  1. Re: ***** US Masters Competition - £150 in CASH Prizes ***** Stenson 16 No3 in the world. Excellent recent form. played well here before. Course should suit and has plenty of experience. Mickelson 22 Thrilling player to watch. Sure he will peak for this and not worried that he has not been at his best yet! Kutcher 33 Excellent record around here. Right age and experience of the usual winner. Plays with a smile on his face and would be a worthy champion. Kaymer 66 People said he could not win around here because he could not draw the ball, which is so important here. Has worked on that, has come through a difficult time but now moving in the right direction. Fair price given his attitude and class. Casey 80 Another back from the doldrums. Now looks settled in home and golf life and playing better than in a long time. Has the perfect game for here ( without checking, I think he played really well on his debut) and could surprise1 worth a fiver in the English markets!

  2. Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th That's why i like this forum. Most are taking on Juve ( against the market)and that seems sensible to me. their European pedigree these last 10 years has been poor, with only one QF in that time, till now. it's right to say Italian defences do NOT come up against the quality strikers that you see in Europe. IMO the Italian league lacks the quality of other European leagues in general, so their domination there, does not impress me that much. Indeed, without Tevez's goals, that even may have been a different story. Contrastingly, Dortmund are here for the third year in a row, are improving after a poor domestic season and Have Marko Reus back fit and scoring goals. I think they are good value to get something out of this game ( keep an eye on Tevez tho) and I would lay Juve. THink it could well be a draw 1-1 or poss 2-2.

  3. Re: Bundesliga > December 19th - 21st Some guy is taking a huge chance on the exchanges right now on the Bayern game tomorrow night. the 1.96 ( for £800 ) in the YES- Bayern to win to NIL is a rare value value occasion IMO. Many regard this side as the best in the world and their form this season does nothing to question that view! They have only conceded a single goal in their first five away games, so the value is there to see. Do not be surprised if this is a draw at half time as that has been the case in 4/5 of Mainz' last home games. Bayern have been scoring plenty of second half goals lately so if this is the case I wont be too worried! I'd have more of that: but, what being Christmas and all......go form an orderly cue. Win or lose it's ( the much discussed ) real value.

  4. Re: Bundesliga > December 16th & 17th Be interesting to see how Wolsberg react to a rather demoralizing draw with Paderborn at the weekend? They absolutely battered them but could even have lost all the points late on. They worked really hard as a team to win this game but were thwarted by a combination of awful refereeing, brilliant goalkeeping, the woodwork and a missed penalty at 1-0. What that has done to them mentally and physically is the question here; and the answer here is....none of us can have any idea IMO. Might be over-thinking this but it would make it a NO-bet for me, esp given the disparity in Dortmund's form this season. I was pretty impressed with Wolfsberg TBH. They have a really good work ethic, everybody knows what they are doing and they are one of those teams that are definitely better than the sum of their parts. So, sorta like Chelsea...only Not quite as good! They'll win plenty more matches this season. Consequently, Paderborn must be thinking Christmas has come early. They were absolutely abject until they equalised with a very dubious penalty. But then played alot better from that point on. I have not seen enough of them to form an opinion but from that, I'd say that the first goal is pretty important in this game against Schalke. I fancy whoever got it, to go on and win the game Again, no idea who that would be...so No-bet again. Sorry! Like Neil's bet tho!

  5. Re: Everton v Queens Park Rangers > Monday December 15th

This is a match that can determine everything for both teams. Therefore it is likely to be cagey with both teams terrified of losing their edge in the Premier League. IMO Under 2.5 goals is a bargain here @ 2.16 on Betfair. Everton are undeniably the better team on paper, but I said the same when they played Hull and wont be making that mistake again in awhile. I think under 2.5 goals is the safer option at a better price.
Agree here. I had tossed with Kevs to Nil bet above but I think the likelihood of Qpr scoring is better than Everton getting three, so I'll plump for unders too! Really cannot see why the overs is being backed right now: given Austin is out and nobody else is scoring really! Barry will be missed but it should be 1-0; 2-0.
  6. Re: Ludogorets Razgrad v Liverpool > Wednesday November 26th

Personally I'd have said the opposite as a draw helps neither side. Its a tough one regarding overs because I think you're right' date=' in that one side will become a lot more cautious should they go one up. But that depends on the time at which they score. Score in the first ten minutes not a lot will change. Both to score is priced @ 1.8 or thereabouts and that looks a decent play as its much lower elsewhere. Just the way Ludogrets have played at home in this competition makes Liverpool poor value in my eyes.[/quote'] Well, i was about to agree with this until I saw the team! Looks very defensive minded and I think I'll swap tack and go with the unders on a small bet!
  7. Re: Arsenal v Anderlecht > Tuesday November 4th Love the photo Toto! Ive not been impressed by Arsenal this season. The photo's about right...Sanchez has carried them to a decent extent! Wiltshire has played well too, when Ive seen him. But all and all, they are still short of top class. They were awful in the away fixture and I certainly will not be backing them here at these odds. especially given that the away side seem to have found some very good youngsters (perhaps as a result in a change of coaching emphasis about 12 years ago?) who really stepped up to the plate in the first game. So i speculate Anderlect/ Draw and Anderlect/Arsenal at small stakes and large odds!

  8. Re: Manchester United v Chelsea > Sunday October 26th Well I layed Man U this morning to keep the draw onside- but really Chelsea should win this a shade comfortably on form over the last few seasons. The Reds have conceded 11 in the last 4 games against opposition that is far from the strongest around the top tiers of Europe- the standard we usually judge them against. It's all very unconvincing to me! Chelsea played some beautiful football in the week, very creative, with Hazard a standout! Team looked like the well oiled machine that Mourinho would want. If there are no fatigue considerations ( an the boss will have watched that carefully) then I think the drift on Chelsea opens up up a great betting opportunity. Take all the sentiment out of this game and get stuck in at 2.8 on the exchanges! My biggest bet so far this season....

  9. Re: Liverpool v Real Madrid > Wednesday October 22nd They say that you make more money by going against the consensus! However in this instance I have to agree with the majority. Liverpool, do not defend well and if there is ever a team that is going to take advantage of that, it is Real. Even with a "weakened" team, i cannot see them having too much trouble here. Think the price is very fair. Agree that overs look really good too!!

  10. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Tuesday October 14th

Any more opinions on the Poland Scotland game? If Poland are half as good as they were in the manic Germany win then 10/11 looks decent value to me but it coukd be an after the Lord Mayors show too.
Personally, I think Poland were a little flattered the other night against a German side with plenty of 1st team missings. Scotland seemed bouyed ATM and know how to defend better these days. I see a draw coming! I have 1-1 @ 7/1 BV.
  11. Re: Nap Of The Day Competition - Sunday July 6th 3.45 MARKET RASEN FOUNDRY SQUARE 5/1 GEN TIMEFORM THINK THAT THIS MARK IS TOO HIGH FOR THE HORSE ( OOPS!Sorry) but in the context of this race, does not look too bad to me. First run with the flat trainer David Evans ( so a good one there!) and indeed the horse won at the beginning of the year for S.Flook on his initial outing for them. So could be a horse that benefits from a change of surroundings. Richard Johnson is in the saddle and no worries there!

  12. Re: Group F - Bosnia-Herzegovina v Iran > Wednesday June 25th

You're right with your reasoning' date=' but I think something important should be kept in mind. A bet on overs here is very much dependent on who scores first. If Bosnia scores first, over 2.5 should come in, but if Iran open the score-sheet, I see the Persians parking the bus as they did twice very successfully. And Bosnia was entirely clueless against the parked bus of Nigerians, who are supposedly worse in defense than Iran.[/quote'] A very good point! For me too, the Bosnians have been very disappointing and I see much more Spark about the Iranians. I have had a small bet for them to qualify, so I do not need to bet here. Also the Bosnians played in the the intense heat @ Cuiaba LTO and will still be feeling it I bet. They just look a negative side and I'll be against them here.... Oh, sod it....I'll back them... I think that given how negative Bosnia have been and that Iran will no whats whats at HT in the Nigeria/Argentina game, it could well be a Draw at HT..... so, Draw/Iran @ 8.5 Skybet and Iran Draw no bet @ 2.65 Laddies......will be the bets.... Pretty favourable here with Iran....always helps the confidence. GL all
  13. Re: Group D - England v Italy > Sunday June 15th

England is a big team who nobody will want to face in Brazil. In Roy Hodgson' date=' they have won of the best tacticians in football today with vast experience throughout the continent. England have big match instincts and never make it easy for the opposition to score many goals. When these sides collided in the last European Championships Italy was left frustrated by a bulldog English performance. I think 0-0 will be a must back for most sophisticated punters looking to take a bite out of the value in the market. A draw will suit both teams and is the likeliest outcome here.[/quote'] Just said as much to my boy......Totally agree the most likely result!
  14. Re: FC Barcelona v Manchester City > Wednesday March 12th

If City can't score at home, how can you expect them to score at the Nou Camp.
IMO This is the most pertinent point of this thread. Man City were totally outplayed in that 1st leg and Barca were very good value for the win. It could have been more really! If you simply go on that, then Home win looks assured. I agree that there is no good reason that City will score here as they just could not create chances in that game. Aguero, good as he is, would have made little difference to that result IMO.
