  2. France-Poland Snatch has alredy made a preview . well , i'm looking forward to France vs Poland clash. on paper there seems to be one winner only. but i bear one thing in mind. many Polish player will be changing clubs in the winter break so they'll be up for it at St.Denis. Zurawski, Szymkowiak, Mila and few more will be watched by foreign scouts and managers. meaningles game? not for some though. Snatch has alredy made a preview so Poland +1 @ 1.9 might be a good option. we're not goal shy away from home, and Frenchies have more off-field issues to talk about.

    £110 on [email protected] £100 England HT/FT @3.1
although i won some dough and yes i am a happy bunny, i was well impressed by the way the Polish team played. they put up a good performance, especially first 60 min were very good. lacking skills were compensated by determination. but the own goal let the steam off the baloon. another thing i really liked was the commentators' knowledge of the Polish team and how well they pronounced the foreign sounding names. yes, they are tongue twisters but still the pronunciation was almost immaculate, big thumbs up :ok
  5. Re: ...

    (b) Hostile atmosphere © Injuries to the whole spine of the team
re (b) i've got more hostile atomsphere at my future in laws then the one Chorzow © you've got to be kidding. any sub from the English squad would make it into the Polish first XI. last significant (pointwise) win at that venue was before World Cup 2002, vs Norway /3-0, weakend opposition/. last two big games played in Chorzow vs England and Sweden( same style of playing), both ended 0-2. and yes, the same hype was in the Polish media and arround the team. especially the game vs Sweden was very painfull, cos all we needed from that game was a draw, first 5min of the game and ooops...we were 0-1 down. sad memories. we played England after, 0-0 in Warsaw. main conclusion? the stadium is jinxed ;) honestly if we get anything from this game, it will be a major surprise. just read that Janas, Polish manager, wants to play Kosowski and Krzynowek, both left wingers at both sides(!). the guy is crazy. they are meant to swap sides from time to time... geeez, there's one in -orm right winger, Gorawski, from Wisla Krakow. why is he not gonna start? :\ this is not Eurovision contest. England will get points here.
  6. Re: Poland-England to be honest i was pleasantly surprised with the odds provided.there's lots of hope in the polish media and squad itself. but let me just say,( i was in Belfast on Saturday) yes, we won vs N.Ireland but the result flattered us a lot. first goal in the 3rd min. was a fluke, curling shot from the corner, goalie made a blunder(he had sun shining straight in his eyes, to his defence) and hurrray we were 1 up. second goal simply proved the only way we succeed-counterattacks only-long ball from the back to the forward, shot executed quickly by Wlodarczyk, 2-0. third was scored again after the counterattack. forwards failed to place the shot, the ball rebounded to the incoming Krzynowek (MOTM) who nailed it in from outside the box. we played in the diamond formation, with Wlodarczyk up front. the guy is in form, proved it on Saturday, but his lack of international experience was proved when he got involved in the clash with the hosts' player and smacked him in the face...well, we won't see Wlodarczyk on Wednesday then. another thing that i noticed while watching the game, our left- and righbacks were sooo slow... if Irish wingers were being able to get through and cross the ball, i fear what pacey English players will do. if Eriksson saw that game, he should play S.Wright-Phillips from the beginning, with his pace and abilities our defenders will be huffin and puffin after first 30 min. provided England will not step off the gas pedal, Poland will not have a chance. what's more, we'll play in Chorzow, the biggest stadium in Poland with 45.000 capacity, but frankly i hate this venue. massive open air stadium, without coherent support and chanting. you're gonna hear lots of nutters with small trumpets that make noise, but do not help the hosts. even some playres were saying about that some time ago. as someone said-Polish team is too strong for the weak, and too weak for the strong. enough said. i placed to bets: £110 on [email protected] £100 England HT/FT @3.1

  7. Re: Albania-Greece have to agree with FA that Albania stands out a lot. there's no love lost between those two countries. at home Albanians are able to cause pain. Greece was underestimated before Euro, and so they are overestimated now. what does not help is the row between players and officials about not kept promises. they were meant to get E1 mil/head from the government funds, whereas the officials are ready to offer far, far less. so here we have motivation issue ahead of the first qualifier. to push for the result, Albanese FA promised the bonus of $500.000 providing they win. that sort of money is huge for the locals. money's not everything but sometimes it helps...

  8. Re: Polish squad Poland Tean A: goalkeepers - Jerzy Dudek (Liverpool FC), Tomasz Kuszczak (West Bromwich Albion), Artur Boruc (Legia Warszawa); defenders - Michal Zewlakow (Anderlecht Bruksela), Jacek Bak (RC Lens), Tomasz Rzasa (SC Heerenveen), Tomasz Klos (Wisla Kraków), Arkadiusz Glowacki (Wisla Kraków), Bartosz Bosacki (FC Nuernberg), Marcin Baszczyñski (Wisla Kraków), Dariusz Dudka (Amica Wronki); midfielders - Arkadiusz Radomski (SC Heerenven), Mariusz Lewandowski (Szachtar Donieck), Euzebiusz Smolarek (Feyenoord Rotterdam), Jacek Krzynówek (Bayer Leverkusen), Kamil Kosowski (Kaiserslautern), Sebastian Mila (Groclin Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wlkp), Damian Gorawski (Wisla Kraków), Mariusz Kukielka (Wisla Kraków), Marek Zieñczuk (Wisla Kraków); forwards - Andrzej Niedzielan (NEC Nijmegen), Maciej Zurawski (Wisla Kraków), Grzegorz Rasiak (AC Siena), Pawel Kryszalowicz (Amica Wronki), Piotr Wlodarczyk (Legia Warszawa). Jacek Krzynowek is a very good attaking minded left-winger. last season he played for then 2nd Bundesliga outfit, FC Nurnberg (sold during the summer to Bayer), where he was a leading figure. bearing in mind he's a winger, scored quite a lot of goals, took succesfully many penalty kicks. last weekend he experienced a personal tragedy. right after the Bayer-Bayern (4-1, good performance of his) game he got the news about the death of his father. the national coach let him leave the gathering of the national squad, saying that the decision about joining the team and taking part in the forthcoming game is his. he joined the rest of the team two days later proving that he's mentally very strong. i'm positive he'll take part in the clash vs N.Ireland on Saturday. if he will he's gonna go for the goal. he's currently priced @15 (first, last) and @5 (anytime), b365.

  9. Re: Poland somehow i cannot share your optimism about our squad, puchacz. although Polish national team can count on a decent support from the fans ( including me :) ) i would stay away from this game. N.Ireland are not as weak as they seem, conceded only 2 goals in last 6 games, and we simply suck. big time. as Danemark's coach said after they gang-banged us 5-1 at home: " you've got the players but you haven't got the team"... enough said. and a few days later we'll meet England at home in Chorzow. big stadium, which even when fully filled cannot provide decent support. Ericksson has been told to get 4 points in the next two games, and me thinks he'll be happy with the draw in Vienna... we're gonna experience the sequel, Gang-Bang 2... dont know the exact line-ups of the Polish team, 'cos we have some problems(injuries) so Janas, national coach, has called for replacements. even if we manage to get a point or three in Belfast, i'll go with max stakes on England in the next game. i haven't lost my national spirit, just being objective.
