  1. Re: Tennis - The US Open 2011 Treble: Isner - Almagro - Kuznetsova - 2.34 Not a very high odds treble, but one I think is pretty solid. Nothing flashy about it, but after Dodig yesterday I just want a bet to get past the line. Isner has been in fine form leading upto the tournament, winning the week before against good players and also beating his opponent today Marcos Baghdatis. Baghdatis is one of those players who is frustrating to back and could turn up in any form, I think he will make a fight of it but hopefully lose in 4 or maybe even a nail biting 5. Almagro is ranked just inside the top 10 and I think this is merited on his great clay court play, but also that fact he is also handy on other surfaces. I think that he will be able to take a tired Benneteau who, although has form, played alot of matches at Winston-Salem and could be burnt out. Will be an interesting match but Almagro easily has the game to see off Benneteau straight sets after a tight first. And then to Kuznetsova who I mainly picked on the fact she is playing a British player. Baltacha is serial underachiever and always promises so much and delivers so little. I think once she comes up against a player who is ranked higher then her or is better she folds. Pretty shit reasoning I know, but I just cant see her progressing through this match against a former top 10 player who can play such good tennis. Other bets I was interested in where Murray (-9.5) @2.00 and Hercog (+3.5) @2.10. GL all.

  2. Re: Tennis 22-28 August Schuettler to beat Gabashvili @ 1.83 Paddy Power. Im liking the look of Schettler in this tournament and he has only dropped one set which was a close 1st set in his semi final vs Jamie Baker. On the other hand Gabashvili seems to be making heavy work of it, with a few 3 setters. I think in a match rated '50/50' by the bookmaker the German can win. GL.

  3. Re: ATP Barcelona April 20-26 Really like the price for Fabio Fognini against Gimeno-Traver @ 1.44 with Ladbrokes and various other firms. The price is a little short, so I am also gonna put a bit on Fognini to take the first set @ 1.62 with William Hill. Fognini is coming out of the Monte Carlo Masters having played very well in the 5 games he played their. Most notably beating Marin Cilic comfortably and progressing against 3 other decent players. He also kept with Murray for alot of the match he played against him and i think that he is more than tricky for alot of people when he is on clay. Head to Head 2-0 in favour of Fognini, both on Clay and one of them coming this year (6-3 6-2)

  4. Re: Wimbledon 23rd June - 6th July Im slightly confused by the Chris Eaton price tomorrow against Boris Pashanski. Its hard enough trying to get the 2nd Brit (Bogdanovic) furthur than the 1st round, so im not to confident of that chances of the 10th best British man doing well. Added with the fact he is young and inexpierienced I think his debut at Wimbledon may end in defeat at the hands of the Serbian who I think should be a much better player than him, despite a string of bad recent results. It alot to ask for him to win, but he seems to be favourite and that is the only thing really putting me off backing his opponent. But I'm still going for it. Pashanski @ 2.62 Other leans are Tanasugarn @ 1.61 who has had a good run up to the Championships by winning the grass court event in Holland. She came through 7 matches beating some good grass court players, the only thing which I think maybe a disadvantage is that she did play so much tennis last week and that she may be a little fatigued. Young @ 1.98 - I think Donald Young can convert his good junior performance last year when he lifted the title to a good run here maybe to the 2nd or 3rd round. He is more than capable of beating Jesse Levine who has been playing many lower ranked matches and may struggle with a step up against Young who has been playing against bigger and better players which can only be a positive thing. Almagro @ 1.40 looks good as well even though he looks best suited to Clay, I think his good backhand and serve will serve him well against another Clay court specialist Marcel Granollers. Also I think he is approaching the top 10 and will want to sustain this by picking up a few good wins on different surfaces so he can really be seen as a threat to the higher ranked players.

  5. Re: Tennis 7th-12th Jan: Auckland/Hobart/Sydney Anyway here I go with a few singles... Ivo Minar vs Alun Jones @ 1.50 Minar seems to be hitting some good form and defeated the giant serving Isner in the qualifiers. I have seen Alun Jones play well against a weak and injured Nadal, but I think that Minar will have too much for him and a price of 1.50 is reasonable. Jo Wilfreid Tsonga vs Andreas Seppi @ 1.42 Have been very impressed with Tsonga recently and cannot wait for him to play on the grass courts because he done so well last year on them. He plays a good serve and volley game and is very powerful. As for Seppi he seems to play better on clay and I don't think he can beat Tsonga, who is fresh from beating Hewitt.

  6. Re: Tennis 7th-12th Jan: Auckland/Hobart/Sydney

good luck if you do play but I think in general accumulators are not the way to go and especially in the week before a slam with questionable motivation among the top players.
True, but in my eyes it was a given (Gasquet over Andreev), rather pissed at Querry being the player who always defeats me one way or another. Bet against him he plays superb, bet with him and he loses! I should have stuck to singles, but at the moment I am struggling to find any real value.
  7. Re: Tennis 7th-12th Jan: Auckland/Hobart/Sydney

No prices are jumping out at me' date=' but I would take a Gasquet x Chela x Querry x Ferrer fourfold at 2.17[/quote'] Because Gasquet is playing againsta poor Andreev who just couldn't seem to find any rhytm in his last match. Ferrer and Chela are playing against lowly ranked big outsiders and and just bumping up the price of the bet and Querry is steadily improving and can take out a non-motivated Mayer.
  8. Re: Tennis Favourites

    Cilic v Haase - Cilic @ 1.72 Stake 100 :ok Malisse v Youzhny Malisse @ 1.85 Stake 100 :$ García López v Nadal Nadal @ 1.04 Stake 100 :ok Moya v Serra Moya @ 1.37 Stake 100 :ok Becker v Llodra Becker @ 1.98 DNB :clap Becker lost Hewitt v Tsonga Hewitt @ 1.33 DNB :clap Hewitt lost Mathieu v Sirianni Mathieu @ 1.22 Stake 100 :$ Nieminen v Spadea Niemienen @ 1.40 Stake 100 :ok Davydenko v Murray Murray @ 1.70 DNB :sad Murray won Ljubicic v Wawrinka Ljubicic @ 1.74 DNB :clapWawrinka won
Most of the DNB were for good reasons, 3 of the 4 lost which was the good news, but more lost also, so turned out badly anyway. Early morning, but I think it works out like this Start Bank 1000 Current Bank 953 No more probably until Monday. Should start to get better.
  9. Re: Tennis 31st - 6th I am willing to take Wawrinka over Ljubicic @ 2.20, havent seen Wawa play this tournament, but Ljubicic looked inconsistent and fragile everytime he got into a rally in the middle part of his Q/F match. If Wawrinka can put in some good returns and make Ljubicic play 1 extra shot, then he should be able to defeat him, by allowing him to make his own mistakes. I think both Davydenko and Ljubicic are guys who's confidence can easily be broken, but saying that, Davydenko has more than a chance at odds of 2.55, and Murray should never be taken at such short odds IMO, so its a DNB for me. I saw Cilic at better odds last night, too short now. I've heard Malisse is on fire also, so his odds look to be good value.

  10. Re: Tennis Favourites Cilic v Haase - Cilic @ 1.72 Stake 100 Malisse v Youzhny Malisse @ 1.85 Stake 100 García López v Nadal Nadal @ 1.04 Stake 100 Moya v Serra Moya @ 1.37 Stake 100 Becker v Llodra Becker @ 1.98 DNB Hewitt v Tsonga Hewitt @ 1.33 DNB Mathieu v Sirianni Mathieu @ 1.22 Stake 100 Nieminen v Spadea Niemienen @ 1.40 Stake 100 Davydenko v Murray Murray @ 1.70 DNB Ljubicic v Wawrinka Ljubicic @ 1.74 DNB All the mens matches from tomorrow, and I've outlined the risky ones as DNB. Hopefully this will start off a lot better then the last attempt! :hope Seems we can afford 2 around losses and still be at around break even.

  11. Re: Tennis Favourites So that would be backing all the favourites? Which still looks like you would come out ontop... hmmm, very interesting. Looks very decent, and ive seen youve looked at biggers stakes which is an option to boost winnings over a shorter period of time. As it is a paper trial, will revert to a 1000 Bank and 100 bets for now, and surley using a bit of tennis knowledge a few of losses can be avoided as DNB's. Thanks for the stats MetallicIan, hopefully I can tighten up the selections and make this thread profitable. Sooooo..... New plan, just the staking Bank of 1000 Bets 100 each

  12. Re: Tennis Favourites 1. L.Hewitt vs J.Acasuso @ 1.22 + 2.20 2. V.Zvonareva vs M.Erakovic @ 1.16 - 10.00 3. L.Davenport vs S.Errani @ 1.10 +1.00 4. K.Srebotnik vs A.Rezai @ 1.44 -10.00 5. R.Nadal vs R.Ram @ 1.04 ...... 6. M.Fish vs P.Luczak @ 1.40 +4.00 Not the best start :lol, maybe I'll have to be a bit more patientien and limit my picks. Start Bank - 200 Current Bank - 177.20

  13. Re: Tennis Favourites 1. L.Hewitt vs J.Acasuso @ 1.22 2. V.Zvonareva vs M.Erakovic @ 1.16 3. L.Davenport vs S.Errani @ 1.10 4. K.Srebotnik vs A.Rezai @ 1.44 5. R.Nadal vs R.Ram @ 1.04 6. M.Fish vs P.Luczak @ 1.40

  14. Starting Bank: 200 Bets: 10 (...for now) There doesn't seem to be much value in just backing favourites in single bets, but there might be if its sustained for a longer period of time. I always feel safer backing really poor odds in Tennis as there is only 2 outcomes, and if you don't win then you have made a really poor decision or a really unlucky decision. I will try and run this for a little while and see how far it will go with sucess and profitability, if I can get a nice run going, who knows what might be achieved! :ok

  15. Re: Tennis 31st - 6th For the next few matches, few outsiders :hope... Gulbis vs Tsonga Pick: Gulbis @ 2.38 I can see this being a very tight match myself, but I'm sure that Gulbis will be able to pull through. He is one of my tournament picks and I am putting full faith in his early season fitness and form to see off Tsonga. Tsonga will play a mainly serve and volley match, but I feel that with both being strong servers, there will be only a few points in it, ones which the youngsters can win. Dancevic vs Nieminen Pick: Dancevic @ 2.50 Dancevic is a very talented player and started to show what he can do last year when he started taking down some of the bigger names in the US hard court season. As for Nieminen his consistency to perform at a high level is questionable and I think he could turn up as the amazing tennis player he is or the lame tennis player he sometimes can be. The clever money will be on a fighting Dancevic. Zverev vs Spadea Pick: Spadea @ 2.00 I think this is another tight match to call, but Spadea shouldn't be the outsider so should be backed after a good win against Sebastian Grosjean. I havent really seen much of Zverev, so I cannot comment on how he will play or how good of a player he is, so I am just trusting that Spadea will perform as everyone knows he can with his prolific serving. Lee vs Calleri Pick: Lee @ 2.10 Mr Consistent vs Mr Inconsistent, H.T Lee is often underestimated, but I think he is a tidy player who is always in with a chance of winning a match whether its against the world number 1 or the world number 101. To make Calleri the favourite after a win against the choking Robredo is stupid and I am tipping Lee for the win here as he is more than capable, and likely, to take it.

  16. Re: Tennis 31st - 6th

Not very much value in the matches tbh.
    Calleri v Robredo
This is a tricky match for Robredo to start the year, but I think he will cope as he is the more consistent of the two players. Calleri is very inconsistent on the other hand, and youi never know what to expect from him - e.g US Open 2007, sublime 4 set win over Hewitt, then a tame straight sets loss against Monaco. I think that Robredo (Robredo - Best priced 1.50 @ Skybet) can take care of Calleri here. :sad Cilic v Troicki Troicki had a good Umag competition last year where he beat his compatriot Novak Djokovic on the way to a Semi Final appearance, but other than that hje did not make a impression on the main tour. As for Cillic, he started to make some progress and can start the season off well with a moral boosting win here. (Cilic - Best price 1.57 @ Boylesports) :clap Seppi v Santoro Fabrice Santoro is very muchy a veteran, but is always fit to take on anyone. He is still ranked inside the top 50 at the age of 35, and doesn't look to be fading away as of yet. I think he can easily beat 23 year old Seppi, who would prefer to be playing on Clay, but did start to show some hard form in Vienna towards the end of the year. But, I tink Santoro's expierince will be enough to get him over the line. (Santoro - Best priced 1.80 @ Partybets) :clap Johansson v Andreev I think Andreev is a very talented player who can play amazing, but he never really sustain this form and can play absolutly horrible on other days. I never have seen him play too well on hard courts, so I am backing the consistent and expierienced Swede to defeat him here. H2H is 1-0 in favour of Johansson and I think he can improve upon this record tomorrow, reason being the surface more than anything. (Johansson - Best priced 2.32 @ Partybets) :clap
3/4 for the 1st rounds. Andreev fell apart, was watching a bit of the match and he was having an absolute shocker, he just couldn't deal with the bounce of the surface. As for Robredo, he once again let me down as he always seems to do. Cilic squeezed through a tight 3 setter and Santoro showed why he is still playing at the age of 35, winning in 3.

  18. Re: Tennis 31st - 6th One name which sticks out for me is Marin Cilic, playing in Chennai, he finished the season with a strong St Petersburg Open and looks as though he could be a star in the future. He has a favourable side of the draw = (1st round - Viktor Troicki. Possible 2nd round meeting with - Nicolas Mahut, Possible 3rd round meeting with - Marcos Baghdatis, Possible Semi - Jurgen Melzer, Final probably Rafa Nadal) Although most of these are hard opponents, I think that he will have a fair chance against all of them and will definatly fair well against Marcos Baghdatis if he plays anything like he did last year. At 28/1, there is definate value in backing him E/W As for Adelaide Ernest Gulbis at 40/1 carries a lot of value, E/W he has a great chance of making the final and showed in the latter parts of last year he can be a problem for anyone, even Lleyton Hewitt who he could meet en-route. Ernest Gulbis to win Adelaide International, E/W - 40/1 (E/W 1/2, First 2) and Marin Cilic to win the Chennai open E/W, 28/1 (E/W 1/2, First 2)
