  1. Hamilton 7/5 bet Fred to beat Dundee. Dundee have sold their best 2 players and released playmaker Gary harkins in august after a breach of discipline and are now paying for that big time. I was there on wednesday when we lost to partick and they look like a team doomed to relegation even at this early stage ( 5/4 to finish in bottom 2 , and 3/1 to finish bottom skybet worth a punt ) we have no goal threat and a defence that will almost always concede they look shot of confidence already and Hamilton are a bogey team / ground to us .  Manager Hartley seems to run out of ideas and this should be an easy win for a Hamilton side just off the back of a home win against Aberdeen. Worth a punt for relegation as well , worst Dundee team in many a year , and I've seen some bad ones over the last 40 years !

  2. Re: Scottish Football > Saturday August 9th Newly promoted dundee to beat killie is my bet of the weekend @ 6/4 hills. Dundee have made 12 new signings all of which have been impressive in close season friendlies wins against Manchester city hearts and morecambe . We looked good against Peterhead last week and although they are a lower league side it is that type of game we have struggled with in the past . We never looked like losing this game and manager Paul Hartley has said that the team will get better the more they play with each other , a very impressive midfield a solid looking defence and a quality strike force leads me to think we can finish top 6 this year and I think the bookies have underestimated us and fancy we will be over priced for games at the start if the season starting with this one , I don't think 6/4 will be available by Saturday

  3. Re: Scottish Football > March 29th & 30th

the top half will compete against each other for the title... well if the league was more competitive. the only thing they will fight for is 2nd' date=' and a europa league place. so it will be between the teams fighting for 2nd and whether or not they want it. the bottom half play each other for relegation spot. but as hearts are almost certainly down, this makes no difference. i guess you have to decide if the teams want to finish in top half to fight for europa.[/quote'] The top six fixture get announced next week there will be 5 games in both the top 6 and bottom 6 the top 6 are only playing for europa league spots which I think are down to 3rd place , the bottom six will play to avoid relegation , hearts are almost certainly down but there is a play off with the 2nd bottomof the premiership and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th in the championship league below
  4. Re: Scottish Football > September 28th & 30th Berwick at 6/5 hills although the value has gone ( I got 13/8 on Thursday ) Berwick should beat east Stirling who I think are in a false position at the top of the league Berwick are unbeaten in their last 3 and previously to that they only list 2 0 to rangers in the cup est Stirling were thumped 4-1 last time out and confidence may be thin

  5. Re: Scottish Football > September 28th & 30th Dundee at 21/20 hills . The layers have overreacted to mortons win over Celtic and to find dundee ( pre season title favourites ) at odds against is good news . We played better than we have done all season against Inverness in midweek and were unlucky not to win or at least force extra time so maybe things are starting to click in place at last also we can't afford to fall any further behind Hamilton so the players should be up for this , Morton also needed extra time to beat Celtic so might tire in this and find the pace of the game too much prior to the Celtic game they only managed a draw away against a poor livi side and previously lost their last away game against lowly Dumbarton if dundee play as well as they did in midweek we should do the business at a value price

  6. Re: Scotland > Clydesdale Bank Premier League & Third Division > 24 December

I'm expecting it to be busy in here since there's no English football this Saturday. From the look of things, the bookies haven't given us many Christmas presents; it's a very tight card. Thought I'd share some early thoughts... Game of the weekend is undoubtedly Hearts v Motherwell. The visitors' away form is intimidating (22pts from a potential 27) and for sheer value, to get them on a plus looks to the bet of the card. Hearts found some form on the park last week, but it's been another topsy-turvy week off-field at Tynecastle. Dundee Utd-Hibs is another that catches the eye. Utd might be backed heavily, but with Pat Fenlon still looking for his first points as Hibs manager, I want to give them a wide berth. From back to middle, they've looked focused in the last couple of games. Utd's home form has been patchy and it wouldn't surprise me to see Hibs take a point. Aberdeen look a fair shout in Inverness with Caley having struggled at home this season. Confidence will be high in the Dons' ranks and if they can keep as solid as they have been in the last two games, they'll definitely create chances against a shaky Caley backline. St Johnstone are big favourites at Dunfermline, who are still searching for their first home win. Saints are off the back of three home defeats, but they'll be happy to sit in at East End Park and look for opportunities on the break. The Pars are leakier than a very leaky thing, but are St Johnstone backable on the road without draw cover? Not so sure. As for the Old Firm, well they'll both be desperate to give nothing away ahead of next Wednesday's Celtic Park face-off. Rangers have been running on empty the last few weeks, scraping by, but you could argue they've been doing that for four years now. Away days suit their counter-attacking approach better, with the Ibrox crowd not allowing them to do that at home. I'd expect St Mirren to have a lot of the ball, create a few chances, but probably get picked off on the break. As for Celtic, you'd expect them to beat Killie at Parkhead, but Kenny Shiels has dealt well with the Old Firm this season and for the first time in the 15 months since he signed I'd argue Daniel Majstorovic's absence is a blow. They haven't exactly been banging them in, so the handicap is off-limits. So, still weighing things up. Would be good to hear some other thoughts.
Think Motherwell to beat Hearts is a good bet mainly due to a couple of things 1 the on going turmoil at tynecastle 2 the continued good form of Motherwell also well are unbeaten in the last 4 visits here disagree with you on the dons they have been woefull the last 2 games where as calley have been unlucky and have played better than results suggest also think utd are a far better team than hibs so for me the bet for saturday is well calley utd treble bet placed with local independant bookie 11/4 6/4 4/5
  7. Re: Scotland: Divisions 1, 2 & 3 Nov 5

Dundee to beat Raith 13/10 hills Dundee have signed striker Calum Elliot on loan to help ease our goal scoring problems. We have been playing well in recent weeks but our strikers have been poor.Last week keeper Douglas was sent off but we still created more of the chances and looked the better team despite having 10 men.Going to have a little on us winning half time full time @ 9/4 hills as well as we seem to be starting games at a fast pace and trying to get teams on the back foot from the off
for the record elliot went off injured after a minute and we also lost our centre half captain in the first half as well

  9. Re: Scotland > Weekend > Divs 1-3 > 24 September Like the look of Stranraer here depending on team news. Stranraer in good form being undefeated in last 4 including victory against leaders Annan and have a decent home record and also a good record against Elgin. Elgins last 5 games have provided 3 wins but they were against 3 teams in the bottom 4 in the league. They also lost their last away game against Montrose who are currentky 3rd bottom. Throw in a hell of a long journey for the away side then barring any negative team news its Stranraer for me at around 21/20 hills

  10. Re: England > Weekend > Npower Football League Two > 3 September

Swindon - Rotherham 3:2 FT' date=' red cards on both sides, entertaining match and as I said hosts will start to collect points sooner or later and this was so obvious bet with bookie trap on Rotherham....[/quote'] Big ref decision changed the match imo failure to award stonewall pen to rotherham when 2 1 up then 1 min later sends guy off ( deserved ) and they equalise having said that I did think swindon were the better team for most of the game and rotherham needed the 3 rd goal to kill them off
  11. Re: England > Weekend > Npower Football League Two > 3 September Rotherham 21/10 hills is the bet for me this weekend. Rotherham are unbeaten in 5 league games and had a very good result against previously unbeaten Gillingham last week, while the Robins have only won once and that was on the opening day against Crewe who themselves have only won once so far against bottom club Plymouth. Paulo Di Canio is a train crash waiting to happen IMHO and we have perhaps seen our first instance of thing not being quite right in the dressing room with the bust up in the tunnel in mid week.

  12. Re: Golf: 2010 Open Championship Ross Fisher for me . Should have won last year but for a disaster on 1 hole when he should have took a drop instead of trying to play an unplayable shot also no distractions as he had last year and also appears to be coming into form 50/1 hills best price(10 pts ew backed with an independant bookie at 55/1 )
