  1. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 16 February UEFA Competitions 2010-2011 16-17-3 -2.65 units (48.48%) Barcelona -110 to win 1 unit @ 5dimes Usually I would talj myself into Arsenal but I'm not gonna go for it. Arsenal has been severely inconsistent in some of these games this season. Your not gonna get a lot of chances to grab Barcelona at these kind of odds. Value in this pick ImO

  2. Re: February NCAAB Picks NCAAB Overall 2010-2011 33W-29L-3P -3.25 unit (53.22%) Lets see if I can get a winning day... Feb 14 WVU +5 to win 1 unit @ 5dimes I think this line is too high. This will be a close game, Huggins knows how to get this team going defensively. No reason to think this Syracuse team is all that much better then WVU either, they've been playing terribly all conference season.

Sources: NFL-union talks canceled EmailPrintComments 57 ESPN.com news services Talks scheduled for Thursday in Washington between the NFL and its players' union have been canceled, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Future Of The League In a guest column, NFL rep Greg Aiello outlines the league's problems with the CBA and ways to fix the system as the game moves forward. Story With the CBA expiring on March 3, NFLPA executive George Attallah breaks down how the players and the union view the crucial talks. Story • Sando: 10 things to know The two sides are so far apart that Wednesday's meeting in Washington broke up prior to Thursday's cancellation of discussions, according to one of those sources, who said the sides can't agree on how to split an additional $1 billion in revenue. The current collective bargaining agreement expires in three weeks. "We are not confirming, denying, or commenting on CBA meetings at this point. We are focused on finding a way to get an agreement," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told ESPN. Wednesday's session was the second in five days, with the previous negotiations taking place in Dallas on Saturday. Neither side would comment on what was discussed or how fruitful Saturday's talks were. On Sunday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the two-hour meeting with the players' union was "beneficial." "It's always a positive when both parties are talking," Goodell said. "My focus is on the next three or four weeks. I've often said, our agreement expires [at midnight] on March 4. We have to use that period of time to reach an agreement that's fair for the players, fair for the clubs, and allows our great game to grow for our fans." In an interview Sunday with ESPN Radio's "Mike and Mike in the Morning," NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith said it was a "good meeting" but added, "I don't think anyone went into the meeting with the idea that we were going to build Rome in one day." Smith said the sides have been talking continually and it's probably better that the discussions are not publicized. Team owners opted out of the CBA in 2008. Goodell heavily emphasized during his Super Bowl news conference last week the urgency to get a deal done in the coming weeks. Smith has said he expects the owners to lock out the players after the CBA expires. Team owners want a bigger cut of the revenues, which are roughly $9 billion, as well as a rookie wage scale and to increase the regular season by two games to 18, dropping two preseason games. The players think those two extra games will cause a rise in injuries, although that issue appears more negotiable than giving back any percentage of the revenue pool. The league estimates there would be a cut in gross revenues of $120 million without a new agreement by early March; $350 million if there's no CBA by August, before the preseason starts; $1 billion if no new contract is in place until September. And if regular-season games are lost, the NFL figures the revenue losses would amount to about $400 million per week. The NFL has had labor peace since a 1987 players strike that led to three games with replacement players.

Uconn -1.5 to win 1 unit @ 5dimes I dont trust in putting my money on this St. Johns team at all. They did beat duke at home, but the game before they lost to Cinci at home shooting 40% FT's (they had 26 attempts). Too inconsistent for me.

  5. Re: NFL Superbowl Pick: Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Thanks for news Alex' date='well lets hope something's sorted out soon, i don't know that much about dispute but i was thinking it may be a big mistake by owners if they think they have all the cards, I assume some of the big stars could afford to sit back for a few years if nessesary.don't know if owners could starve out average player in a year. i can see a few older players threatening to retire if things get nasty. we shall see.
yep, some of the veterans could afford to sit. But I'm sure half the league can not
  6. Re: NFL Superbowl Pick: Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers ESPN just broke it down pretty easily..owners are asking the players to give them a billion dollars a year. Whats crazy is that the players union has even made commercials about this. Goodell also said if the league is locked out, he will only get paid $1. He is currently making $14 million a year. Something the owners have on there side is rookie salaries. Most 1st round draft picks get paid more then 10 year veterans. Doesnt seem fair

  7. Re: NFL Superbowl Pick: Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers watching some more news on it...we are ****** the labor dispute doesn't make ANY SENSE First of all they want to expand the season to 18 games (makes no sense, wouldn't want it, brings more meaningless games at seasons end IMO) The players have a nice case here. How could the league and that asshole Goodell argue that they are worried about player safety when they want to add 2 more games. All his dumbass fines about illegal hits which are technically legal. Then the owners basically want to cut the salaries of the players. Well **** me sideways with a lunchbox, how can you argue to make season longer then cut there salaries. The owners make millions on these teams. It's safe to say the NFL is one of the only leagues in the world were every team is in the green. I love that Dan Rooney (steelers owner) said that he would rather lose money then expand the schedule. He's the ******* man. Were actually pretty much gonna know in the next 5 weeks or so, if they don't decide in March it may head into the summer There is one thing that I can lock in for you, that the NBA season will be shortened next year due to a strike

  8. Re: NFL Superbowl Pick: Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers

The total was way Over unfortunately but Aaron Rodgers attempted 39 passes which easily surpassed 33.5 for a slight overall loss.
Whats the opinion in USA over NFL season next year' date='all ive read is opinion is a lockout or strike looks likely.maybe even no season if its not sorted soon[/quote'] Most opinions are that it will be at least shortened season..up until yesterday...the meetings apparently rent well. There gonna see that 163 million americans watched the superbowl last night and say ..hey..what the ****...lets just agree on this stuff and get the season going
  9. Re: February NCAAB Picks NCAAB Overall 2010-2011 29W-24L-2P -1.75 unit (54.71%) Lets try to turn this season around...ffs... Feb 5th Illinois +1 to win 1 unit @ 5dimes Kentucky -1.5 to win 1 unit @ 5dimes Kentucky not a great road team, if you can even call them good. But IMO its a good spot, think Florida one of the more overrated teams in the nation.
