  1. Re: UEFA Cup - qual - 1st leg (Tue 31/7 - Thu 2/8)

Don't usually touch accumulators due to being for mugs imo :tongue2. I may break my owns rules tonight ann have the following teams in one: Hadjuk, Brann, Aik, and Vojvodina @ 1.85 on Bet365. Does anyone have any team news for the above, or have any doubts over any of the teams mentioned above? Thanks in advance.
Didn't do it in the end as struggled to get team news :sad. Would have been third one in a row after my two CL ones. Oh well plenty of other opportunities esp. with French/Scottish leagues this wkend. Hope everyone else had a good ngiht?

  3. Re: CL qual - 1st leg (Tue 31/7 - Wed 1/8)

Just been looking at team news etc for the Salzburg and D Zagreb matches, and I feel they should both win, but with a slim scoreline. I don't think at this stage any team will rack up a cricket score, and I said that yesterday re Rangers, and that is why I took Zeta on the AH +2.5. The quality though does tell, and that is why there really weren't any shock results last night. I feel that Zagreb/Salzburg are at decent enough prices to back. Zagreb are off to a flyer in their league, and look on form, and they should edge past Domzale 1-0 imo. Would expect a similar scoreline in Estonia as well. D Zagreb @ 2.28 to beat Domzale Salzburg @ 1.78 to beat Ventsplis
Another successful night carried on from where I left off yesterday with CL games :nana.

Does anyone have any team news for the Rangers-Zeta match? Tempted to do Zeta AH +2.5 @ 1.98 on Betfair' date=' but need some news first. Personally can not see Rangers thumping them, and only winning 2-0 or similar.[/quote'] If only I had done the correct score instead of AH :lol. Still can't grumble :nana.
  6. Re: Tennis - Wimbledon

    R. Federer – R. Nadal Federer lost only one set so far on this Wimbledon and, in my opinion, mainly because he underestimated Fererro. Today he trashed Gasquet very fast with 3:0 showing who the king of the grass is. Nadal had some huge troubles in previous rounds. He leaded 2:0 against Soderling but at the end he managed to beat him in the fifth set. In the next round, he was down 2:0 from Youzhny and when everyone was thinking that his journey will come to an end, Youzhny got injured and Nadal fought back and trashed him in the next three sets. His progress on grass is evident, but still he is not playing great tennis on this surface. What I could see in previous final of these two players? Federer have fear when he is playing against Nadal, he was scared at Roland Garros, but today he is on home court, he is on Wimbledon, the place that he won last four years. He has amazing unbeaten run on grass and I find very hard to see Nadal giving a hard time to him today. Although Nadal beat him 8 times in their 12 matches, I think that this is the time the best player in the world to show who is who on the tennis courts. I think that Federer will give his maximum effort in order to trash Nadal and to revenge for his loss on Roland Garros. Although everyone thinks that Nadal will take at least one set, I believe that Federer knows his surface very well, and the factor revenge will have great part of this match. I think that is very possible to see him playing at his best, not giving a single set to his opponent. Last year’s final at Wimbledon, Federer won with 3:1 and I know that since then, Nadal improved a lot on grass, but Federer knows how to handle pressure and my choise for today’s final will be 3:0 for the King of grass. Pick: R. Federer to win 3:0; Odds: 2.30; Bookamker: UniBet; Stake: 2 Units
I will have to disagree on this, and I think we could see a repeat of last years final (3-1). Nadal is a fighter, and has proved that time and time again, I can see him getting at least a set today. Lay Federer 3-0 @ 2.12 Betfair.
  7. Re: Copa America 2007 Argentina/Brazil double is available @ 1.80 on Betfair. Can not see the Argies slipping up against Columbia as they are the strongest team in the tournament by a long way. The team last night was one that they could take to the World Cup: Roberto Abbondanzieri; Roberto Ayala, Gabriel Heinze, Gabriel Milito, and Javier Zanetti; Juan Roman Riquelme, Juan Sebastian Veron, Esteban Cambiasso, and Javier Mascherano; Lionel Messi and Hernan Crespo. If you look at their World Cup XI (from last summer) there are only a few changes: Burdisso > Zanetti Saviola > Messi Sorin > Milito Rodriquez >Veron Brazil were a tad unlucky against Mexico, and the game could have gone either way. Even thought their starting XI is not as strong as it could be, it is still impressive. Feel they will have to much for Chile.

  8. Re: Copa America 2007

Goal and FIFA do decent coverage of the competition' date= for the Spanish speakers or ones or want to translate CONMEBOL is very good. It seems like Argentina have announced their team for the clash against the States already. I think I might take Mexico @ 12.0 as their odds will shoot right down if they get a favourable result against Brazil (and escape their group). Can then lay to go in the green.
Eventually got Mexico @ 13.50 on Betfair, and at one point they went above 14.0! They are now 9.6 to lay, and that price will only drop.
  9. Re: Copa America 2007

Peru do not play at altitude, don't know where you got that info from? Lima is on the Pacific coast, surrounded by desert! Don't have fond merories of the place either :cry. Might go for over 2.5 goals in the opening match, as imo that will dicate how the tournament is to progress. Even though Uruguay are the favourites, I can see Peru giving them a real run for their money, as they have improved over the last year or two. Can also see the hosts opening with a win, ableit a tight 1-0 match.
Looks like I were more or less correct re Peru giving them run for their money, and over 2.5 goals. Peru deserved the win and Uruguay were just poor.
  10. Re: Copa America 2007

Uruguay Uruguay come into this first game of the Copa America with virtually a full strength side while Peru will be missing a couple of their better players. Add to the fact that uruguay have had some good lead up results to this tournament and Peru are playing away from their high altitude home, it points to a Uruguayan victory

  11. Re: Copa America 2007

My call EXACTLY - The Mexicans are vastly under-rated here. 12.0 is a huge price here. I cant even see why you would want to green after the Brazil game - I fancy them to hold out and I'd green when about 5/2 or 2/1 Remember that the top TWO from each group progress but also the best TWO THIRD PLACED teams so MEXICO are almost certain of a quarter final spot. That said, COLUMBIA @ 31.0 is a must under the same circumstances
Would wait until they get out of the group stage before even considering laying - can't believe the odds on them as I would say they have a good shot at winning the Cup, and have had a good warm up in Gold Cup. Columbia looks a good call as well.

  13. Surprised that the threads on the Gold Cup have dryed up since the group stages have finished! Semi Finals tonight, and two David vs Goliath matches: Mexico v Guadeloupe Canada v USA CONCACAF have teamed up with YouTube to provide a one hour daily show re the torunament - http://www.youtube.com/concacaf I have to admit I am clueless in relation to the Guadeloupe team: http://www.terra.com/deportes/articulo/html/fox408672.htm Probable Starters: MEXICO: Oswaldo Sánchez, Jonny Magallón, Francisco Rodríguez, Ricardo Osorio, Carlos Salcido, Gerardo Torrado, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Jaime Lozano, Andrés Guardado, Nery Castillo, and Jared Borgetti. GUADELOUPE: Franck Grandel, Miguel Comminges, Alain Vertot, Michael Tacalfred, David Sommeil, David Fleurival, Stéphane Auvray, Jocelyn Angloma, Lery Hannany, Loic Loval, and Richard Socrier. Again the Canadian team is virtually unknown to me: http://www.terra.com/deportes/articulo/html/fox408636.htm Probable Starters: United States: Tim Howard, Carlos Bocanegra, Oguchi Onyewu, Jonathan Bornstein, Frankie Hejduk, Damarcus Beasley, Pablo Mastroeni, Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey, Taylor Twellman, and Landon Donovan. Canada: Patrick Onstad, Ali Gerba, Andrew Hainault, Atiba Hutchinson, Ante Jazic, Patrice Bernier, Julián de Guzmán, Richard Hastings, Paul Stalteri, Martin Nash, and Dwayne de Rosario.

  14. Re: U21 Euro Championship

Hate betting on U21 games but I'll try my luck with picking some goals to be scored in England vs Italy. So what's the situation with these two teams - they both had a bad start, Italy lost with Serbia 1:0 and England played 'just' 0:0 with Czech Rep. So both will try to win tonight or they will find it hard to pass to next stage. Interesting fact is that in a friendly match before this tournament England and Italy played a friendly on Wembley and the result was 3:3! Well we shouldn't see so many goals today but I expect at least 2 goals. Too many games till now ended as Under on this tournamen tand I think it's about time for one to go Over, just like in Holland - Portugal yesterday. Two quality teams meeting so no fear of one of them playing all in defence. I'll LAY Under 1.5 goals, betfair @2.88. And LAY England aswell, betfair @3.25. I think Italy is better team here and they will search for the win more as they lost first game while England with a draw tonight could be satisfied till one point and then go all out on Serbia in last round. GL~
With Serbia beating the Czech's 1-0, it now means one of the above teams will go out. Don't think under 1.5 goals is a good shout, even though the majority of matches have been under 1.5 (lol).
  15. Re: U21 Euro Championship

    Just had a look at how many corners in each game: Netherlands-Israel 7 Portugal-Belgium 5 Serbia-Italy 5 Czech-England 5 Israel-Belgium 7 Betfair currently have 9 corners or less @ 1.74.
Currently no corners at HT, and it looks like it is heading towards a sixth under in a row!
  16. Re: U21 Euro Championship Don't know what I was thinking with cover yourself wiht over 2.5 goals as I forgot about the 2-0 result! Glad that match is now over, and i'm going to punish myself even more by watching Portugal-Netherlands. Surely there has to be more goals in this match, as a win would almost secure a place in the next round.

  17. Re: U21 Euro Championship Does anyone think that the general standard of football played so far is of a poor standard? Two goals in the opening four games is a poor showing, and I would not be surprised if we only got one goal in the Israel-Belgium game. If you had done under 2.5 in each game you would be laughing. I just had a dabble on draw half time result on Betfair, and I am very tempted to have a punt on the following: Belgium 1-0 @ 7.40 Israel 1-0 @ 4.30 Israel 1-1 Belgium @ 9.20 Could also cover yourself with over 2.5 goals @ 7.40

  18. Re: U21 Euro Championship Dutch 1-0 up thanks to Maduro. Seem to be in control of the game as well. Can see Portugal beating Belgium later tonight, as they have one of the strongest midfields in the tournament in Manuel Fernandes, João Moutinho, and Nani (some of the best up-and-coming players in Europe). Belgium should have plenty of support, but can see Portugal winning 2-1.
