  1. Re: Euro 2012 Qualifying > 2nd-3rd September

Lithuania v Scotland - Scotland @ 2.7 bet365 (single) I also think Scotland are well worth a bet at the odds here. Scotland's recent away record has been really poor but that was generally against stronger opposition and was under George Burley who's reign was pretty dire. Scotland are at their best under a defensive type manager who will have them organized and hard to beat and had good results away from home under previous managers who adopted this strategy. I don't think Scotland are a great side but man for man they look better than Lithuania. The last time these sides met Scotland won 2-1 in Lithuania and 3-1 at Hampden. It will be a tough game but I think Levein will play it tight and Scotland should have enough to eek out a one goal victory, 1-0 or 2-1- the odds are slightly higher than expected. Slovenia v Northern Ireland (8/13- general)- NI have improved a lot in recent years but as someone else said maybe they have missed the boat in terms of their main qualification opportunity. They will pick up points at home but Slovenia showed at the World Cup they are a very handy side and with home advantage the 8/13 generally on offer is a decent price. Belgium v Germany (4/7 general)- Germany were another side who impressed at the World Cup hammering England and Argentina playing a very attractive counter-attacking game. Belgium have some good young players themselves and could be a force in the near future but Germany are one of the strongest nations in World football right now with a young hungry team and should have too much for the home side. Sweden v Hungary (4/9 general)- As mentioned already Sweden have won the last 5 head to heads between the side and with a difficult group they will be determined to win this one. Up front Ibrahomivic will feel he has a point to prove while Elmander has started the season well at Bolton Latvia v Croatia-( 8/13- general)- Croatia have a very strong side and will have been disappointed not to reach the World Cup. They may miss Modric but have plenty of back up in Kranjcar and Olic who had a great season last year with Bayern. They should have too much for Latvia. Bets- single Scotland 5/10 Trebles & four-fold- Slovenia, Germany, Sweden & Croatia
Logged into my account last night and thought my balance was unusually high! I backed Slovakia instead of Slovenia by mistake and they won 1-0. Absolutely brilliant, id have been raging if that mistake had gone against me! :nana:lol

All the best Spirit' date=' I like a wee Glory Hunt myself now and again, fancy a trip away to Europe sometime soon, may try one to finance my Prague trip which is occurring in the near future, good luck with yours anyway :ok[/quote'] Thanks lads, appreciate the support its only early days though I've not even won a tenner yet and got quite lucky in the MK Dons game today. Yeah always important to have it laid out clearly so others can follow start their own threads once they get the gist of it. SP- Prague is a cracking city was there last year and may be there also before the year is out :cheers

Get in,nice one,Germany did not impress me tonight though, goal came from a mistake in the Belgium defence, they didn't look the Germany we saw at the World Cup. :nana:nana:beer:beer
Well done Adam, wish I hadn't added Slovenia now :( Only stake back on that and loss on Scotland who should have won, wasteful in the final third.

  5. Re: Spirits 1 goal or more Betfair Challenge

if i am honest imo hitting 50+ is easy only if you know how the way to hit 50+ is to follow high scoring teams such as barca, real madrid, man utd, chelsea, arsenal. ajax its not the games involivng those high scoring teams that trip people up, its the millwalls, the wycombes, the sheff utds keep that in mind and you'll be there in no time
Yeah I agree mate, tonights choice is risky as I don't know much about the two teams, just was the earliest kick off and both teams games had goals in them recently. If i can get up a bit, will need to choose more carefully.
  6. Re: Spirits 1 goal or more Betfair Challenge

Tried this a few times for a laugh. Usual odds are around 1.08, and the challenge, as I read it, was to get to £1000, all in every time. I did a spreadsheet, it takes about 54 bets IIRC, depending on odds and commission of course. Good luck, I've managed about 12 in a row myself before picking a 0-0.
54 doesn't sound much or even around 60, obviously the hope is to take teams who can score / or are leaky, saw Inter drew 0-0 tonight but Italian football and any team managed by Benitez would be a no no, see how it goes anyway. Thanks mate :ok
  7. Re: Spirits 1 goal or more Betfair Challenge

Hi folks, saw this been done to good effect on another forum I frequent and on here before so gonna give it a go. Basically will be using Betfair to bet on 1 goal or more being scored in certain games. Starting with £20 and going to see how it goes. Bet 1) Atletico Madrid v Sporting Gijon- 1 goal or more @ 1.05 £20.00 to win £1.00 :hope
Bet 1- Winner- Atletico 4-0 Sporting Gijon- New Balance £20.95 Will have a look tomorrow to see what games are on.
