  1. Ok, let's try the system i ran for a couple of months from last March. Only changes I have made this time around is that all bets are singles only and all stakes will be 10% of the kitty. This saturday has thrown up 11 qualifying teams (very high ! last time out most qualifiers in one weekend was 4), though Gretna are ruled out because their price of 1/4 is lower than the cut off of 2/5. This means the whole of the 100 pts bank could be lost in week 1 Here goes, all 10 pts singles at best odds sourced from odds comparison ten minutes ago. Blackburn 5/6 Charlton 8/5 Wolves 1/2 Nottm Forest Evs Swansea 7/10 Northampton 5/6 Hereford 4/6 York 7/5 Hibs 8/13 Raith 8/11 :hope

  2. Re: Rounders........... I've only played these once, I'm wary of richer and better players buying in at the final stage for easy pickings against us lesser players. If you could only play in the next round by finishing in the top 3 in a previous level I would certainly think about playing them more, but I think we are just a shoal of herring waiting to be gobbled up by the big sharks out there.

  3. Re: An idea for the next PL Poker Season I'm in agreement with Jezza regarding keeping the stakes at $10 for the next tourney, I'm not at a level where I can think of winning one yet, but I don't mind chucking a fiver away for the 'craic' that goes on, really enjoyed the only one I played in, can't do saturday nights at the moment, being a cabbie it is my main breadwinning night, but am flexible enough to try and play in all others , so hopefully will try and manage a 66% turnout for the next one. Back to stakes, if it were increased to $20 I would be more inclined to pass , 6 or 7 is $150 with house rakes, which is over 25 $5 stt's which is where I am more comfortable playing at the moment and holding my own.

  4. Re: An idea for the next PL Poker Season In light of the news that Betfair are sponsoring the PL freeroll, surely it would be a nice gesture to return the compliment and hold the next PL season there?? As for the bounty hunting, I'm all for it, probably my only chance of getting in the points !!

  5. Just wondering what the general opinion is regarding table manners and the slating ( or as in what you're about to read, ganging up to abuse someone on the table) which goes on. The following happened to me yesterday on Pacific but at least I had the last laugh. Playing a 20 seater $8 NL tourney, start stack 800 chips. First hand I'm in small blind, folded 2nd hand Everyone folds to me, with only sb and bb to go I call with my 10 3 suited Sb calls bb checks on flop I hit 2 more diamonds, possible flush, check, check, check, Turn rag, 1 bets minimum, 1 folds , I call (bear in mind I have gambled 40 out of my remaining 790 chips on this hand so far) River I hit my flush, figuring out my opponent probably has top pair at best, I bet 150 chips, he calls and mucks, my pot. Then the following occurs A - What the **** you calling with 10 3 for? A - ****in Idiot Me - For your information knobjockey, there was only me and the blinds it was worth a small bet , suited cards A - We love players like you, asshole, keep playing every suited hand, Then muppet B joins in B - Yeh, keep playin your Ace high til the river too, hehe, A - See you on the final table, yeh right , hehe B - We can't complain though, A, he's donating his money to the pot, hehe A - Yeh, he could have spent the money on a book on how to play poker, hehe Me - BTW, did I win the pot?? I just shut up then, I was wound up but not on the tilt, I just played very tight after that Though when muppet B went out I said ' One idiot down, one to go' Got to the final table with muppet A , I was chip leader, I let him steal my bb once, then when I was about 4 /1 chip stacked on him, I think he had about 2600 chips left he raised 1200 to steal my bb again, I had A9s and called him all in, a correct read as he folded straight away, but I had damaged him. A couple of hands later he went bust to another player, just scraping his $8 back, lost his rake though. Couldn't resist a 'See ya Champ' . LOVELY!! Went out in the head to head, had KJ ,he had A2 and hit a 2, but I got $40 , a nice profit of $31.20. Any thoughts, similar experiences with obnoxious yanks behaviour? Oh, the 10 3 s , not a hand I would have played if a couple had called b4 me, but for such a low percentage of my chip stack I didn't think it was too wrong, I certainly wouldn't have called with only 5 players left and BB 1000 chips, your thoughts please

  6. Re: Interpoker question cheers for the info Jezza, I'll be opening an account with them this month. I just put $80 into my pacificpoker account and after playing for half an hour they have just added $25 to my account, not sure what for , but I'm sure as hell not goin to query it. I guess it may be another loyalty bonus or somethin. I've got accounts with Pacific, Paradise, Sportingodds, Bet365, Ladbrokes and VC now. Certainly milking the system for the bonuses, i think my favourite is Paradise, if only for the graphics, they dont have as much choice for tables as some of the others. I agree with the previous threads on the VC conspiracy theory regarding the bias towards straights, my very first hand on the site gave me a set of Q's which was busted by a straight on the river !!

  7. I got my compimentary copy of Inside Edge courtesy of Sporting odds at the weekend and came across an ad for Interpoker. Does anyone here play on this site? As it looks on paper they seem to be giving excellent bonuses, matching up to £50 a month deposit each year. Are there any catches here?? Cos to me it seems an awesome way of making £600 a year. Is there a 'raked hands' stipulation and are there easy ways to withdraw? Personally, I'd set up a standing order for the £50 a month and play with that but pull my £600 freebucks out each year. Any thoughts / feedback greatly appreciated. Any other sites come close to matching these bonuses??

  8. Re: funny as fcuk My application to join the 72o club. $5 Stt on Paradise, down to the heads up, ok I know I had 9660 of the 10000 chips but I still had to put the guy all in with his A 10 to finish him off. he even tried a bluff ' give up' fearing my monster hand. I was too slow in remembering how to screen grab , so i got a transcript email of the winning hand: Game #809437295 (Level VI, Game #7) - 100/200 No Limit Texas Hold'em - 2005/04/29-06:48:05.7 (CST) Table "Babar" ($5 tournament) -- Seat 10 is the button Seat 7: bobsyerunkle (9,660.00 in chips) Seat 10: El Steve (340.00 in chips) El Steve: Post Small Blind (100) bobsyerunkle: Post Big Blind (200) Dealt to bobsyerunkle [ 7c ] Dealt to bobsyerunkle [ 2h ] El Steve said, "give up?" bobsyerunkle said, "lol" El Steve: Raise All-in (240) bobsyerunkle: Call (140) *** FLOP *** : [ 2d Qs 3c ] *** TURN *** : [ 2d Qs 3c ] [ 8c ] *** RIVER *** : [ 2d Qs 3c 8c ] [ 5d ] El Steve said, "gg" bobsyerunkle said, "gg" *** SUMMARY *** Pot: 680 | Board: [ 2d Qs 3c 8c 5d ] bobsyerunkle bet 340, collected 680, net +340 (showed hand) [ 7c 2h ] (a pair of twos) El Steve lost 340 (showed hand) [ Th As ] (high card ace) He honestly shit his pants when he saw my hand !!!!

  9. Re: An interesting question If he hasn't seen his cards and gone all in, then I would definitely call him with ANY pair, suited connectors, face card with a rag suited or two cards 10 or above. I don't know about 'percentages' its something i gotta learn. Like last night for example, on the Channel5 poker, a player hit his King on the flop but his oppo had 4 for the flush. I would be very happy to make a call trying to hit the flush from 2 cards, my mathematics ( obviously extremely wrong) tells me I've got 2 chances to hit 1 of 4 suits on the turn and river, a 50% chance reducing to 25% on the river, not so, I haven't taken into account the fact that at least 4 of the 13 are out already , greatly reducing my odds. Yet the pair of kings was about 68% in front according to the tv. Is there anywhere ,ie a book or website which gives out probable percentages for winning these hands. The only time I know for sure is when I've got the nuts - 100%. I think once I learn about percentages it should improve my game a little , making my bets stronger when I know I'm in front.

  10. Re: Punters Lounge VIII Tourney I'm in, just in time, been caressing Stella for past couple hours, not that drink can make me play any worse. I'm ready to be hustled out of my $10 . Gl everybody, and go easy on me, I'm new here

  11. Re: BOBSYERUNKLE....your questions Thanks Jezza, I hope to be entering the next PL tourney ( work permitting), I signed up to paradise yesterday, came second in my first stt, currently playing a $2 mtt there, but I didn't realise it was a satellite for WSOP, so not that arsed about winning it, currently 14th of 30 with 24 biting the dust, but the next satellite for the winning 4 places is 8pm tomorrow EDT, not sure of the time here, probably 1 or 2 in the morning, fook that for a game of soldiers !!
