Probably only Pennant make some difference but he doesnt play all the game. Rafael still using Stevie on the right. The rotation system may make them having longer time to adapt to the team. Do not forget the year when Liverpool won the CL, they are having difficulty in the group, game againts Olympiakos was a lucky one for them to get thru. Real Madrid in a easier group imo. The lost to Lyon wont be big deal, they simply have the quality to overcome other team. GL. -

Both of them are the biggest favourite to qualified in the playoff and everyone knows what kind of players they have and their strength too. New coach new style new players in Real Madrid. We see a more defensive play from Real Madrid under Capello. He has made the necessary changes to Real Madrid weakneses which is on their holding midfielder and center defender. Madrid have been using Hulguera a defensive midfielder for that role for sometimes and now with Canavaro in there alongside with Ramos, they are more solid now. Emerson and Diarra guarantee more solid defence from the midfileld now. A 3-0 victory from Lyon is hard to repeat imo. Offensive side, Real Madrid biggest improvement is with Ruud playing the center forward role now. With Capello favourite of Cassano playing at the back of Ruud, gives Real madrid a different kind of offensive option nowsaday. Raul has been use wide to the left and David bechkam remaining the useless Ring winger beside his FK and long passing. I see the same issue with Real Madrid today without a good winger that has pace to cause opponent playing wide on their flank (like what happen to Chelsea yesterday). Lyon has a group of nice offensive players too simply name them like Fred, Govou, Carew, Wiltord, Malouda... welll too many. Playing at home againts Madrid, they will push forward for sure. I'm not surprise at all, if Lyon to win again today but I do not see them to win it with style like last season. Againts a team improve so much on their defense, they need a lot more time and create more chances while concentrating on opponent counter attack too. Benfica DNB PUSH and -4Units on OVER 2 :wall :wallFCK -vs- Benfica Was it a surprise FCK in CL group stage?? Probably not as big as Levksi but still their lag of experience in big stage would be a huge handicap today. (A lot of ppl might just say they have won againts Ajax blah blah blah, but do not forget, Benfica won againts MU and Liverpool too) I have read a lot of FCK previous post how offensive they are and good they are in the Danish League. But, result said it very clearly. They have recorded some nice result but most of them are playing their road games.
I do not know why, such a highly rated team have such awful result playing in front of their fans. And now, they are in bigger stage playing againts Portuguese side at home. If they would to play offensively againts Benfica, I think that will cost them even more. Benfica always play patient games againts those giant. Their CL result speak for itself. Having see Manchester United and Liverpool face so much trouble againts them. Their counter attacking play was rather efficient so far, and they have the quality players like Simao, Gomez, Petit, Nuno that will give them extra power in controlling matches. Well, FCK will have Gronkjær available tonight, but Allback would be the major lost for them too. Btw, Rui Costa will be out from Benfica team too. Since FCK might be going forward to push for a win here and their offensive play might gain a goal too and I believe Benfica will score too and win the game. I do see some problem on the Milan back 4 during that game. That probably cause by lack of matches fitness and their age too. They are a bit slow to defend in counter attacking but still experience is their bonus. In attack, Oliveira is their best buy this season imo. He came off from bench and score a goal for milan and his pace and the way he dribble cost the opponent huge trouble. I expect him to be on starting line up today alongside Inzaghi. Well, their midfield quality as usual very balance nothing much to talk about those stars they have there. I have only seen AEK once on tv. Well, I think they are still huge underdog in this game. They started their league in 3 draws, scoring only 2 goals and conceded 2 and all goals happen in their road games. As a team that qualified in UCL, that doesnt looks as a good result either. I'm taking some risk here, Milan on AHC -2 @ 2.20 6/10 and 3/10 on Milan OVER 2.75 @ 2.03. Milan slow reaction from back four may have problem with counter attack from AEK today, I hope for a 4-1 result to happen. Cheers :) -

About this game in Kiev i am prety sure for under and that is really 10/10 for me.Both teams have to lose so mach in this game and both will be careful.In alst season we saw how tight games are when play two easteuropean teams..So results as 0-0 or 1-1 or 1-0 for Kiev are most posible here. Second i saw and understand that i made little mistake putting 20 units on almost same bet and income but i bolived in 1-0 for Kiev.. Latter i saw more nicely bet taking Kiev on -0 & -0.5 ah with 1.57 at betfair..That seems a pretty sure combination. First of all, you choose Dinamo WIN 10/10. When you choose this bet, what do you expect? Obviously you wanted your team to win and score more (well, could be 1-0 or 2-0 too). But, The second bet, you took UNDER 2.5 10/10 and the resoning because the away team can grab a draw or away win too. IMO, only 2 outcome you will win both the bets, thats Dinamo 1-0 and 2-0, if thats the case, what dun you place 1 unit on the CS, and get a better return? If you are telling me the UNDER is a cover bet, I have more doubt then. Because if the result is not 1-0 and 2-0 u are losing for sure in the end of the day. no joke thats 20units in a slim chance to win both bets, i think is not a good choice. Another reason why I wrote about the holding balls issues (probably i left out "HOPING"), is mainly due to Bremen offensive play too. We have seen many times how their beautiful midfielder creating chances, pressing game enable them to win againts the opponent in a huge goal margin. I'm not sure if I can call their midfield as one of the best in Europe, but certainly they have the quality to send the ball into the net. I was thinking, if they would have to make use of their strength in that role and since Chelsea is in a transition period to change style due to the new signing, they will have a good chance to have a lot of possesion in games like this. (Btw, having a lot of possesion doesnt means you will win the game.) A lot of times, open game doesnt give you many goals, since both side is trying to create chances and ball possesion becoming equal, the time pass too fast. SWP not even on bench and the 4 midfielder they use are Essien, Ballack, Makelele, Lampard, why are they using 4 center midfielder in 1 line today? Jole Cole on the bench. Typical winger in their squad only left Jole Cole and SWP, 1 on bench and 1 not there at all. Not sure whats the plan. Liverpool line up was even funny. 4-3-3--- Sissoko, Pennant, warnock Bellamy, Kuyt and Zenden No gerrard, xabi, garcia, hypia, gonzales. :(

This is one of the most offensive team around and this style will surely suits Chelsea! The hosts will have much space to use their midfields and passing the balls to Szewczenko - Drogba. Both strikers are in form, Szewa keeps attention of at least 2 defenders every game while Droga uses his strenght so efectively... Chelsea: Cech - Boulahrouz, Ricardo Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole - Essien - Ballack, Lampard - Wright-Phillips, Shevchenko, Drogba Werder: Reinke - C. Fritz, Pasanen, Naldo, Womé - Baumann - Frings, Borowski - Diego - Klose(?), Klasnic In my opinion, neither team will defend the draw so we will see an open game which will favor Chelsea. The defence of Werder is not too strong nowadays and with 3rd choice keeper it'd be even more difficult for the visitors. All in all, I am placing a bet on CHELSEA (asian -1) @1.78 -

That was good news that Frings and Borowski return to squad. I was thinking of Under 2.75 earlier but couldnt decide mainly due to these important duo into their center midfield. Chelsea have a lot of quality for sure. But, in the premiership they did practice using Michael Ballack, Lampard and Micheal Essien in the midfield. I see some problem if they continue to do this as they lost a lot of pace and power from their wingers. Last season when Chelsea was at the top, they have Jole Cole, Damien Duff and Arjen Robben switching as their wingers playing lone striker system was far effective that what they have now. Again, Lampard and Ballack seems couldnt produce the same power like last season. they completely lost their style on the flanks and that give the opponent easier defending againts center attacking. Even without their official line up, we see that they are short on the left winger, probably Ashley Cole will go forward more on the left and using SWP on the right. But, with this system, they will have to use only 1 striker either Sheva or Drogba. Anyhow, i see they have a lot of problem as they cant dominate the game anymore. Well, if we look at Werder Bremen side, i think with their brazillian attacking midfielder Diego, Frings and Borowski i see them have a bit of chance to hold the ball more. Diego is pretty effective in holding ball in the midfield line. So long, they can hold it for longer time, I see a low scoring game will happen here as Chelsea defensive line is pretty well established. I will go for UNDER 2.75 @ 1.85 (if this odds still exist later) - Medium stakeWerder is in no good shape but injured Frings and Borowski return.They were without them in the cup,still it was no 2nd team.Quality was good enough but they were simply bad.Also in league Bremen have not convinced so far.It will be uncertain until rite before kick off if Klose can play.Werder surely should not be underestimated but I don't trust them tonight.On the other side Chelsea to win is a bit short imo. -

I don't think the comparison againts Udinese is relevant here. Levski cant even score in Udinese, that show some defensive football when they are away from home in UEFA Competition. I do agree Levski always score in some UEFA games when they are away from home, but comparison Barca againts other team like heerenveen, Armedia, Udinese, Chievo is not relevant here. Somehow the class is different. Probably the nearest if you really compare that would be Shalke 04. In terms of class difference, i think this game is pretty huge. I dun fancy Barca will win 4-0 kind of result but to risk some units on Levski which they are so far from the gap to score goals againts the defending champion I think is hard. I have not seen how Levski playing to be honest, but i always believe, barca is a few class above levski. Againts the defending champion if they could put up a strong defense and didnt allow barca to trash them with big margin i think thats already a success for them. I strongly believe Barca will win to nil and with 3 goals margin at least :hopeI've not enough time to write a decent preview, but you should all be aware of the big difference in class between Barca and Levski. Barca should win this one but do not underestimate Levski - they are in great form and full of confidence. They have nothing to lose, they gathered experince in the later stages of UEFA Cup last year and I am sure that they will not choke at Camp Nou. Still Barca should be too strong and win by 2 or 3 goals - feel free to take home win if you like very short odds. Best value for me lies in Levski to score. "Barca not to keep a clean sheet" is available at Betfair at 2.5 (very poor liquidity though). The home record of Barca in the group stage of CL last season: 3:1 against Werder, 5:0 against Panathinaikos, 4:1 against Udinese (the same team that Levski put out of UEFA Cup later that season). So Barca kept one clean sheet in 3 matches last year, Levski has a decent creative attack so I would say that they have around 40% chance to score. Last season in UEFA Cup Levski failed to score only in one away match (against Udinese 0:0) but scored away against Artmedia, Heerenveen, CSKA Moscow, Auxerre and Schalke. And Levski looks stronger right now. Over 2.5 goals is also very probable - odds around 1.5 are low but still provide some value. Correct scores 3:1, 4:1 and perhaps 5:1 might also be played with low stakes. -
Re: Punterslounge IRC/Chatroom To manage a forum and managing a chatline is completely different things. I do agree with Uncoabis a irc chat is far important in a good forum like this. In fact, someone to write their opinion in the forum is totally different from what they are going to write in a chat. IRC Chat, would enable us to have more emotional moment whenever the match is going on. It is like a big family where we stay together and cheers together whenever there are goals. I think having the worried if chatline exist and members will not write in the forum is not true. Well, I think we wouldnt want to see in this forum where members keep on begging for goals or 111111111111111 xxx team. Thats looks very bad indeed. In a chatline, I would say, for those that actually watching the game, might give some extra opinion where a lot of members here are relying on live bets too. That would give more impression in putting extra $$ on certain team in live in order to extend their profit in the end of the day. I strongly suggest, if we could setup the chat channel and we will see if that will actually affect the forum or not for a small period. If there is any side effect, probably we can just close it for good. Please take this piece of advice and consider having that feature as add on tools for members :)
