win is great. I was in Grindavik today and it's slightly windy....conditions the home team is super used to at home and can even be considered an added home advantage. pick: Grindavik to win @ 1.95 for 10 units *** FH Hafnarfjordur - Fram I don't have confidence in picking a winner here. FH completely controlled the game vs Keflavik last round but only got a draw. FH have conceded a goal against every decent team recently and my feeling is a home win 2-1. So I would go for overs if I was picking. suggestion: Over 2,5 goals, FH to win *** Breidablik - Stjarnan The price is not very good but it's hard too see this one not getting overs. Stjarnan have struggled away but got rid of that ghost with away victory against champions FH. I don't feel confident picking a winner because even though I fancy Breidablik, Stjarnan play relentless attacking football. Add to that they also always condede a goal away from home and it's hard to see this one not being overs. I'll add that last 6 games for Breidablik are overs. pick: Over 2,5 goals @ 1.55 for 10 units *** IBV Vestmannaeyjar - Keflavik Can't quite figure out IBV. Keep waiting for them to stop getting results but maybe they are just a contender this year. They lost a key loan player but now it seems they are getting him back for at least a month. They were a bit fortunate last round despite 0-2 away win since Stjarnan was attacking the whole game. Keflavik doesn't concede much and somehow this smells like a draw to me. suggestion: Draw *** Valur - Haukar Interesting match. These teams have the same founder and share a history in that way and are always interlinked because of that. In that sense Haukar is always the little brother at least when it comes to football. I expect the class to tell in this game. Haukar have 3 foreign players on trial but I don't think they are available for this match. Even thoug I expect Valur win, at this low price I'll stay away. suggestion. Valur to win

  8. Selfoss - Breidablik Breidablik are a class better and home advantage is not big in Iceland. Breidablik has great form lately only losing one game againt a resurgent Grindavik side but that game was played in super windy condition which I predicted elsewhere would favour Grindavik since they play most of their homegames in pretty windy conditions. At the other end, Selfoss have now lost 5 in a row after an encouraging start. It's like Barkley says about november in the NBA, its tough because the bad teams don't know they are bad yet. Pick Breidablik @1.65 for 10 units I am gonna track my picks in Icelandic League. I already posted one yesterday and I'll start with that although I could go further back in this forum where I advised against a pick in Stjarnan-Keflaviik and picked correctly KR-IBV and Selfoss-FH. I'll just go with flat 10 units every bet. So currently: Picks 1 Correct 1 Avg. odds: 1.63 P/L +6.3 units

  9. KR - Grindavik Pick: KR to win @1.63 KR is following the script of last year more or less. Slow start, good European campaign and furious finish. Last year they had good results in European League and ended up winning 10 out of last 11 games. They are bound to do similar things this year, midweek they disposed easily of Glentoran at home with a 3-0 win and I think they should have a rather easy time with Grindavik at home here.
