  1. Re: Cardiff City v Manchester United > Sunday November 24th

Devils advocate here... United are short priced as: Cardiff are no mugs at home, RVP is carrying a toe injury that kept him out of hollands games, wellbeck has also got an injury and chicarito may or may not be back from mexico in time to be over his jet lag. The centre midfield engine (carrick, jones, possibly felliani) is missing as pointed out on here already, and with jones (and possibly rafael as well) missing from defence then Vidic / Ferdinand is possibly going to be up against the pace of either odemwinge or the ex-united (=highly motivated) forward campbell. Cardiff have appeared ready with a sensible plan for all their games this season, and have not been missing so much of their squad to internationals as united have. Not sure I'll bet, but I m thinking cardiff would be excellent value at 10-1.
Chicharito didn't report to Mexican team, the coach feared the crazy travel would've been less then ideal for the european based players.
  2. Re: November 4 - November 10 anyone else strongly fancy Ferrer over Berdych? part of me feels like Ferrer could tell early on he wasn't going to get the best of Rafa today and he conserved energy knowing he would need to return to the court today. the conditions certainly favor Ferrer and Berdych lost to Ferrer last couple meetings. odds on Ferrer look fair enough and im contemplating taking a strong position on the spaniard

  3. Re: September 23 - September 29 Venus overtakes Halep in 3sets. I think many others saw this match as I did as the price drifted from 1.85 all the way down to 1.6 at some places I observed. but man it gets frustrating watching these matches. Halep's serve was abysmal and even though she took the first set pretty comfortably, she broke Venus three times in the 2nd set only to concede the break right back and really should've taken care of business in straights. Took the early 2-0 in the 3rd period before succumbing her serve again, many of her lost points simply being double faults. I want to give Venus more credit but Halep, as the match commentator said, seemed to concede the match "on a platter". once the 1st set ended, it was as if she simply did not know how to serve. and surprising given her great form this year. I was going to advise laying Venus next round, but Bouchard could be a favorable draw for her. If she advances past Bouchard I will certainly be going against her, especially as it's been a very long time since she's had this much match time in succession. wta can be a frustrating beast, i tell ya.

  4. Re: September 23 - September 29 I must oppose Venus here in the shape of Halep, who really, has been in form for just about all of 2013. Venus got past Vika last round, but truth is Vika was sick/feeling ill and didn't retire as a show of class to venus. Next up for Venus is Halep, and the Romanian has been super consistent this year, especially on the hard stuff. and that's not something you can say for venus. if this was 5 years ago, Venus would be a serious favorite, now i feel Halep should be much shorter then this price. Halep at around 1.75-1.80 various places edit: venus looked like she hit amazing shots vs Vika, but this was very simple for her to do as Vika really had nothing on her balls.

  5. Re: Carling Cup > September 24th i strongly fancy the Hammers at 2.10 at various places, i do expect there to be a difference in quality between the two sides regardless of who sam trots out there, of course id like to wait for team news but afraid west ham will only get shorter. Im expecting cardiff to ring in the changes and they're performances in past yrs edition of this competition lead me to believe they wont fret bowing out during this round

  6. Re: September 16 - September 22 I'm considering a punt on Cirstea in her opening match over Goerges. If Cirstea wasn't coming in on the heels of a couple of questionable results, particularly that 2nd round loss to Nara, it would be an easier decision for me. But Goerges has been just dismal in singles all year and expect to see Cirstea go through. Does anyone know where I could see the press conference for Cirstea from after her 2nd round match? i just spent a few min looking for it and can't find it anywhere, thx.

  7. Re: September 16 - September 22 that may have been my cruelest loss in tennis ever, and trust me i know how volatile the circuits are, especially wta. partly also due to stake as I really did fancy Puig in this matchup. Puig was up 6-1, 5*-2 (30-0) and loses in 3rd set TB. She even led 3-1 in the 3rd set, but i guess the 19 yr old still has a way to go mentally to put it all together. ouch. Just when I had swore off the lower level tournies...

  8. Re: September 16 - September 22 I've taken Monica Puig to beat Vania King at 1.61 (topcat) King came through qualifying and played 3 consecutive 3-setters coming into this match, while Puig has spent much less time on court. Nice win over Jovanoski last night for King, but Bojana seemed to decide she was ready to go home early 3rd. Also would rate Puig as the better player at the moment tbh, and she should really be looking at this draw as a really good opportunity for her to maybe claim her 1st title on WTA circuit.

  9. Re: Serie A > Sun 25th August I fancy inter today, Genoa will be a relegation struggler this season and played a strong team in Copa last week and still got eliminated by lower division opponent. inter's preseason has given Mazzari ample time to work with his players and while still a work in progress I think they will have too much at home for what is really a bad Genoa team. Inter HW 1.59 at bet eagle

  10. Re: Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur - Sun 18th August tottenham have certainly strengthened the squad enough, and beyond enough if speaking solely in matchup vs Palace. Only question lies is if the squad need additional time and games before optimum results. Aside from the new boys in Paulinho, Soldado, Capoue, key cogs Kaboul and Sandro have returned from long layoffs. With or without Bale, i fancy tottenham team this year certainly being better then last year. Tough to predict how the very first competitive game for the lads will go though

  11. Re: UEFA Europa League 1st Qualifying Round 2nd leg > 10th - 11th July the one wager i took was on the Latvian side vs Prestatyn. Wasn't watching but I'm assuming once they went down to 10men the welshmen were able to capitalize and not only get a result, but force ET, penalties, and actually advanced. Cheers to those lads, judging from some tweets i saw, they've really made Wales and Wales football proud. Were Prestatyn advancing this round's biggest shock?

  12. Re: Wimbledon 2013

One that stuck out to me was Cadantu at 2.80 with my local bookie (who has inferior odds to most shops so probably slightly higher at most shops). She faces Tamira Pazcek, who by all accounts must have something going on. Is it an injury? Or maybe she's just lost a desire to play tennis at the moment? Cadantu is no world-beater by any means, but she is priced 2.80 vs a player who: is 1-13 in 14 matches played in 2013 and retired in 3 of those 13 losses. I assume the price is what it is because the Romanian doesn't have a win on Grass yet in her career (5matches) as well as the fact, surprisingly, Tamira made the 1/4s at last year's wimbledon. Her horrible form promptly started after that QF run. I guess Cadantu may not be worth anything more then minimal stakes as she has no wins over anyone to speak of but Tamira's points from last year have her seeded 28th and this could certainly be an upset no one would be shocked to see.
    Tamira's free-fall continues!

  14. Re: Queens Park Rangers v Fulham > Sat 15th December well I'll back QPR at 2.44 (wager hall) to get first win of the season. QPR have had some improved results under 'array and are unbeaten, 3 draws, and this is a Fulham team that hadn't won in ages, before the MNF win over newcastle earlier this week...and from watching that match I believe it was a flattering result tbh. Anyhow, great opportunity here for QPR and i think the odds are more then suitable.
