  1. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 6-9

Its a tricky one. Usually I would be backing Halifax' date=' but Salisbury have had a bit of a break so every chance they will be fresher than their hosts tonight and because of that I am not sure the home side are much value.[/quote'] To underline this point, Salisbury travelled up yesterday afternoon. They still have some team issues, with Dan Fitchett and Elliot Frear needing a fitness test, though both have travelled and I wouldn't be surprised to see both start. Robbie Sinclair is fit and Jamie White may make the bench. I agree with addpea that this is hard game to call, though as I pointed out at the weekend Dan Gardiner is a key loss for Halifax. A sell of Salisbury's 2nd goal time at 78 is a sporting play tonight (Spreadex, Sporting Index).
  2. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 6-9

Ships or addpea? what about Worcester - telford 2 and Boston - workington 1 ? tnx in advance!
The best has gone out of the Telford price - they were of interest at an early show of 17/20. Worcester City are not nearly as bad as the drubbing by BPA suggests. It was a bad day at the office but that was a home side who were much stronger than in recent weeks as key players returned. AFC Telford are sometimes undone by teams who attack them, but Worcester don't have the personnel for that (they are the lowest scorers in the league by some margin). Even though Worcester have today draughted in two bodies to shore up the defence, it's really hard to see past Telford but the price is poor. I'm not the biggest fan of Boston United this season, but they really should win tonight - Worko are apparently missing two of Saturday's starters (Kyle May and Lee Andrews) and three from the bench because of work commitments, though Alberto Saidi is back. To be fair to Workington they play good football and perhaps just need a finisher and maybe some defensive steel, but they don't have much room to bring players in and they looked doomed. A best of 2/5 about Boston is no value though.
  3. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 6-9

It's a mixed picture - there's a narrow band of rain across the south at the moment, taking in London and the counties to the north and it's fairly well set. This will do for quite a few matches, I think. The afternoon, though, looks better.
  4. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 6-9

any thoughts on Dulwich?? not my area the rymans but I know they are a good side with loads of threat up top' date='are leiston any good or is the 11-10 worth taking?[/quote'] Dulwich are live contenders at the right end. They're every entertaining to watch and an almost unique Ryman Prem side in that they mix pass and move football and attacking flair with youthful indiscretions at the back - recent away performances have been mixed, although they've often come good through sheer firepower. Back in the summer I took Leiston to win the Ryman - not my best ever pick, although I did say that this was the trickiest of the antepost sections (and it didn't stop me recommending Dulwich and Kingstonian at decent prices EW). Then-manager Danny Laws started the season with a strong squad but they never really clicked, and after his resignation it was a relegation threatened side that appointed Steve Pitt as manager. In slightly surprising circumstances he was very quickly replaced by his assistant Steve Ball. The feeling is that Pitt never had the dressing room, whereas Steve Ball - although inexperienced at non-league level - is full of good ideas and has seen an uptick in performances: four straight league wins followed by two defeats (to Lowey and Hendon). They have a decent squad, with David Head running things at the back and a very good and experienced midfield with the likes of Craig Parker, Stuart Broadley and Adam Tann. They haven't quite got the blend right up front: Joe Francis hasn't been as prolific as he should be. They are also well funded, but I think this will be a transitional spell for them: they can play well, but they were noticeably inferior to Lowestoft and Hendon in those defeats. The surface won't do Hamlet any favours tonight but they should have enough, though the price is too skinny for me.
  5. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 6-9

Today i expeted a AW for Wealdstone. They´ve got a long break after the last game. Last game was 28th December and the Hosts from Hendon only play one game, but this was at 4th January. So maybe there are a little bit tired. Hendon also not a good Home Team with 4-3-5. But Wealdstone the leader of the league away with suberp 8-2-0 and wining 3 in a row away. For me odds here for Wealdstone good to play it small. Wealdstone @ 2.20 3/10 bet365
12.45 inspection, Neubs. Bright and sunny at the moment in London, and only lightish rain forecast for later this afternoon, so there is a chance it will survive.
  6. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 6-9

Looking at the weather forecast it's pretty certain to be off..
It's not a great forecast on an already sodden pitch which doesn't take the water very well, so it's very likely to be a void - a 70-80 per cent chance it will be off, I'd say. However, the rain that's forecast for the south today and tomorrow is likely to be showery rather than the prolonged banks of heavy rain that we got last week. This could mean a ten minute burst or a two hour burst, but with a strong drying wind there is just a chance that Hemel could escape the worst of the weather. Hemel, incidentally, got a game in on Saturday - a 4-3 friendly win over Harrow. I'm assuming this was on a 3G somewhere.
  7. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 6-9 Corals really are going 10/11 about Hemel Hempstead Town at home to Bideford. That's Hemel who are 11-0-0 at home with 50-odd scored, against a Bideford who look down to the bare bones for this trip and were lucky to get a 0-0 at home to Hungerford yesterday. Bet it'll be P-P.

  9. Re: England > Weekend > Skrill Prem Jan 4 Middling on the spreads from me - Lincoln/Luton made up zero for a 2.9 loss - painful at my staking - and Wrexham couldn't find a second within the spread, but Gateshead goalrush made up 50 for a 20 point return, rescuing the day nicely, if not quite totally. Good ten point profit by LG on Gateshead's third, and an exceptional sell of Southport/Nuneaton total goals - superb stuff. Excellent shouts by addpea on Gateshead -2 and Southport.

  10. Re: England > Weekend > Skrill Prem Jan 4 With the trade on FGR/Salisbury voided, I've added a sell of the 2nd Wrexham goal today at home to Aldershot, 74 with Spreadex. It's risky as Wrexham's in-and-out season has mostly been out, but they have been scoring goals. Aldershot face some shuffling of the pack as the window opens and that might see the side with a transitional feel - particularly defensively - for the next couple of weeks. I still can't find a trade on the Gateshead game, and I'll swerve for now, though they have signed Luke O'Brien who is an excellent signing. I looked at Tamworth/Halifax from the point of view of selling a Halifax goal time, but they have just shifted Dan Gardner to Chesterfield, and that's a big part of their creative side gone. It shifts the balance towards Tamworth for this one.

  11. Re: England > Weekend > Skrill Prem Jan 4

I doubt Gateshead-Hyde game to be any different from Luton-Barnet game.Hyde will sit back and wait.Trying to avoid shooting from long distance.Gateshead will be the team trying to attack and play football. They will try to pass the ball which won't be easy given the weather.Anyway i expect a HW but i don't think it's worth the -1ah' date='so i will skip this one[/quote'] Those are good points, but I would say if there's one game in the Skrill Prem today where weather isn't an issue, it's this one. There have been bits and bobs of rain, but nothing like what we've seen elsewhere. There aren't even strong winds in the north-east today. With their new pitch proving to be zippy and reliable, these are good conditions for the home side.
