Re: betting on deviant prices Check out mabels-tables. They've got bookies prices and results for all the English and Scottish leagues going back about 6 or 7 seasons. But you've obviously got to pay for them and as there are only prices from about 4 or 5 of the main bookies you're not going to get a huge deviation there. You'll be able to work out how many times a team of avg 4.0 won in that data though and any other stats you care to check out involving prices.

Re: any other software? Hi Lee, 'Fraid I don't know of a piece of software that does this. However the profit / loss and yield are both pretty easy to calculate and the (near enough) best odds on any particular game can be got from the BetBrain website or Tip-Ex. Might be a little difficult to fit this into your current framework maybe but it is this sort of information that is crucial to a punter. You may well find that your network is very good at predicting all the obvious results / bankers but so is everyone. The bookies obviously know this and don't give you good odds on those games.:\ However if you're assigning probabilities to the various results you may well be able to spot some value against the best odds and use that to decide whether it would actually be worth backing with real money. You could then just use these "value" based bets as a basis for calculating your profit and loss against (rather than all of your network's predictions) ....or maybe that's just getting too complicated ...:rolleyes

Re: requirements list From a punters point of view the most important thing is the amount of profit that can be generated from your predictions so information like yield and profit / loss from betting at the best bookies odds available for your selection is crucial. Any chance that your program could incorporate inputting of these odds and then keep a running total of the profit / loss figures ?

Re: Selections for Weekend 22/11 Unfortunately it actually looked like you'd made a mistake on the odds rather than the selection as Spurs were actually 3.4 to draw at SportsTab rather than 2.4 you typed in. Probably should go down as an X which would mean another losing selection ....:rolleyes (but at least you can't be accused of "after-eventing") (note also that 3.4 was the best odds available for this draw and as I guess your intention is always to quote the best odds this again strongly suggested you'd made an error with the odds rather than the result selection)

Re: Euro 2004 Can't see Scotland just defending successfully for the first 30 minutes and Vogts has come out and said that they want to try and get an early goal. Then we'll really see the Dutch crowd get on the back of the Dutch players :)

Re: Norway I think Norway will be looking to score the one goal in the last 10 minutes of the match. That will suit them fine. Seem to remember them doing that against Brazil back in France 98 to get through the group stages. The under bet for this match looks like a very good one. Got a bad feeling about Wales and Scotland unfortunately. Think all the hype regarding the fine 1st leg performances is pointing to the "glorious failure" scenario. Can see something like 1 - 1 Wales v Russia, Russia scoring a late equaliser and 2 - 0 for Holland again the Dutch scoring the second one late. Can't give any pointers on Croatia-Slovenia - very difficult one to call that. Think Turkey will beat Latvia comfortably.

Re: more Russia bets 1 - 0 Scotland final result :eek Even better than I thought. Where's highlander ? I'm off to have those half-full whisky glasses he was talking about. :rollin Wales drawing 0 - 0 at the moment. All going well :lol

Re: Birds Fitbaw It's 2 - 0 to England now. If you go to the William Hill website they've got live betting on the game and you can keep track of the score there.

Re: Russia v Wales Russia for me to I think. They'll certainly win the 1st game - just a question of by how much. If Wales can score then I reckon they'll still have a chance of overturning say something like a 3 - 1 loss back in Cardiff. Robert Earnshaw will be replacing Bellamy and he's very capable of nicking a goal in any game. A 1 - 2 defeat or better from Wales and I think they've got very good chances of progressing.

Re: Euro 2004 play-offs OK I'm going to put my neck on the block and predict Scotland to go through over the two legs. I think the first match at Hampden will be a draw 0 - 0. The dutch will be quite happy with this and Scotland won't be too upset either. I think Berti Vogts will be concentrating on Scotland not to lose at Hampden. This will then suit their (and Vogts) "pickpocket" mentality to nick a result over in Holland either 1 - 0 or even on penalties. Having got a result in Scotland the dutch will be thinking the job is done in the return match and will probably be overconfident .... Might sound far-fetched but psychologically it's a strong approach for Scotland.

Re: Consistently good home teams - the reunion... Hi Da Hannahah, Where did you place your multi with handicapped matches included ? Tried Centrebet and a few other places but I couldn't find a bookie that would take such a bet. Thanks.

Centrebet ? Thanks for the reply. I actually checked Centrebet but missed that Under / Over on the Man C - Tott match was available but described as "Total Goal Score" ! :rolleyes

Re: Super 7-11 Hi Da Hannanah, I like your 7-11 bet a lot and usually like to have a punt on it. Having a problem with your selections above though. It's proved impossible for me to find a bookie that will take the 11-fold accumulator you've specified. The problem comes with combining the lower league Danish match (B1909) with the over on the Manc-Spurs game. Not many bookies will offer this option and the 2 that I've found that do (MultiBet and NordicBet) both restrict you to a max of 10-folds. Where did you place your 11-fold accum ? Has anyone else found a site that takes it ? Is it an impossible bet to place ? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Re: betting on deviant prices You'll need a spreadsheet program like Excel. All the data is supplied in .csv format (comma separated files). Might be some other formats available too. Just stick mabels-tables in google and you'll soon find the site and see what's there.:)
