  1. Think Likhovtseva is worth backing today against Mary Pierce. Although Pierce leads 5-4 on the H2H, Likhovtseva has won the last 3, Pierce hasn't beaten her since 2000. This is also only the second of their meetings where Likhovsteva is ranked higher - Likhovtseva is 18th, Pierce 27th. 5/4 with Bet365 seems a good price to me on Likhovtseva. Have to be quick though, as it starts in 15 minutes.

  2. Re: Tennis. W/C 18.04.05 I reckon Grosjean can beat the handicap (+5) in the final tonight against Roddick in the US claycourt championships. Grosjean beat Roddick the only time they met on clay (although that was back in 2002). In their other 4 meetings over the past two years, Roddick has won all 4, but only won 2 of those by 5 games or more. On any other surface you'd have to favour Roddick, but on clay, I think Grosjean can make enough of a game of it. Grosjean +5 is available at evens on Bet365.

  3. Re: County Cricket I'd agree with you on Warwickshire not losing - I'm yet to be convinced Kent have got enough strength in depth in their bowling - Khan and Patel seem to be doing OK, but not sure about the rest. Not sure Kent have got enough runs on the board just yet either, although I've no idea what the pitch is like, so don't know whether 347 would be a reasonable target to set or not.

  4. Re: County Cricket Hi Swooperman, I'm potentially interested in betting on these matches, but I haven't really followed very closely what's gone on in the pre-season so don't feel I can really comment much at the moment. Once the season's a few weeks old, and I've had a chance to see what's been happening via Cricinfo (not easy keeping tabs on the cricket from Madrid:lol ), I might attempt to contribute my thoughts. Good luck with any picks you've taken for this week (well, apart from Warwickshire, being a Kent man myself:tongue2 ).

  5. Re: Tennis Masters Series : Monte Carlo (11th April - 17th April) Just a thought on the Coria v Ferrer match. Coria was very unhappy yesterday with the quality of the court, and for a while in the first set it seemed to affect his game. Today he's been put on the same court (Court des Princes). Personally I have no idea whether the court was of poor quality or not, but Coria certainly thought it was. Could that act as a kind of leveller between the two players? Ferrer +6 is available at evens, and although Ferrer has lost by more than 6 games in his last three meetings with Coria, I think this time he could get close enough to win on the handicap. Any thoughts?
