  1. Re: Sky Bet League One > 6-7 Apr Following on from the above, Fleetwood look decent value. They have an outside chance still of reaching the playoffs while Yeovil are down and in dreadful form, having lost their last five. Including six out of their last seven aways. Even money looks a decent bet :ok Sent from my Blade S6 using PL Forum

  2. Re: Netherlands > Jupiler League > 2014/15

NEC crowned themselves champions last friday. A big celebration in the city of Nijmegen. They are back in topflight after one year in the second league. After you won the championship the last thing that is on your mind is the next match, especially when it's three days later. FC Oss already has a ticket for the play offs but they've got a lot to play for. The top 5 and the two relegation clubs skip the first round of the play off. Someting FC Oss really wants. Home win? A little tricky... My bet is FC Oss on the european handicap 1-0 1,96 @ local
I agree, it was one I noticed. FC oss are pretty strong at home too so I personally didn't see the favouritism in the away side. Sent from my Blade S6 using PL Forum
  3. Re: FA Cup > January 2nd - 5th

I respectfully disagree :). I've looked at each side's shots on target stats (shots for and against) for their last five league games. It's a reasonable indicator of a team's current effectiveness. The gap in divisions is another factor to take into account of course.
Surely you need to look at the calibre of opponent they faced during that period? Colchester may have been playing weak league one opponents. Colchester's last five games, (assuming you mean home and away) were versus Crawley, Gillingham, Yeovil, Rochdale and MK Dons. Bar MK Dons (Maybe Rochdale too, even though they are only ten points above Colchester) are the only sides well above them in the league. The other three are down with them. Cardiff's stats on the other hand are a little harder to assess as the Championship is quite open, although you'd expect a few goals as they've scored eight in their last five.
  4. Re: UAE-Cup

I thought the penalty was just inside the area (that's where the contact was made). Al Shabab looked the more dangerous side' date=' but Al Ain were much better than expected.[/quote'] It was quite a dramatic fall though. I'd have said contact was outside the area personally and he dived in to the area like superman!
  5. Re: Sky Bet Championship > December 28th - 30th

Only 1 bet going in my cavy which is Bournemouth. Keep it simple' date=' one of the best teams with no injuries against ok a wounded Milwall but nether less not playing well.[/quote'] The price looks a bit weak to me for this league? Bournemouth clearly the better side but their playing style often allows for the odd goal to go against them. They also gave up a two goal lead at home to Millwall not so long ago if memory serves :ok
  6. Re: Sky Bet League 1 > December 28th & 29th

Hi all' date=' I've already checked team news and form and I've picked 3 out which look good to include in your Accra. Bristol City, Mkdons and Swindon. All against sub inferior teams some with injuries which makes it even better.[/quote'] Could we please see some reasoning mate otherwise people won't know why to select them :ok
  7. Re: Catania-Carpi. Serie B. 28.12.2014

I find it strange that the odds have not been down to evens though' date='even more they have risen from 2.2 this morning with bet365,to 2.3.Catania showed hell of a spirit agaisnt Citadella, but Carpi are a totally different proposition and 100% will be in Serie A next season. They have a better squad but i canno get why the odds are not dropping.[/quote'] Nine points clear at the top so they have a bit more freedom to play with. Catania's home record. Catania's missing list isn't that bad. All reasons why the price in my opinion isn't shifting. Motivation is probably more on Catania's side, despite the fact Carpi are the better side.
  8. Re: Sky Bet League 2 > Sunday December 28th Absolutely amazed you can get even money on a Luton win over us today. The bookies haven't quite cottoned on to the fact that despite our name, pulling power and expectations (also playing squad, as we have some good players). We are presently showing relegation form with only three wins in our last five, all at home on very random occasions. Our away form is very troubling indeed. We haven't won since august, and are struggling for goals with only three in our last ten. Losing games to sides above or below us in the league table, 3-1 away losses to Tranmere are massive worries. I'm sure that our pre season expectations were to gain promotion, and we're now having to pretty much write our season off and its only half way done. The board are coming in for some flack as they seem reluctant to fire yet another club legend, having already moved on longstanding coach, Alan Mcloughlin. Contrast that to Luton's return to the league tier and its really astonishing how anyone can offer that price. They've won their last eight at home and have only conceded once in the process. Luton's biggest gate of the season is expected today and I fully expect the fans to be booing us off again come 5pm.

  9. Re: Catania-Carpi. Serie B. 28.12.2014 Its not as bad as would seem though as Catania have a huge squad. 21 players have still been called up for the match day. Catania have also got quite a young squad, and despite having men sent off against Citadella, they still managed to score two when down to nine men. They probably look weak in defence as only five defenders have been called up. Just look at Catania's home form as well. Only one loss this season.

  10. Re: Capital One Cup > December 16th & 17th

I don't think Rogers will be fired if Liverpool loose to Bournemouth because it's not an important competition. However' date=' he could be fired if they loose to Arsenal regardless of the outcome of the match tonight because they'll be seven points off the direct rival for the fourth place.[/quote'] No your right he won't get fired but they could lose against Bournemouth, and still lose to Arsenal regardless of the team he sticks out tonight.
  11. Re: Capital One Cup > December 16th & 17th

Don't you think Rogers will rest some of the starters for the decisive match with Arsenal in the weekend? A win against Arsenal will put Liverpool just 2 point off their main rival for the fourth place. In a similar situation Rogers rested more or less the whole team in a midweek match with Real Madrid (!) for a decisive home PL match in the weekend - in that case it was Chelsea.
Tbh I don't think Rodgers or Liverpool can afford at this point a loss, so his hand may be forced a bit into playing a strong side. The game against Madrid was a dead rubber as they'd have probably lost with a stronger first eleven so it made sense to make changes. Here it makes no sense for Rodgers to take chances unless he has a death wish!
  12. Re: AS Roma v Manchester City > Wednesday December 10th

Not so crazy. I remember a match I did my bollox on a few seasons ago' date=' when Peterborough United were playing Sheff Wed in a six pointer at the end of the season. Wednesday set up for a draw, went behind and lost, and I swore a vendetta against Wednesday manager Dave Jones. Sometimes coaches think their best chance is a draw.[/quote'] Hard to compare the likes of Dave Jones with Rudi Garcia though? Not that I know too much about him but they seem a world apart.
  13. Re: Most Reliable Betting League That's a very subjective question. Whether or not a league is profitable is very much dependant on the knowledge and skill of the punter in that particular league. In my opinion, of course you can have people skilled in various leagues but generally the people that find them profitable are the people that have the knowledge to make them that way.

  14. Re: Southampton v Manchester City > Sunday November 30th

I think that Southampton's position in the league is a little misleading. Look, they have done fantastically well but at home they have not played any of the TOP half of the table. Leicester 2-0 Stoke 1-0 Sunderland 8-0 QPR 2-1 Newcastle 4-0 WBA 0-0 Newcastle and QPR were struggling when they played them. Sunderland are in plenty of trouble this season. Stoke very inconsistent. Leicester with just 1 away goal in 6 away games. I thought Saints looked terrible against Villa on Monday night. Everything was slow, and one paced. Sure they conceded a goal by goalkeeper mistake, but they never really looked like dominating and winning the game. Man City are the only team that can mount any type of challenge for Chelsea this season. Beating Bayern (even against 10 men) is not easy. It will give them confidence. Get Aguero the ball and let him do his thing. They have scored in every away game this season, and have 2 goals in a game in 5/6 games. I just don't see City dropping points here, and the 2.2 is a terrific price for the away win.
Totally agree with this. Form is temporary, class is permanent is usually a phrase I have in the back of my mind when looking at two teams, and their respective recent form. Looking at Southampton you probably wouldn't expect them to finish above seventh and as the form suggests they are yet to face a top four side. The thing with City is that they blow hot and cold and have conceded this season to weak opponents. I'd expect them to be more focused against Southampton and buoyed by the win over Bayern.
  15. Re: Ludogorets Razgrad v Liverpool > Wednesday November 26th

I think the fact that neither side can qualify if they don't win this game will make the game more cautious.
Personally I'd have said the opposite as a draw helps neither side. Its a tough one regarding overs because I think you're right, in that one side will become a lot more cautious should they go one up. But that depends on the time at which they score. Score in the first ten minutes not a lot will change. Both to score is priced @ 1.8 or thereabouts and that looks a decent play as its much lower elsewhere. Just the way Ludogrets have played at home in this competition makes Liverpool poor value in my eyes.
  16. Re: Conference South/North 22nd November

North Ferriby look a big price 9-5 if it's still available at lowestoft also fancy solihull and fylde at first glance
The only thing that would put me off is their away form. Their results aren't impressive and there's only five points between the two sides, although I don't specifically know anything about either side!
  17. Re: FA Cup > November 18th & 19th

Aldershot v Portsmouth I know Pompey fan Jase disagrees somewhat, but I see this game as a bit of a derby. Because the two clubs are quite close to each other and within easy reach by road and rail. '..
Depends what you class as a derby mate? If you're purely talking about the locality, then yes, we are very close. But does the location ultimately mean it to be a different contest.. What factors make the derby a different prospect in which the game unfolds? I suppose there is less travel time for the away side which could be a factor, things like the time both clubs have for planning and strategy would be equal as there wouldn't be any overnight stays etc.
  18. Re: FA Cup > Tuesday November 18th

Thoughts on Aldershot from the non league experts? I'm always keen to oppose Portsmouth away from home.
I'd like to think that man for man we'd have no problem but we haven't been great this season. Its been OK in fits an spurts. I thought Awford really missed the point when he bemoaned Robinson's sending off for not gaining a win (he may have just been trying to spin a positive out of it). Regardless of the sending off we conceded poor goals and let them into the game too much. After going ahead early on we rested on our laurels, possibly expecting to win a bit too much because of the gap in league status. Hopefully Awfs will be able to gee us up for the second leg, and cut out the sloppiness at the back!
