  1. Re: GAA Games

Lets not get carried away Pobby. Who have Cork beaten to reach the All Ireland final? Limerick, Tipperary, Louth, Sligo and Meath. No in my book not one of them is a top 10 team. Cork did not beat Kerry, Galway, Mayo, Donegal, Armagh, Tyrone or Dublin. The top 7 teams in Ireland in my book. Galway and Mayo in top 7 teams in Ireland-:rollin:rollin:rollin Galways last 3 defeats were against meath, Sligo and Westmeath for fkuks sake! Mayo couldnt kick snow off a rope. Meath, Monaghan and Derry are streets ahead of those wasters.
  2. Re: EDF Energy Anglo-Welsh Cup Final - Ospreys v Leicester (Sun 2:30 ko) I agree with the Ospreys choice. If leicester hadnt a Heineken semi next week , i reckon it'd still be pretty mucha 50/50 game given the quality in the Ospreys side. Only concern is their scrum, particularly the front row but conditions look today so the Ospreys backs should seeplenty of the ball.Ospreys +5 10/11 boyles

  3. Re: Irish Gaelic Games -Starts Now!

what odds were Waterford to beat Wexford? I was away last week so wasnt near a PC or bookies but I'd imagine they must have been about 8/1 at least??
i saw 8/1 m8 and was genuinely gonna do them as theyve improved a lot over the past 2 years -Cavan away last year when Cavan had to win to get promotion showed that, they also did ok against Kerry in the championship.Ah well-missed the boat again!
  4. Re: Magners Celtic League Betting Thread 2006/7 With Leamy now out you'd hve to fancy the Dragons at home- Chris Wyatt at blindside doesnt inspire confidence. Not sure about combines in January DAC but do agree with your selection and lets hope the good men of Newport enjoy their night on the town before returning home to beat up their wives ( well if you cant beat your sister, who can ya beat?)

  5. Re: Tennis Week 1

:lol .. sounds so. Murray is a good player, maybe the new right opponent for Federer but not 2007. 2009 or 2010 will be his time. With 23 or 24 of age. I must stake on Mirny. He´s good and have a lot expierence to beat the youngster from Scotland. ;)
Agreed. Mirnyi is a good player and am surprised he is such a big outsider. Definitely worth a bet
  6. Re: Henieken Cup Betting Thread... I fancy Ulster-3 to beat Irish. Ulster are a good side and the improvement in the Irish team this year is largely down to the emergence of quality players from this Ulster outfit like Bryan Young, Paddy Wallace, Neil Best, Isaac Boss etc. Trimble is back as well and I believe that player for player , they will have too much for Irish and will finally get an away win in England. Ulster by 9.

  7. Re: Champions League Tuesday 21 Nov

Can't believe the odds on Celtic :eek They put up a good showing at Old Trafford in the first fixture and they have an excellent home record in Europe over recent seasons, gotta have a decent chance of overturning Man U here. Need to check on team news etc first, but very tempted at those odds.
Agreed, Celtics home record in Champs lge is outstanding, Uniteds away recors over last 10 or 11 games is poor-theyve lost 6, I think. Only teams to have gotten anything off Celtic were Milan, Barca and Munich with Barca only team to beat them. Lyon, Juve and many others have been beaten at parkhead. that price is way too big.
  8. Re: Autumn Internationals - Rugby Union

cannot see anyone else getting near to 61 points like. The Scotland v Islanders game could be a high scoring game, but neither side will break 40 IMO. Going to have a another bit of Johnnie Beattie to score first, for the craic like. Can get 28/1 this week... get on!!!
Seriously shitting myself now- Scots are on course to wreck this bet...
  9. Re: Autumn Internationals - Rugby Union

The magic sign have now cut this (while i was writing) Now at 8/11
And again mate to 1/2... i got heavily involved at evens thankfully. Funny a friend of mine and I agreed when we saw it that the right price was around 1/2. Ya, roof being closed sealed it for me as the weather was one of only a couple of things which could scupper it, the others being another huge All Black performance and a lacklustre Welsh display. cant see it though fingers crossed as always...

    hahahahaha England 18-25 Argentina
_42304520_todeschini270gi.jpg Todeschini (right) scored 22 points in Argentina's famous win
England: (10) 18 Tries: Sackey, Balshaw Cons: Hodgson, Flood Pens: Hodgson Argentina: (9) 25 Tries: Todeschini:lol Cons: Todeschini Pens: Contemponi, Todeschini 5 England equalled their worst ever run of results, crashing to their seventh consecutive Test defeat in an error-strewn display against Argentina. Paul Sackey's try helped England to a narrow 10-9 lead at the break, but England looked far from convincing. Federico Todeschini kept the scoreboard ticking over for Argentina with his penalties and also raced in for an interception try as England toiled. Iain Balshaw scored from long-range, but Argentina did enough to hold on. For all the pre-match talk about results and performances, England produced neither in a desperately disappointing display which must further increase the pressure on head coach Andy Robinson. Argentina's ferocious pack made a mess of England's first scrum and scragged scrum-half Shaun Perry at the base - the first of several times the scrum-half found himself caught in possession. Hodgson's well-struck penalty gave England the lead, but the errors soon began to pile up for his side. Argentina's Felipe Contepomi levelled the scores within four minutes, slotting a simple kick from in front of the posts after England strayed offside in midfield. A straightforward up-and-under was knocked on by Ben Cohen, while Hodgson put his 22m restart out on the full as England struggled to find any kind of rhythm or structure.
_42304484_nunez203.jpg Argentina had too much for England at Twickenham
With the sense of frustration palpable among the Twickenham crowd, England finally began to up their tempo. From quick ball on the left, the ball flowed through the hands of Allen and Hodgson before finding its way to Sackey in space, and the winger produced an excellent finish to beat three players on the way to the line. Hodgson added the extras, to put England 10-3 up. If the Twickenham fans thought that would be the prelude to the stroll they used to be accustomed to, they were to be disappointed as Argentina's no-nonsense approach kept England pegged in their own half. A dreadful attempted clearing kick from Perry went straight up and straight back down again, and Todeschini cut the gap from the subsequent penalty. With time running out, Todeschini struck again from wide on the left to send Argentina into the half-time break with a spring in their steps. That spring lasted into the start of the second half as Argentina started much the better, and took a deserved lead on 43 minutes through another Todeschini kick. With England attempting to force the pace, the mistakes kept coming and it was no surprise when Perry was hauled off for Peter Richards after 47 minutes. Worse was to follow though, as Hodgson - straight after missing touch with an easy penalty - was also substituted to the cheers of an unhappy crowd. Hodgson's replacement Toby Flood, making his Test debut, made an inauspicious start as he threw an inaccurate pass which Todeschini intercepted before racing 70m to score. England were staring down the barrel and they again started to force the issue, with a Flood penalty bringing his side closer. Iain Balshaw turned on the style on 61 minutes, racing in from inside his own half to move to within a point at 18-19, only for Flood to miss the conversion. England continued to throw in unforced errors, and Todeschini was happy to oblige with two more penalties. The home side threw everything into the last 10 minutes, but basic errors let them down at crucial moments before the final whistle was sounded to a chorus of boos.

  12. Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 11th) Ya, I do agree that the Czechs are a must bet and if the conditions are in any way favourable, they have to be a very big bet. Ireland have been terrible for a while now and our midfield just doesnt count at any level. Throw in misfiring Morrison and Robbie handstands and I cant see how on earth we're supposed to score. That waste of space O'Shea looks like he'll be playing centre half with young McShane which doesnt augur well when up against Koller and Baros.Theres also the goalkeeping crisis with Given and Kenny out and from a betting perspective, I really hope to see Colgan in nets as he's looked extremely dodgy in any games he's played for us. The only reason the Czechs are such a generous price is because of Irelands previous strong home record(albeit mainly made up of friendly victories) and I expect the Czechs to win 2moro so long as they overcome what will surely be a high tempo start from the irish after that disgraceful effort they put in at the weekend. Also, one of the reasons why teams like Irelandor Scotland have beaten the bigger nations in the past is because of a hostile home crowd. I can gaurantee you anything but that 2moro nite and I fully expect the Czechs do a professional job and leave with the 3 points.

  13. Re: Ryder Cup (sept 22-24) hey guys i cant see anything other than a europe victory ,might go all in!any reasons to disagree are more than welcome. No way m8. The Yanks are up for this and i'd be all over them if I knew the weather was gonna be ok. They have better players,m a good captain and Tiger wants it this time. That said, there has been a lot of rain which is an advantage for the Europeans. How u can only see cut and dried European victory is beyond me. Small stakes on the yanks then. 11/8 ladbrokes
