  1. Re: U21 Euro Championship

Anyone else having a bet on todays matches????
I have had a small punt on the Dutch, as they are reigning champions, and hosts. Squad is a lot different to last year, as players like Schaars, Emanuelson, Hofs, Huntelaar etc have either been promoted to the full national side or are now to old. Still have enough quality in their squad and have a solid spine in Vlaar, Maduro and Babel (all who have full international experience), and also have a lot of players who are regulars in the Eredivisie. I am just hoping that Vermeer starts ahead of Waterman as he is a liabiity. Can see the hosts edging this 2-0.
  2. Re: Champions League Semi-Final 2nd legs Tues 01/05 - Weds 02/05

i think i am the first i suggested that we gonna have a repeatition of the Instabul thriller, it is written in previous threads go and read here i go on MILAN max stakes, full bank, why?? very simply i dont see any other result than HW, man utd is very good when playing at home, truly i give them NILE chances today, milan is definitely class above than utd, when i say class above, i have heavily in my mind what milan succeded in recent history of champions league, and what man utd did, also how much evergy man utd spent against everton -unbeleivable come back from 0-2 down to a glorious 4-2 victory-and all this scenario within 35 minutes of time! imo, utd is short of energy, while milan won comfortably against torino with alternative squad, Milan to win @2.25 on betfair maximum confidence bye bye boys
Sorry to burst your bubble, but no matter how confident you are with a bet, you should never put your full bank on. As a famous German legend once said - "The ball is round".
  3. Re: CL quarters first leg - Tue 3/4 - Wed 4/4 PSV Eindhoven: Gomes - Kromkamp, Da Costa, Simons, Salcido - Mendes, Vayrynen, Cocu, Culina - Farfan, Diego Liverpool: Reina - Finnan, Carragher, Agger, Riise - Gerrard, Mascherano, Alonso, Aurelio - Kuyt, Crouch AC Milan: Dida - Oddo, Nesta, Maldini, Jankulovski - Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Seedorf - Kaka - Gilardino Bayern Munich: Rensing - Sagnol, Lucio, Van Buyten, Lahm - Salihamidzic, Hargreaves, Ottl, Schweinsteiger - Makaay Podolski.

  4. Re: CL quarters first leg - Tue 3/4 - Wed 4/4 Valencia coach Quique Sanchez Flores has named an extra player in the squad that will travel to London to take on Chelsea on Wednesday evening. Fernando Morientes, Ruben Baraja, Edu, Reguiero and Gavilan miss out due to injuries, while the suspended David Navarro and Carlos Marchena take the number of absentees up to seven. Perhaps more significantly, they leave Flores short of defensive options, even though skipper David Albelda returns. With just Ayala and Raul Albiol available to fill the three spots - two centre halves and one more defensive midfielder - there will have to be stop-gaps solutions. That is probably why the young midfielder Miguel Pallardó has been named in the squad, along with youth team defender defender Nacho Insa. Flores is largely expected to start just David Villa up front, with Angulo just behing him, Joaquin on the right, and either David Silva or Vicente on the left. Albelda and Pallardo will start in the middle, unless Flores goes for a make-shift centre-half and moves Albiol into midfield. He tried Morretti alongside Ayala in a practice match today. He will also have to drop one player from his current squad before kick-off, likely to be third goal-keeper Mora. Squad Goalkeepers: Cañizares, Butelle, Mora Defenders: Miguel, Curro Torres, Moretti, Ayala, Del Horno, Nacho Insa Midfielders: David Albelda, Raul Albiol, Joaquin, Vicente, Jorge Lopez, Hugo Viana Forwards: David Villa, Angulo, David Silva. http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=270932

  5. Re: Euro 2008 Group E Mar 28

spgore my friend i didnt tell you that Andorra will score.. I didnt tell anything about that game..All already calculated three points to England here..It is just question of number of goals here..After 0-2 in Zagreb and 0-0 in Isreal, England team can be very efective here (finally against Andorra :tongue2 ) and score some goals..Remember San Marino-Germany 0-13...Something same can be heppened here...
Full agree with this. England DO need a performance, and I can see a high scoring game here. The players need to give a cracking game to the fans, especially after the awful recent performances. I think any unquoted score @ 1.78 is worth a punt.
  6. Re: Euro 2008 Group E Mar 28 I think a correct score holds value in the Andorra-England game, so I will have to disagree with you Robijas. I can not see Andorra scoring against England, but can see the English getting 3+ goals: Betfair currently have: England 3-0 @ 6.6 Any unquoted @ 1.78 The later is good value as it covers the 4-0+ correct scores. England know they have to give a good performance on Wednesday, especially with the group being so tight. An England victory looks on the cards, but the question is by how many goals?

  7. Re: Champions League 20/21.02.2006 Utd: VDV, Neville, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Ronaldo, Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Rooney, Larsson. Arsenal: Lehman, Gallas, Toure, Senderos, Clichy, Hleb, Cesc, Gilberto, Rosicky, Herny, Adebayor. I've layed the two home teams tonight, as both away teams are fielding very strong sides. Not convinced Lille are going to take the game to United, with their 4-5-1 formation, and can see them wanting a draw, and going for the result at OT. PSV have been a bit patchy in recent games, and missing Farfan is a massive blow imo. Wenger will want to get a result tonight, and that is reflected in the lineup.

  8. Re: Champions League 20/21.02.2006 Some info for those thinking about backing the Barca-Pool match: The following was reported by Portugal’s Record. It seems that trouble has a habit of following Liverpool around. Liverpool’s last night in the Algarve, where they trained this last week, was quite troubled. Several players were involved in shameful events that only ended when the authorities intervened around 4am on Friday. Acording to witnesses the players used the fact that Benitez had gone to Vilamoura to have fun. But some of the 15 strong group that went to Monty’s bar in Vale do Lobo got out of control. Beers were drunk all night and some players lost count of how much they had. To avoid trouble the British were “invited” to leave the bar, but this didn’t mean the end of the matter, despite the efforts by captain Gerrard and Peter Crouch. When they arrived back at the Barringtons apartment complex, the drunkest players (Dudek, Fowler and Pennant amongst them) damaged cars, electricity boxes and even the inside of some houses, by using golf clubs! The situation only calmed down when police arrived, during which time they had to cuff Dudek who had tried to headbutt an officer. While this was going on witnesses stared in disbelief. AND A FUN sing-song turned into a vicious punch-up as Liverpool ace Craig Bellamy saw red and waded into team-mate John Arne Riise in a drunken rage. The sensational bust-up erupted in the early hours of Friday at the team's Portuguese hotel after a marathon boozing session. An eye witness says the feuding Premiership stars: TRADED INSULTS during a bar's karaoke contest when Riise refused to take the stage, SCREAMED ABUSE as they faced each other toe to toe, TOTTERED back to their training camp base at 2am, FOUGHT in a hotel as Bellamy lashed out at Riise's £5 million legs with a golf club, until the pair were SEPARATED by head coach Rafael Benitez. The outrage has massive implications for both players and the club, who have just been taken over by new American owners. Tycoon co-chairmen George Gillett and Tom Hicks who invested £470 million were said to be furious that their name has been dragged through the mud just before a vital Champions League clash with Barcelona on Wednesday—their most important match this year. Insiders have predicted it could spell the end of 27-year-old bad boy Bellamy's career at Anfield. The astonishing incident kicked off at Monty's Restaurant and Bar in the upmarket Algarve Vale do Lobo resort where Welsh international Bellamy and Norwegian World Cup hero Riise, 25, were winding down with colleagues after five days' training in preparation for Wednesday. An inside source revealed: "There had been a lot of drinking and everyone was enjoying themselves. "But it all went wrong when Craig tried to drag John up for a song. "There was a karaoke competition going on, but John's a quiet one off the pitch and wasn't having it at all. "It started off as a bit of a lark with some of the other lads having a go but then it got completely out of hand. John went ballistic because Craig wouldn't take no for an answer. He was screaming at Craig to leave him alone, saying he wouldn't do it and yelling insults. "Everyone was completely stunned by it because they were really having a go, standing there toe to toe swearing at each other. There were about 20 players in the bar including all the senior guys, like Steven Gerrard, Peter Crouch and Dirk Kuyt. "They were warned to keep a lid on it and it appeared to calm down. "It was really late, about 2am, and the players eventually started drifting off to bed. But Craig, who was sharing with Steve Finnan, was so wound up he couldn't sleep. "He suddenly grabbed a golf club and went looking for John. And when he found him he waded in, hacking at his legs with the club. "All hell was let loose and John suffered a lot of bruising. Craig was out of control and shouting that John had belittled him in front of the lads." Eventually coach Benitez was called to separate the two stars. The boss was said to be horrified and called both players to an emergency summit after they sobered up. Benitez had plenty to worry about. Unconfirmed reports in a local newspaper said one footballer had also been handcuffed after allegedly trying to headbutt a policeman. And it was claimed other players smashed electrical equipment in the resort with their golf clubs. Staff at the four-star Barringtons Centro Deportivo hotel were ordered to keep quiet about the disturbance. "The players flew back to Britain on Friday and were trying to keep a lid on the shameful incident. But our source said: "With Liverpool just about to play one of the most important matches in their history this is the last thing they need. "The break was meant to be a bit of rest and recreation with light training to get the team acclimatised for the Nou Camp on Wednesday, but this fight has ruined everything. "It has heaped disgrace on the club when all the attention should be focused on what happens on the pitch. The new owners can't understand how grown men can behave like this. They believe the club's reputation is in the gutter and find it incredible that this should happen just before the Barcelona game. "If Liverpool lose the match because of this there'll be hell to pay." Riise's teammates are shocked at Bellamy's attack on a fellow professional and friend. A source said: "To smash a golf club into a fellow player's legs is unforgivable. "It's the worst place ever to attack a footballer. Damaged legs are no good to anyone in this business and Riise is known for his trademark blockbusting shots. "It's like deliberately trying to break someone's leg on the pitch — however cross or angry you are, it's a no-brainer. You just can't do it. "John was mortified when Craig came bursting into his room like that. Anything could have happened." It is not clear what punishments the players face. But hard-line Spaniard Benitez is unlikely to tolerate such loutish behaviour ever again and at the very least is expected to fine both men heavily. One insider said: "Some people feel it's time to ship Bellamy out so he can be someone else's problem." A Liverpool spokesman said: "We're not prepared to make any comment." How much of the above is true, is open to debate, but surely could have an impact on their match at the Camp Nou?

  9. Re: UEFA Cup Matches (Feb 14 - 15) I'm thinking of backing CSKA & AEK Athens tonight. PSG have more important matters to address then a trip to Athens, avioding relegation has to be the priority, and this is just an added distraction imo. Israeli sides do not travel well, and a trip to Moskva is the last place anyone wants to go to at this time of year. Would appreciate any teams news on the above matches.

  10. Re: UEFA Cup (Nov 2) In my earlier post I stated Newcaslte were without some key first team players in Martins, Ameobi, Rossi, Parker etc and you have to remember that Given is still out and he is key to their defence. On various sites they are also stating that some Newcastle youngsters are going to be given a start. I seriously can't see beyond a home win here. Palermo are worth putting in a double with another good home team in Ajax (who are playing a struggling Vienna side). Odds are 2.06 on Betfair and I've gone with that for tonight.

  11. Re: UEFA Cup (Nov 2) Some news for those thinking about backing Palermo: Obafemi Martins, Shola Ameobi and Giuseppe Rossi are all ruled out due to hamstring tweak, hip injury and ineligible to play in Europe (due to loan agreement) respectively. Scott Parker is also on the treatment table and Roeder has left Damien Duff, Stephen Carr and Celestine Babayaro back in Newcastle. Newcastle are woeful this season and none of the above are going to help pick up their season tomorrow night in a difficult away tie.

  12. Re: Champions League (Oct 31)

Levski will field their second goalkeeper, an inexperienced 18 year old boy with a history of receiving cheap goals from a distance. the regular keeper is injured. Mihailov, the son of usa'94 national keeper is blamed for the last draw, 1:1 in the domestic league. the equalizer was a 30 meter shot, not too hard to catch. Levski will be in big trouble with Bremen's forwards shooting from every position. i cannot see anything but an away win here. Petkov, the injured keeper is worth half the team, he saved the day many times in europe last season and this. with him the game would've been an unpredictable one. now i expect an early lead and 2 or more goals diference for the visitors.
Be very careful how you take this news. Nikolay Mikhailov is a good young keeper and very highly rated by scouts across Europe. Every young keeper is prone to one or two mistakes and Mikhailov is no exception. He will either have a blinder tonight (making you curse) or make one or two mistakes to let Werder stretch their lead. Be cautious with this news though as he is a good young GK. I'm playing with the AH tonight and doing: Liverpool AH -1 @ 1.70 (365) At Anfield they have turned the ground into a fortress. Their result at Villa from the weekend will give them a timely boost for tonight. I can not see Bordeaux getting a result tonight. They have lost 5 of their opening 11 matches and sit in mid table. Liverpool should win this match 2 or 3 nil. Werder AH -1 @ 1.52 (365) The news about Petkov being injured is not going to make me do -2 etc on the handicaps. The have a good young keeper how is coming in to replace him. I still expect a Werder win as they are one of the most attacking teams in Europe at the moment. Expect a tight match imo (as Levski still have a lot to play for) and it could end up 2-1 to Werder. If Werder play to their full potential though their might be a bigger score.
  13. Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 14th Sept I've been looking into the UEFA Cup tonight and I reckon Salzburg will beat Blackburn :-) Red Bull have taken them over and they now have Lothar Matthaus and Giovanni Trapattoni as the management team. Eight league games into the season and they are unbeaten and only conceded one goal! Add to the fact Blackburn have only scored once this season, not won and have never won away in Europe, it all points to a Salzurg win imo. You can also throw into the equation that the Red Bull Arena has an artificial pitch and that will give them an advantage and Blackburn problems. Salzburg @ 13/10 is a cracking price imo.

  14. Re: CL matches 12/09 Spartak will cause an upset tonight in Munchen imo. Bayern looked very poor at the wkend agaisnt St Paul and they had a full strength team out. The Russian season is in full swing and Spartak are having a terrific season. I can seriously see them causing an upset here and the odds of 8/1 are to big imo.

  15. Re: International Friendlies 15-16/8 Easy bets tonight with the Dutch:

No point in repeating what others have wrote about Ireland v Netherlands. The Dutch look good value for the win or draw no bet if you want to play it safe. I think another bet to look at for this match is Huntelaar to score first @ 6/1. I know it will be his first senior cap but at all levels he has played in he has scored. He netted 5 times in the summer when the Dutch won the Euro U21 Championship and he finished to scorer. His record last season speaks for itself (scoring a goal a game) and he showed against FC Copenhagen that he is still sharp by netting twice. Good value bet imo.
Most people would have got the Dutch @ 5/4 and i think Huntelaar first scorer @ 6/1 was silly odds consdering he is the best young forward in Europe. Nice easy money for me tonight :-)
  16. Re: International Friendlies 15-16/8 My post was not in reference to yours :-)

Yeah thats why I wrote on the start that other had done a better job writing it up, and basically I just want to tell that AH with -0.25 is a good choice. Since I also join the SP tipping competition, it require me to post what I post on sp.com, so thats why I post it here, its not bcoz I want to spam useless stuff. Sorry if my stuff on Nethernald vs Ireland is useless :P But once again I already write in the start of my write up its basically just the same sh*t as the other write up. Cheers
I tired to say that there was no point (meaning me) writing why someone should back the Dutch as yourself as well as someone else already had. Still think a Dutch win is on the cards and i have done DNB just in case the Irish frustrate them and i also put a small bet on Huntelaar to score first and also at anytime.
