  2. Re: VIP Poker League Season 2

Just having a quick look at the final results on VIP to try see who might be in line for the PL seats. The Inter result is not up yet, but based on the other 3 I believe it is currently Dave488 (111pts on bwin), AvonGirl (107 pts on PP) and Chapman (91 pts on Cake). However slapdash is in the mix in the Inter league and I think also finishes on 91 pts. If any of us get a Regular Player seat then Adetrick (86pts bwin), VoiceofJoe (76pts bwin) and Vic3485 (54pts bwin) look next in line. (See my earlier post about points structure favouring bwin ;)) Might be worth hanging on if you can MD, before sorting out your seats.
:loon Didn't expect that to be the case, couple of quick questions, is this confirmed? If I don't win a seat in the cake game next week and myself and Slapdash are tied for the last PL one who will get it? :unsure I didn't think I'd done enough so the sooner I can get myself free for the Saturday the better. :ok I'd get to Luton on the train and need to decide weather to get hotel/BnB although I'll have things to crack on with on the Sunday so may catch the first train back a couple hours after the game instead of spending £50 or whatever for the couple of hours kip I can get on the train I dunno yet. :unsure
  3. Re: Joker Poker from Bwin - whatever next?

Sorry, going way off topic now, but reading Bwin's tournament rules, I also noticed: Can anybody translate? :lol
At a pure guess, I think its trying to say you shouldn't get moved into the big blind 12 times in a row as can happen on other sites and that when moved, it will be to a similar position relevant to the blinds on your previous table. :unsure I might try one or two of these at some stage for funzies but that will probably be all. :ok
  4. I Know how GaF like's working out new formats, good luck with this one! :lol

Not sure what forum this belongs in, seems a bit crazy - how long before nobody is playing a standard game of poker? :tongue2 https://poker.bwin.com/public.aspx?aid=35042
  5. Re: Season Finale (Sold Out & Off and Running)-FINISHED Forgot about this, hope you feeling better Billy, PM me when you are about and we can do something on Betfair if that's the best option for you. :ok Thanks for the time and effort you put in this and hope you change your mind later on and do something else in the staking forum. :clap

  6. Re: Daily SCHEDULED MTT Winnings April 2010 paul2475 - some nice results going on since you joined fella, welcome to PL. :clap :ok Also nice going Moddi, just an idea that might be helpful to Rivrd/Guppie/AG if you post a number of scores at once to stick a note of total $/cash's at the top. :clap :ok 3 ITM/$70.57 total f_cbr7awm_1cd1956.jpg f_cbr7axm_d05eb4e.jpg Congratulations ChapmanPL, Out of 16 players in Tournament 8238671 (VIP Poker League Buy-In), you came in 3rd and have won $6.40. You've also been awarded 15.4 FPP for participating in the tournament. Best wishes, The Cake Poker Team :ok

  7. Re: VIP Poker League Season 2 I failed miserably on the two sites I played despite a late surge of sorts on Cake I didnt really turn up until week 8, also just looked at the the paddy league and realised how unorganised I am - only played 7 games and sat out atleast two of them after I reg'd and forgot (on purpose once to watch footy). :lol Big welldone to all who made it through and good luck in Luton. :clap I very much doubt I done enough for one of the PL seats but AG should be a shoe in for the first - like being eliminated from the champions league on away goals or relegated on goal difference! :spank :lol Look forward to next season. :ok

  8. Re: VIP Poker League Season 2

Good luck to everyone for the final week - although I think most if not all of you have got a seat pretty much guaranteed already? James
I've not yet. :lol I think the league table update for last nights cake game is wrong mate, as I only got 7 points but finished 3rd? :unsure (By the way James, in reply to your email I'd like to think you are right about Wembley and I look forward to revenge for the league cup the other year! :@ :lol)
  9. Re: Snooker: World Championships

Starts in a few weeks, who's peoples picks? Ive backed Shaun Murphy at 9/1.
You can get 14/1 on Murphy at Betfair, quite a difference. ;) Here is the 1st Round draw with the Championship running from 17th April - 3rd May, if anyone knows the bracket for the draw it would be helpful. :ok
John Higgins v Barry Hawkins Mark King v Steve Davis Neil Robertson v Fergal O'Brien Marco Fu v Martin Gould Ali Carter v Jamie Cope Joe Perry v Michael Holt Ding Junhui v Stuart Pettman Shaun Murphy v Gerrard Greene Stephen Maguire v Stephen Lee Peter Ebdon v Graeme Dott Mark Allen v Tom Ford Ryan Day v Mark Davis Mark Selby v Ken Doherty Stephen Hendry v Anda Zhang Mark Williams v Marcus Campbell Ronnie O'Sullivan v Liang Wenbo
I love the World Championships and will have more to say closer to the time but as usual, much will depend on which Ronnie turns up to play this year because if he can stay motivated and find the form we all know he's capable of it's difficult to look past him - but if the "I don't care so much" Ronnie turns up he could be sent on his bike in the 1st round because Liang Wenbo has the potential to make it uncomfortable, not the best draw for Ronnie in R1. John Higgins, he just know's how to prepare for the two week's and is most likely to stay consistent throughout because his game is made for the long session's required, never easy to beat. My early pick outside of Ronnie is Mark Selby, more experienced and getting better and better, will be full of confidence still after that epic Masters final back in January and well worth an early punt at 9/1 you can get on Betfair. :hope
  10. Re: tricky MTT spot in the small blind holding JJ. Thanks everyone for the excellent response so far. :clap I'm happy I did what most suggested after the way I played the hand up to this point, I think I have to jam the turn and if he has QX, 66 or the very unlikey 33 then so be it - he insta called and showed the last hand I want to see. :\

    ** Dealing Turn ** [ 3d ] Chapsmick82 goes all-in Chapsmick82 bets [3,053] brandonlea calls [3,053] ** Showdown ** Chapsmick82 shows [ Jh, Js ] brandonlea shows [ Qs, Jd ] ** Dealing River ** [ 8s ] ** Hand Conclusion ** brandonlea wins 11,406 from main pot with three of a kind, Queens ************ Game 669540991 ends ************
I really hated the suggestion of limping to set mine here because I felt I'd be wasting what I'm sure is the best hand at that point, after the end result it's hard to argue I should totally rule it out as an option because I'll easliy get away from it and move on if the BB checks. If I stick it all in pre as Dave suggested (this was my first instinct) I'd like to think (tho you never know :lol) that Mr QJo is laying it down, I take the pot and move on. I think probably the most important point made is the lack of info I have on anyone at the table having just been moved, normally if I'm moved to a new table I'll lay low at first to get an idea of the table dynamics and how eveyone is playing. The importance of this can never be understated as it will obviously determine the way you play and what you potentially can/can't get away with against each individual, I noticed Nade's thread about the best way to play when deep in a MTT and pretty much EVERYTHING depends on adapting to the stack size and playing style of each person at the table. I'm not sure any of the suggested play's ITT are 100% right or wrong, on another day I will at best double through and give myself some room to play and go deep. After reading all the response here, the fact I'd just got on the table, that I'm not in desperate trouble at this point in the game and I had little idea of where I was after being called that I didn't need to get as tricky as I did but at that moment I decided I wanted to take the initiative and get aggro with the JJ after all the limping I perceived as weakness. It didnt work out this time but I'm not as annoyed at myself as I was previously so...:cheers
  11. Re: tricky MTT spot in the small blind holding JJ. Ok I figure it's probably best to add the next part because it's obvious that I need to raise here as JJ is more than likely to be the best hand at this point but how much? I considered shoving it all in with a good chance everyone would fold and be happy picking up a decent pot. Instead I decided a decent size raise could have the same effect and if I do get a call and hit a good flop I could double through and have a very playable stack after the break but I'm not happy at being OOP..

    Chapsmick82 raises to [1,050] darkhorse22 folds Petacchi folds milds2 folds brandonlea calls [850] turbid folds ** Dealing Flop ** [ Qc, Qd, 6h ]
We get one call and a decent flop for the hand, I think? The pot is around 3k now and OOP I c/b..
    Chapsmick82 bets [1,200] brandonlea calls [1,200] ** Dealing Turn ** [ 3d ]
This is where I'm most usure of what to do and just need opinion/advice on how I've played the hand so far.. Pre flop raise? Do I have to C/B 100% of the time here? C/B size? What range to you have the villian on once he calls the C/B and what is he putting me on? The turn is harmless unless he has 33 but are you limp/calling pre-flop and on the flop here with 33? What do you do next? Edit: Thanks for the response Anita/HH, I have to go out but will reply later, I have similar thoughts to HH it seems. :)
  12. Any thoughts welcome on what you might do in this particular spot I found myself in playing the $55+$5/12k gtd MTT on Betfair the other night. It's the last hand before the first break, 100 players or so remain (170 odd started) with 18 paid and I sit with a stack around average. I have zero info on the table as I'd just been moved a couple of hands previous.

I'd like to do this street by street (I'll post the next part later) because it was a spot I admit to being a bit uncomfortable with and I don't want the result to affect the thought process - we're OOP holding JJ in a multi limped pot, now what?
