Re: Steve's Place Lays Yesterday was not a wonderful day but I'm still ahead. I'll update the results shortly. I'm not able to get the selections ready on time today because my heavy cold has been worse the last 24 hours. In fact I even forgot my football team was playing last night. :lol There will probably be some changes done to the system in due course as this is still very much work in progress but there's definately something to be encouraged about.

Thanks for the feedback. :clap The perils of laying higer priced horses are well documented but I'm hoping that my selection criteria will reduce those chances as much as possible. The average priced of all the placed horses in testing was just over 100/30 and the strike rate was 91% so for every 100 races staked I should make about 60 points profit. Fingers crossed the good work continues. :hopeHey mate, dont want to put a downer on things, but the average odd's your laying at are around 26.. you only need one winner to wipe out 25 winners. Its easy to lay horses with odds or 50/1 on paper, but try doing it with real money - i doubt you would actually risk £490 just to win £10. But on the other hand, some people will say it doesnt matter the price aslong as they keep losing, so good luck :ok -

I've been using a system looking at Topspeed's figures during February and the results were impressive so I'm expanding it into March and seeing if it carries on the good work. It's basically laying the lower rated horses to be placed in fields of 10 or more. Please DON't lay these selections as it's very much work in progress. Some of the prices are quite high even for the places so I'll see if it continues to impress. I'll check these near the off but if there's less than 10 runners then no bet. As a rule I don't nowadays lay anything over 4/1 so will bear that in mind with future selections on here. That wouldn't have made much difference with Ten Down as that was below 4/1 anyway. Re: Lay Of The Day Selections ~ April 21st Ayr 5-05 Devil Water - Lay I couldn't believe the Racing Post had this horse at 6/4 favourite this morning. Raced 6 times and two of them were in Hunter Chases and the other four over hurdles. Front Runner only been placed once and was well beaten by 28 lengths at Ayr last time. Will try to make all but should find at least one too good with Caulkin and one or two unexposed types.
