  1. Re: Liverpool v Southampton > Sunday August 17th For me I think Southampton will take a while to adjust to the way things are now. They've had the heart and soul ripped out of them over a relatively short space of time and will take time to gel. Liverpool have had a brilliant pre season and I think they'll be fine without Suarez. The instant reaction of fans when a top side loses their top player is catastrophe, "how will they cope" etc and every time they find a replacement.

  2. Re: Club Friendlies 2014

There's a game kicking off at 10 between Tanjong Pagar and Metro Gallery Sun Source. Metro Gallery Sun Source are a third division side (newly promoted) in Hong Kong' date=' and were beaten 5-0 by Warriors earlier in the week. Both Warriors and Tanjong are in the top Singapore league, and there are only a couple of places between the two sides. Tanjong HT/FT is @ 1.72 and Tanjong - 1.75 is @ 1.90 - bet365. I think it'll be another mauling tbh and the straight win price has already been cut from 1.33 this morning.[/quote'] Apologies anyone that followed this. Must have been the weather but Tanjong lost 4-2. Went 2-1 up in the first half and missed a PEN before conceding three late goals.

  4. Re: West Ham v Tottenham Hotspur > Saturday August 16th West Ham look pretty poor to me in pre season and are going to be overly reliant on Andy Carroll. Unless they can work a plan b into their game plan they'll be in for a tough season. Sam Allerdyce is getting a lot of stick too so don't be surprised if the West Ham fans are on his back if they don't start well. Its only just the start and he's already had the dreaded vote of confidence so the writing appears to be on the wall.

  5. Re: Club Friendlies 2014 The price on Granada has been smashed today.... Gutted I didn't take the 1.61 on offer at the start of the day. Granada / Granada is still 1.57 though. For the record they're playing a Moroccan side called Moghreb Tetouan. They won their league last year, the top division in Morocco.

  6. Re: England > Capital One Cup > 11th & 12th August 2014

Portsmouth V Peterborough @ 2.4 - bet365. Pains me to say it but Peterborough look good value to beat us tonight. We seem to be priced up almost as though we're in the same league, partly due to our name. However any time we come up against better opposition we tend to not do too well. We were beaten by Charlton and Bournemouth in pre season and defence is still an issue for us. I see this being 1-2 or 1-3, as we do have real goal threats, but ultimately our openness will be our undoing against a better quality side.
Rubbish. The only clean sheet Pompey will keep for a long time!

  8. Re: England > Capital One Cup > 11th & 12th August 2014 Worth noting though that Exeter's injury crisis has eased somewhat, with the players that were sick now almost fully recovered. Bournemouth will be making several changes to the team that played at the weekend. Expect Adam Smith, Dan Gosling, Brett Pittman, Elliott Ward, Ian Harte, Junior Stanislas, and Daryl Flahavan all to start. Should still see off Exeter though.

  9. Re: England > Capital One Cup > 11th & 12th August 2014

Birmingham vCambridge Bet Birmingham, can't believe they not won last 18 home, october 2013,if info right, lost 7 last 8 home, there abysmal record has to come to an end, surley
Looks like a potential banana skin to me mate.... Birmingham aren't the force they once were and will struggle this season. Cambridge back in the football league for the first time, and possibly riding the crest of a wave coming into this fixture. If I had to pick a bet I'd pick both to score, which I would think is fairly well priced given everyone will expect Birmingham to turn them over. Wouldn't rule out extra time either.
  10. Re: Club Friendlies 2014

One I like today is Stuttgart @ 1.80 - bet365 V Hull City. I personally haven't been that impressed with Hull and this game comes at an awkward time , only three days after an exhaustive Europa League game where they just managed to scrape past AS Trencin. In pre season they've had a small win over York City, and drawn with Barnsley and North Ferriby. All were away. Stuttgart have just arrived back from a training camp in Austria where they beat Eskisehirspor and draw with Rizespor, both of Turkey. This will be their first home fixture of pre season so I would expect a decent crowd, with Hull using the fixture to give all players game time. The season kicks off for Hull next Saturday so where as Stuttgart only have a cup game versus Bochum who are in the second league.
1-2 Hull.... Apologies anyone that followed. Was just one of those games. Hull scored very early and went 2-0 up with just their first two shots on target. Stuttgart didn't start playing until the thirtieth minute, and even missed a pen in the first half....
  11. Re: Club Friendlies 2014

Oh god' date=' this could be a disaster then! Already placed the bet but I could cash out, going to have a look around more for info or I'll just let it ride.[/quote'] Looks like they might be facing All Ahli from the United Arab Emirates? :unsure EDIT: Looks like that was the side beaten 6-2 by Hannover? Soccerway have it listed incorrectly I think.

  13. Re: Sky Bet League 2 > Saturday August 9th

I'm changing my mind completely after looking at the fixture list again. I think we have a great chance of beating Exeter on Saturday. Portsmouth @ 2.4 - Coral Exeter look in real poor shape going into this fixture to me. They're still under a transfer embargo and have now lost experienced defender Danny Coles to Forest Green. The average age of their squad is 22, and whilst I admit they could have a few starlets in their side, I couldn't ignore the inexperience in the side. Ignoring the experience that Danny Butterfield and Matt Oakley bring, there is a glaring hole through the heart of the side. In goal they only have James Hamon and Christy Pym who are both under 20. Their strikers have an average age of about 20. They all look like ex youth players to me. Throw into the mix the sickness bug that has been going around camp and various injuries to a few players that seems to have disrupted things. Pompey have on paper one of the most lethal attacks in League Two and "should" take advantage of the state Exeter find themselves in.
Disappointing. Well done Allthethings :clap Pompey battered them most the game and should probably have won.

  17. Re: Club Friendlies 2014 Agree about the Spurs pick, looks like a solid one. Two that caught my eye were Leverkusen @ 2.65 - Ladbrokes away to Southampton. As well as Porto @ 2.3 - StanJames away to West From. Southampton are in all sorts of trouble going into the new season. They've lost a lot of key players, and will now be without Morgan Schneiderlein after he wasnt allowed to join Spurs. In true footballer style he's thrown his toys out of his pram and won't play any part this weekend. Leverkusen have had a pretty decent run of things in pre season whilst this is by far the toughest game Southampton will face yet. Porto are probably the pick I'm most confident with. They've had a good pre season and should have beaten Everton but only managed a 1-1 draw. WBA have lost their last two friendlies, both to lower league opposition and if Porto play with the same intensity they did against Everton I can't see Albion coning away with anything.

  19. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 7th August 2014

I think this could be a risky bet tbh. Trencin were well beat 2 weeks ago in the EL losing 3-0 at the hands of Vojvodina' date=' a Serbian super league outfit who finished a whole 27 points off Serbian league winners Zvezda last term. The gulf in class between Vojvodina and Hull is enormous so if Trencin let the Serbians put 3 goals past them on their away trip I don't see how Trencin can be backed as a value bet against Premier league opposition.[/quote'] Hull were dire in the first leg though for a Premier League side. Trencin were marginally better. I know it was away but there are doubts over how easy Hull will find it to win.
  20. Re: Club Friendlies 2014 Chasetown @ 2.87 - bet365 V Walsall XI. One that caught my eye, mainly due to the fact Walsall played last night and lost 1-0 to Villa. The squad that takes to the field tonight at Chasetown will be a very very youthful one as Walsall used 23 different players last night and start their league campaign on Saturday, whilst Chasetown don't start their campaign until the 16th. This was also a rearranged friendly fixture from 31st of July, and probably only being played as a commitment to the partnership between Chasetown and Walsall. (Walsall reserves play their home games here). Hence the lack of first teamers here purely because of the schedule. There will only be five or six players from the Walsall first team on duty tonight, all are under 20 (I'm assuming as only one has a wikipedia page!). I'll take the non league club to cause an upset of sorts.
