  1. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 April Fc porto line up is very strong, going to plump with them to continue their fantastic run, Moscow will come out and attack which will leave alot of room for Porto to exploit. Hulk, Falcao, Gaurin, Moutinho all starting, full strength. Getting on myself now, odds have dropped but still look good value Good luck everyone!!! Il post later about the late matches. :hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope

  2. Re: UEFA Europa League > 15th-17th February I'm looking at having a Benfica- Basel double tonight as both are strong home teams against weakened opposition. Benfica have been hotly tipped on this thread already as they are playing a Stuttgart team badly out of shape. I would appreciate any more information on Basel as I do not know too much about them apart from their participation in this years champions league. I have seen the helpful post about the injuries for Spartak and the fact that Wellington is out is a huge plus for Basel. Lille were the other team I was considering but it is unclear whether they will play at full strength as the league has been suggested as been more important for them. Thanks all and happy punting!

  3. Re: Euro 2012 Qualifying > 7th September I personally will be keeping my international stakes low but feel many of you are talking about the likes of France and Portugal on history and 'name' alone. Both Bosnia and Norway are to be respected at home and France and Portugal have notable problems. I dont think we need to talk about the internal problems of France but the Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz is suspended for 6 month for alleged interference after a random drugs test, add the fact that Ronaldo is out and Cyprus scored 4 against them at the weekend makes them weak favorites. Portugal have won on their previous 2 visits to Norway but both occasions it was by the odd goal (1-2, 0-1) and didn't have their current problems. To be able to back both the draw and Norway win at over evens represents very good value in my opinion.

  4. Re: UEFA Europa League Final > 12th May

This post is an absolute CLASSIC!!!!!! The downfall of been a punter. Iv been there myself over Fulhams Europa league run but buckled the trend and went with Fulham against both Wolfsburg and Hamburg so have a few good memories of this run. Tonights game is one that falls into the same category as all of Fulhams other Europa League games as on paper they should lose, although they have a greater team spirit, player for player they are generally weaker than Athletico. Football is not played on paper however and I find it hard betting against a team which has overcome the underdogs tag on numerous occasions already. My bets for tonights match will be- Forlan First goal @ 5-1 (medium stakes) Both teams to score @ 5-6
Job done at half time, made a good bit of dough on Forlan and also took 10-1 for Madrid to win in extra time and 12-1 on each of the teams to win on pens, just enjoying the match now. Great final!!!!
  5. Re: UEFA Europa League Final > 12th May

Atletico v Fulham Well well well. To prove how jinxed I really am, little Fulham have made it to a european final solely on the back of me betting against them in every round. Its been an incredible journey, one which we embarked last July with the minnows Ankar Perm. Actually I lied I did back them to beat Perm, but they were about 1.1, and it was only £20 because I was bored, so it doesnt count. Since then, both form and class have shown their opponents to be the better side almost every time, and in good faith I have bet on their opposition pretty much every round. And, spurred on by the mystical force that only a team I have opposed seem able to muster, Fulham have won and beaten the odds every time. Every sodding time, they have either played above themselves or they have played badly, it doesnt matter because that intangible force, the one that I shall name the "Vilamoura factor" has rewarded Fulham with unfeasibly good luck every single time. Their opponents have all imploded on themselves with mesmeric regularity (any of the germans). Or the referees have given them decisions, or both (Juventus). Or they have had 250 corners and had the ball in fulhams box for whole games but not managerd to score (donetsk). Or theyve just been hugely unlucky. All this has cost me money. Lots of it, all frittered away into the grinning sweaty hands of the bookmakers and betfair nerds. Never to be seen again. Gone forever. Hard earned, stolen from me. But Im not bitter. Actually I am bitter. Im really ******* bitter. Everyones going on about how great it is that plucky fulham have made it to the uefa cup final. Isnt it smashing for such a lovely little club to get so far, the whole country is so proud of them. Actually its not great. Fulham are no bigger than Oxford, what the **** are they doing in the UEFA cup final while Oxford languish in the conference. Just because their benevolent owner throws money at them. Why is it distasteful that Chelsea buy success but not Fulham? Just because he doesnt throw as much at them? As a punter who tries to make money betting on football using logical thought, assessing the opposing teams quality, their respective form, and previous results in the competition, its a slap in the face. They have overturned teams they shouldnt have time and again, through a combination of a very tight home pitch and negative tactics (although its not called negative tactics when they do it, its called being "well organised"). How can you call them negative when they have had some high scoring games, you ask. But I didnt say they were any good at negative tactics, did I. And all the sycophanting about Woy bloody Hodgson...England manager my arse. I remember Blackburn. Some people remember Bristol City. So, theyve pissed me off. But the last laugh will be mine. Im betting on them to win tonight. Lets see how good they are without the unfair advantage of me jinxing the opposition. Fulham to win the Europa League @ 2.6 (betfair)

  6. Re: UEFA Europa League 22nd April Decided im not going to touch the Fulham match tonight, dont want to go against Fulham during this Europa league run, just want them to go and win it now because they have been so refreshing for the world of football. Going with my instinct on the Liverpool match, Athletico to win @11-8 and cover by having 1-1 @ 11-2. I can see Liverpool soaking up the presure but they wont hold out all night. Benitez has said that he wants to take a goal back to anfield so it depends if he really goes for it. With players like Gerrard in the side you can never be 100% that liverpool will struggle but having seen them with Torres alot this season they were average. Without Torres and they are very average. Athletico to win @11-8 Correct score cover of 1-1 @11-2 Correct score prediction 2-1 Athletico. Good luck to Fulham tonight

  7. Re: UEFA Europa League 22nd April Its a little bit to early to be 100% about Thursdays games but at first glance Athletico Madrid look a great price at 11-8. Liverpool have had a terrible season bar this competition but are now without Torres for the rest of the season. The world class striker changes not only the style of Liverpools play but also the confidence which runs through the players around him. The replacements avaliable to Benitez dont even come close to Torres and im sure the Athletico defence will be sleeping much, much easier knowing they will not have to face him. Anfield will always be a difficult place to go in the second leg for Madrid so a first leg lead will be seen as essential for their progression to the final. Although Madrid are in bad form themselves going into this match they will have taken confidence from overcoming Valencia in the last tie and in Forlan and Aguero they have greater firepower avalable than pool. Liverpool have relied heavily on Gerrard to drag them through the past few seasons as many of Benitez's signings have fallen well short of expectations at Anfield. Gerrard, by his own admission, has not had the best of seasons, played out of position and having the pressure of his reputation along with the burden of less experienced players alongside him. Athletico to win looks the bet @ 11-8 Thoughts?

  8. Re: UEFA Europa League 8th of April Hi everyone, im really liking the look of Wolfsberg to win the match. Fulham's poor away record has already been highlighted and the 2-0 loss at Hull recently underlines their poor away record. Im going to have my winnings from last nights Bordeaux win on Wolfsberg, regardless of whether Zamora starts or not. IMO the loss of Dempsey is a much bigger concern because it was no coincedence that when he was out injured for a period this season Fulhams results suffered. He came bach to score THAT goal against Juventus and get Fulham to this stage. Im very confident that Wolfsberg will win this one, probably not easily as Fulham are a stuborn side, but they will get the win. In the first leg Dzeko was a massive threat but the power and pace of Grafite will also cause problems. Add a creative midfield and i think they will have too much firepower for Fulham. Good Luck all:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope

  9. Re: Champions League 7th of April

Sky Sports reporter: "So Laurent, what's the overriding emotion after that result?" Laurent Blanc: "Well, listen, I'm gutted we're not in the semi-finals, but I tell you what, all that pales into insignificance, because we won the match and that BookiesNo1Enemy is now a bit richer because of it." Well done on your win mate. Just remember, the bookie will have his day too.
I know, the problem is I was attempting to do the 'bet a bit and win alot' bets but didn't really appreciate how much i was still losing. Now I group what i would put on spread over alot of bet and pick well selected singles and doubles, if one or two go wrong im covered but can't afford to have a month of bad picks!!!!!!!:cheers Trust me every time break-time comes around im into the stats and trends!!!!!!! Love the joke by the way, great stuff!!!:lol

Ha Ha love it!!! Problem is now I owe Laurent, or to his mates, laury, a tenner out of my winnings for mentioning me on telly, hel do anything for a few euros!!!:rollin
  11. Re: Champions League 7th of April

With the score at 3-1 at half time i'm goingfor some Bayern to qualify at 11/4. They have to now win the second half to qualify and i think they stand a fair chance of doing that. Bayern have not been in the game too much but Robben showed at the end of that half how dangerous he is.
Well done mate, read this at half time and thought you were brave, now i know it was simply inspired!!!!!:cheers :spank:spank:spank:spank:spank:spank
  12. Re: Champions League 7th of April

I thought this was a forum to HELP each other win money from the bookies, come on lads lets enjoy each others thoughts but totally agree with some, im not a fan of text speak or aggressive remarks either. I think what Big punter baby means is that its difficult to write off Utd, even without Rooney I find it hard to bet against them because the likes of Berbatov, Fletcher, Park and Giggs can all interchange but the match winners are Nani and Valencia. On form the pair could rip a weak looking defence apart, however if they don't perform Utd will be in trouble-lets face it Berbatov is not a player you need when trying to fight for a lead. Remember though BPB the golden rule of betting is that you should never bet with your heart- always bet with your head!!!:ok It sounds in your post that you are letting your heart do the betting-always an easy way to lose money AND faith in your team. Im swerving the Man u game, too close to call!!!:unsure My money will be on Bordeaux tonight, Iv highlighted my reasons in an earlier post but IMO 11-10 is a great price for a home win on the night. Lyon have a good advantage from the first leg but with players out and Bordeaux at home it could be a long, difficult night for Lyon. I hope so anyway because my weekend winnings are on them to win the game tonight. Good luck all:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope
Get in there Bordeaux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A 1-0 win might not have got you through but you can rest easy as you just made me loads!!!!!!!!!!!!:rollin Im:spank those bookies all over the place!!! At the min im making far more out of inspired bets than as an English teacher, tells you something!!!!! Hope everyone else was on and also didn't have Man U to qualify and just to win the match.:cheers
  13. Re: Champions League 7th of April What a couple of first halfs we just had!!!!!! Don't really need to say much about Man U, im sure that match will be a major talking point on here all night so il just update you on the Bordeaux match incase not many of you kept an eye on it. As i said earlier i went for Bordeaux with quite a large stake on. This was just for Bordeaux to win the match, thought it would be tight so didn't want to look at the 'to qualify' odds. In the first 25-30 mins i wondered why i had been so confident of a Bordeaux win, it was scrappy but Lyon had the best of it. In the final 15 min Bordeaux came back strongly and how Sissoko has not been sent off for Lyon only the ref knows, 3 major fouls and 1 of them was hands up to push Wendel over, thought he was off myself but apparently in the champs league its just a caution!!!! Anyway, a great bit of build up down Bordeauxs Left and the impressive left back for Bordeaux broke into the box before pulling a ball back with a Bordeaux midfielder, possibly Gorcuff, getting a foot on it for Chamakh to find the back of the net, GET IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rollin I was so chuffed i almost split my Carling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:gimme Just hope that the fact Bordeaux really need to push for a second wont let Lyon through the back door on the counter. I hope for an early Bordeaux goal to settle the second half!!! I forgot to mention that Bordeaux's Diarra hit the bar with a screamer of a shot about 5 mins before they scored. Good luck all for the second half:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope

  14. Re: Champions League 7th of April

I was gonna go under 2.5 in that game, but hearing Lyon missing players and i knowing the Motivation and incentive has got to be with Bordeaux, they will guns blazing in front of there home fans Also fancy Bordeaux to get more corners as i expect them to do most of the attacking Bordeaux - 2 corners @ 17/20 Bordeaux @ 11/10
Just had my BIG bet on Bordeaux to win the match, stand to win quite alot. Really fancy them to come out the traps flying and perhaps get an early goal. Well iv put my money where my mouth is once again, so its time to sit back and hopefully:hope enjoy a comfortable Bordeaux win. We all know, however, that there is no such thing as an easy win in champs league (unless your Barca!) so COME ON BORDEAUX!!!!!!!!!!:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope:hope

  16. Re: Champions League 7th of April Bordeaux look the bet tomorrow guys. 3-1 down from the first leg means that they will have to push for an early goal from the off. Even if they don't overturn the first leg score you have to fancy them to win the match. After watching the first leg I know that the difference was simply that Lyon, especially Lopez, took their chances whereas Bordeaux didn't. An important note to make is that Lopez and Gomis are out for Lyon as mentioned by Rob, however i wouldnt take a chance on Bordeaux -2, it will be a tight game and if Bordeaux go 2-0 up they might sit back and soak up the presure as a 2-0 scoreline will take them through. Overall I would make Bordeaux an odds on chance (10-11) so to see 11-10 was a nice surprise. I wouldn't go crazy with the stakes but i will be having some of my winnings from the weekend on them. Main bets- Bordeaux to win the match @ 11-10 Bordeaux to win -1 @ 3-1 Good luck all :ok
