Re: Vegas recomendations
It's not a large IT conference you're attending is it? CA?I'm heading over for a week early next month, haven't been over for four years so a bit out of touch. I'm looking for recomendations on good places to play and stay. Work is footing the bill, but I don't want to take the piss with costs, esp in a recession, you gotta be a bit responsible. Work venue is towards the top end of the strip, but I guess I could monorail. Have stayed at Luxor and Flamingo before, both ok but would prefer somewhere new. Looking for place with decent lowish stakes cash tables ($2 / $ 5 blinds ??) or some SnG action. Thanks -

I'm only going to play once a week and then only if i'm in the mood so i can fully concentrate 2. try and respect small wins. they all add up. 3. not play 3/6 HU against a good reg because i'm drunk and not even try to play well:$ 4. try and play live more - I play much better and find it alot more fun. Get very bored playing online these days.

Re: Punterslounge Master of Poker 2009 in association with Paradise Poker looks fantastic but i get married on 14th Nov and then on honeymoon until December so realistically would struggle to compete. Annoying as I would have given the cash a real go:wall

I would say on the whole I can win money at .50/1 and 1/2. However, no matter how much i win i always keep playing until i lose the lot. How can I make myself stop when up a certain amount:unsure For example this week I turned £150 into about £520 and then lost it all by playing just one more hand, then just one more etc Do i need to set limits? Do i need to do a challenge to motivate myself to stop:unsure Anybody else suffer from this? I guess it's just greed:$

Re: stupid game at times
I needed a rant mate:wall:wall Still going to have a week off:ok2days ago i got QQ 5 times lost them all: two $100 stacks vs AA + KK, $40 vs K5, then twice vs shortstackers for $30 + $20 vs TT + KK then also lost with KK v QQ for another $100 and another $100 with straight vs FH. Only ended $150 down for the day. So you get used to it pretty quickly when it becomes standard part of the daily grind :dude -
last 6 times i have had KK someone has had AA and stacked me. then I get AA and obvioulsy there AK makes a straight. tempted to just have a couple of weeks off:wall:wall:wall

Re: GaF Pokerstars Video - 4 tabling NL10
I believe you could make a good profit at higher stakes. You appear to be a great student (always trying to learn) and very disciplined. However, I don't know your financial situation so it's not for me to say. However, if you could have a shot at playing higher and losing it all wouldn't effect how you live (kids, wife etc) then why not go for it:unsure Nothing ventured, nothing gained:okNot really. Looking through my poker databases (not necessarily comprehensive) - On Boss, I can see I played 274 hands at 50c/$1 NL for a $139 profit! This has been various sessions between november 2007 and July this year. I've played 3601 hands at €0.25/€0.50 for a profit of €530.41!! On Microgaming I played 1627 hands at €0.25/€0.50 for a profit of €348.94. Cant find anything else. Lol - why arent I playing at those levels (and higher) with results like that? -
Re: Cash Game Challenge 4 Life
I'm not sure I agree. I think you can put people to the test more in cash. In a tournament with rising blinds TPTK hands must be played hard. In cash games TPTK can lead to ruin:D So i feel in many cases in a tournament you have to be prepared to go broke with AK on a K94 board. If someone has a set or a funky 2 pair there isn't much you can do once the blinds are big.I really don't agree. The fact that tournament life is always on the line makes for such an interesting form of the game. You cannot put someone under pressure in cash like you can in a tournament - not if they're correctly rolled. All about opinions though. :ok -
Re: Cash Game Challenge 4 Life
I'm not saying they are worse (or better) - but to be recognised as one of the best players (on PL' date=' or anywhere) you need to be a high profile tournament player - Cash Game players are just a little dull and boring and as such aren't remembered when 'thought' of as being Good Players[/quote'] cash game players dull? far from it, it's a far better game with alot more skill required. -

Re: Heads Up Ethical Question (Part Brag Obv)
alot depends on your reasons for playing in the 1st place. If it is solely to make money then obviously a) is the right thing. For me it's more of a hobby that sometimes gives me a bit of extra spending money.Table selection is key. Therefore you found the perfect tables. Option A all the way - No room for morals in poker ;) -
Re: Heads Up Ethical Question (Part Brag Obv) Option B for me but only after I had made a few quid:ok
