  1. Re: PLWSOP 2012 - Where and When should we host the event Organisers will have the actual numbers, but I'm fairly sure that, despite it's central location, Coventry in the early autumn got substantially less than Newcastle in the throes of winter. Comments from others about rewarding sites who have supported us already with online support are also important. In terms of poker room, DTD would be my personal preference, but happy to go wherever we get the best turnout and craic.

  2. Re: March Vegas Trip Two other useful sites for your list from a careful Yorkshireman: Trying for a room upgrade for only $20 - http://www.thetwentydollartrick.com/ - we've tried this each time we've been to Vegas, and been successful every time. Restaurant vouchers: http://www.restaurant.com/Info/LandingPage/City/LasVegas-Restaurants (type in the Zip Code of your hotel to search more easily, then type in the discount code "score" when you get to the payment part, to save 70% of the cost). For instance, pick up a $50 voucher for Michael Mann's Strip Steak at Mandalay Bay for $20 less a further 70% - so it's now only $6. You've got to buy 2 entrees, but that's no problem. Another example - pick up a $100 voucher for Pampas Churrascaria in Miracle Mile for $13.50 (minimum $200 spend). Other restaurants have similar restrictions, but if there's a few of you going, there will be something to suit. It doesn't include all of the finest restaurants in Las Vegas, but gives you a few interesting options.

  3. Re: GSOP Salzburg 23:05 - Level 16 - Blinds 2000/4000 Ante 500 And pop goes the bubble, with seven bwin Team members safely into the money and guaranteed to make at least €2,900 for their efforts in Salzburg! Unlike previous GSOP Live events our Team members never really had a sweat on the bubble as all of them had plenty of chips and weren't in any danger. Not only do we have seven of the 32 remaining players but several Team members have hefty stacks to wield when they return for Day 3, headed up by maxxll_1 (300,000) and BernieGrill8 (240,000). Play will resume at 1 PM tomorrow for Day 3 and as always the bwin Poker Blog will be bringing you all the action! 4. Re: GSOP Salzburg I think that Hen might be working, so I had a nosey on the Bwin site, translated from German, and found a little snippet about Richard, and these chip counts of Bwin players, which I think are from the from the end of Day One [h=2]22:06 - Level 8 - 300/600 Ante 75 Blinds[/h]From PLWashy there is usually not too much to report.

He maintains a very low-key game. More remarkable that he with about 40,000 chips at the table sits.

    His standards a huge stack for a start date. [TABLE=class: wp-table-reloaded wp-table-reloaded-id-28]

  5. Re: £2000 added Gala Leeds Still good value, but a shortage of dealers yesterday, so we were self-dealt for the first 4 levels (100 minutes+). A kind bloke from Merseyside volunteered, and he was offered a free meal for his troubles. Going was naturally slower than nomal, and wasn't helped when he got ambitious and started to peel off 3 cards at a time from the top of the pack for the flop - that was fine until he then peeled off 4, mixed them up, and no-one had the foggiest which 3 should be used :lol One of the Gala team came over and explained what to do, but that took about 5 minutes to clear. Said hello to Bob, who must be important, because he had a jacket on OVER his shirt and badge :ok Good to meet up again with Marcin, Mark and Donna, who were all very welcoming to my mate Adrian, whose first "proper" tournament this was.

  6. Re: March Vegas Trip Just putting the finishing touches to it. 95% certain to be going between 4th and 15th March, getting back home on 16th. Unsure about the extra for the direct flight, as we have always had a layover in the past, yet others say it's worth paying more for. Will probably swap hotels as Mrs McG likes to have a change after 5 or 6 nights. I'll post again when I know the intinerary

  7. Re: Super Poker Event of 2012 So, they're dropping from 4,000 players to 8 players in just 2 days - is it a Turbo Tourney? :unsure 30 minute blinds for a €349.20 (not forgeting the VAT on the fee) tournament with 4,000 players - it's going to be mad :loon At least there's no antes :ok

  10. Re: Pokerstars TCOOP (19th Jan-29th Jan)

I'm using my reload token today for the "250-seat guaranteed" satellite at 4.50pm today to event #16. Not the most generous guarantee: about 750 will qualify with the current number registered' date=' and no doubt that will increase.[/quote'] Managed to qualify for Event 16 ($55) by using my $22 voucher, and have taken 3 (or perhaps 4 :unsure) bounties, and now have managed to last past the bubble - guaranteed at least a further $95.58 :ok EDIT - and out in the first hand after the break AhKh v 88, AIPF, didn't improve.

Martin Sieder raises and Brian Martin shoves for 27,000 more Brian has been in three bet shove mode for quite a while, anxiously looking to maintain a playable stack and hopefully a double up The shove frequency persuades Sieder, playing 60,000 to call with A-7 Good call, as Martin has 9-10 A-7 holds, Martin is out and Sieder goes over 90,000
