  1. two i fancy for the weekend are Derby and northampton. Derby are slowly clawing back into form with back to back wins, one a 3-1 success at brentford who thrashed saturdays opponents wolves 3-0 in midweek also at Griffin park. Wolves are in freefall and have the fans turning on their team, Afoebe leaving hasnt helped, and one of their players tweeted something about getting paid loads weather the supporters like his performances or not! Not a happy camp. Derby at odds against are good value to me given the form line which includes a 4-2 win over wolves earlier in the season

Northampton are unstoppable at the moment, on a big winning run.Opponents Hartlepool have lost 3 out of the last 4 home games against far weaker opponents, whilst the cobblers have won 9 out of their last 10 on the road and have a huge lead at the top of the table. Complacency is perhaps their biggest problem tommorrow

  2. Re: Capital One Cup Semi-Finals > January 20th & 21st Admittedly i am biased because im a chelsea fan, but this season chelsea have created so many chances in their games that the swansea result on saturday was definatley waiting to happen. This could well happen again (even tonight) but mourinio is the spanner in the works! Being a two legged semi it is not beyond reason that he will set up defensively, giving liverpool the inititive, but knowing that even with a draw, chelseas record at Stamford bridge is formidable, making them heavy favourites to progress if that is the outcome. So if chelsea go for it i can only see us winning, liverpools defence is a tad shakey with goalkeeper a problem position for them. But as the tactics are unsure i will settle on a correct score bet of chelsea 2-0. This is available at an enhanced 11-1 with sky bet, which is around double what you would normally get. 7 of chelseas 31 games in all comps has ended with this scoreline, making it good value.

  3. Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Saturday October 18th I think orient are still a decent side but they have been crippled by injuries all season. No doubt in my mind they will pick up some good victories at decent prices as players return. With teams from lower leagues their "main man " missing can be a huge minus. Lisbie at orient and Reuben Reid at plymouth are 2 that spring to my mind.

  4. Re: BBOTD Friday 14th March cheers for that aidymac. im mainly a football man but like a few ew lucky 15s at cheltenham. I backed lord windermere basically on your write up and got flaxen flame placed and changed from a meeting wipe out into a bit of profit. Thank you. great shout!

  5. Re: League 2 > January 31st & February 1st Fleetwood town have done me well this season, and think they are more than capable of doing so again. This is the 3rd game in a week for both these sides and it is widely recognised that fleetwood have one of the strongest squads in this division. Fleetwood more than matched league leaders scunthorpe on their own patch in their last game, and maybe deserved more than the one point. York are on a bit of a poor run with no wins in 3, whilst fleetwood have already beaten them comfortably 0-2 on their own ground, and had won 4 out of 4 games in January before the midweek draw with scunny. My only concern is the weather as this could even things up a little, but widely available at 4/5 Fleetwood are going in my acca. Good luck lads!

  6. Re: Manchester United v Chelsea - Mon 26th August If any side can go to old trafford with confidence its chelsea. Its simply a ground where they always seem to do well. And im talking throughout the Ferguson years starting in the mid 80s, not post Abramovich. I tend to think this has to be tight, and as a poster above says both managers would probably accept the draw but if chelsea have as much of the ball as Swansea then i think Chelsea will have that extra class to nick it. What price a Rooney o.g?

  7. Re: League 1 > Tue 12th March

maximize.gif Stevenage v AFC Bournemouth Stevenage manager Gary Smith as Preston won 2-0 and a gave Stevenage a fifth consecutive away defeat: "I thought we looked flat from the opening stages. We found it extremely difficult to get ourselves any sort of foothold in the game. Today we were second best for too long and they won the game in that period. It's now time for the players to really stand up and be counted. I expect there will be a reaction on Tuesday [against Bournemouth].” Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe after home defeat to Doncaster 1-2: "It's a similar feeling to after the Coventry game really where I thought we were the better team for the 90 minutes. We had numerous chances, hit the woodwork twice. The keeper's made a couple of great saves and we've ended up losing the game 2-1 in quite bizarre circumstances really. It's difficult to take because these are key results for us at a key time of the season. The lads gave everything, a very committed performance, at times a very good performance with a lot of technical quality but unfortunately we just weren't ruthless enough in their box and didn't take the chances that came our way." I’ll back Gary Smith in his expectations. Home win 3.00 2/10. GL
Im going to oppose you here fella! Bournemouth havent played particularly badly during their recent terrible run. Just think they will have too much firepower for stevenage. In saying that the absence of Elphick and Daniels at the back has seen them struggle to keep goals out, so btts looks a safe bet, and i`ll take bournemouth for a long awaited 3 points to keep their promotion push alive.
  8. Re: Queens Park Rangers v West Bromwich Albion > Boxing Day Fancy QPR here. This is another must win for them. Harry had a right dig at his players after the Newcastle game and he will expect a reaction. After beating Fulham at home in their last match at Loftus road, they broke their long run without a win. WBA are not the best travellers. Not a cert by any means but its QPR for me this time.

  9. Re: League 1 > Tuesday November 20th ive been on Bournemoth since the Day Eddie Howe took over the reigns and they still appeal tonight.Stevenage are probably one of the better sides they have faced since then, but they have lost their last 2 games 1-4, and the cherries are no slouches finding the net.Scunthorpe are another side benefiting from a managerial change. Brian Laws has overseen 2 cracking away wins before being held by away specialists notts co on Saturday. Bury lost at Colchester on Saturday and wont relish another away trip so soon. I fancy Scunthorpe to do the biz at better than even money.Good luck chaps!

  10. Re: Championship > 17/18 November Stand out bet for me this weekend is crystal palace at home to Derby at decent odds of 10/11 with paddy power. Palace have lost 3 games this season and they were the first 3 games OF the season. Since then they havent lost in the league and are on a real roll. Derby are not pulling up any trees at the moment and are by their managers admission missing injured forward jamie Ward. Away from home the rams are nothing special, losing the last two at lowly peterborough and last week to millwall. The eagles are second highest scorers in the division, and new manager ian Holloway will certainly not change the way they play as the 5-0 drubbing of Ipswich in the last home match proves. Im getting in early on this doing a double with bournemouth as i think the price will fall. Be lucky chaps!

  11. Re: Swansea v Chelsea > Saturday 3rd November I really hate all this, oh they need a rest and they will be tired rubbish. When they play they hardly train and most players prefer to play.Sure its different if you pick up a knock but for anyone to say a pro footballer is tired, especially at the start of a season is beyond me. So personally i`d say chelsea are a good bet today. Someone is going to be on the wrong end of a thrashing very soon. Frankly Torres is nowhere near what he was, and Sturridge is too selfish and rarely picks out the best option, but even without a top forward chelsea are full of goals. chelsea win and btts for me

  12. Re: League 1 - Oct 27-29 Personally think that bournemouth have a big chance away at carlisle. They are in a totally false position at the moment and are set to climb. Carlisle are near the bottom of the home form table and have one of the leakiest defences in the division. Rejuvenated under their new manager,Bournemouth got a great draw at notts co in midweek (a county side that had won at carlisle 4-0 on the saturday) they have recalled in form wes thomas from loan at pompey to add to their goal power. Would like a slightly better price but will still play at 13/8. I also think walsall should beat bury. I watched them on the tv against shrewsbury and bar the finishing they played a great game. They also played away at sheffield united with 10 men for 75 minutes and only lost 0-1. They are due a change of fortune and bury seem perfect opposition. Bury scraped their first win of the season in midweek thanks to rock bottom hartlepool missing a late penalty. Walsall go there with a near full strength squad and if they can convert some of the chances they create they will be worth a shout.

  13. Re: England > Weekend > League 2 > 10 September I fancy Oxford to start getting in their stride today. Having backed them ante post to go up i need them to! Todays game is a "fan day" meaning cheaper tickets and a big crowd to cheer them on. Last week Oxford created plenty of chances without reward, so their manager wasnt too hard on them after defeat. The return to the squad of 2 of their most important players is also a big boost. (Constable and Leven) Burton are tricky opponents at the moment, doing better than i expected, but i expect Oxford will edge this one.

  14. Macklin fight last night Had Macklin to win in the 5th round last night. His opponent came out for 2 SECONDS of the sixth round, and gave up without another punch being thrown! Am i right in thinking that if he had stayed on his stool it would have been classed as a 5th round stoppage?:wall
