  1. Re: UEFA Cup - (Nov 23) Very tempting bets this week. Will only put money on teams of which I know they'll step on the pitch highly motivated. For me that's AJAX, FEYENOORD, BRUGGE. Other matches are tempting as well, but dangerous. I feel, but I can be wrong, that this is the moment to raise my bets.

  2. Re: UEFA Cup (Nov 2) there's a lot of different opinions made, definitely for these matches:

    18:55Partizan Belgrade - Livorno 2.203.153.15plus.gif
    19:25Dinamo Bucuresti - Besiktas 1.703.354.90
THat's the main reason I want to stay away from them. No bets for me (or maybe just Livorno, because I like the name (just kidding)). One game stands out for me: Zulte Waregem against Sparta Prague. I can confirm that Zultes team isn't made of stars (some of the players still even had daytime jobs last season). They have a good, shrewd coach and they managed to win against Austria, but I don't think they stand a chance against Sparta Prague. Value is on the visitors. Same for Bruges against Tottenham. Tottenham will probably snatch the win, but odds are too low. BTW, I liked (and agree with) your post, Ringabell
  3. Re: Champions League (Nov 1) Milan - Anderlecht: don't think this will be an over 2.5 game. I'm an Anderlecht fan and I think I know how Les Mauves will approach the game. Probably in a 5-4-1 and counterattack. Anderlecht does not create that much chances in away games, since their midfield is lacking strength/dominance. Vanderhaeghe (36, DM) is getting really slow, Goor (33, AML) has had his best days, Bousouffa (young playmaker) is still looking for his best form and Frutos (CF) is out. I don't expect Anderlecht to score. On the other hand, I don't think Milan will score three. Just figure out what Italian teams do when they lead 1-0... -- defend their lead. And try to score a second one. Over 2.5? VERY risky. Especially at 1.67. I believe Lille will not lose tonight and will go for the handicap bets on Lyon and Real. Feel less confident about the Arsenal, Benfica and Hamburg game. Arsenal haven't been too convincing at home (as someone mentioned) and CSKA will go for a draw. Just like Celtic. Finally Hamburg is a wounded animal. I don't think Porto will win there. GL to all.

  4. Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 It seems we all enjoyed a good night yesterday. Good punting all around, with exception of ValenciaNo1. He should understand that people take this seriously. Copenhagen did not win 2-3 (as predicted by ValenciaNo1), and Anderlecht lost as well. So please show some respect for your fellow punters. For tonight's games I won't be putting in that much. I'll go for Liverpool and Chelsea though. LIVERPOOL: because they already start to focus on their European campaign. They just know that winning the league won't be for this year. There's some class difference between Girondins and Liverpool. They should get a win. CHELSEA: Am reluctant to think that the goalkeeper will make all the difference. Personally, I think that Barca will be more than glad to leave Stamfort with one point. Chelsea-Barca is always a huge battle. Mourinho will have his troops ready. GL to you all.

  5. Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 Anderlecht - Milan Anderlecht could nick a point here, but I don't think they're strong enough to win. I watched their game against Zulte-Waregem, and they struggled the first 15 minutes. But a draw is very possible. Saw that Lucas Biglia was @45 for first goalscorer. He's a defensive mid but infiltrates now and then. Has had some bad luck trying to score that goal, so maybe tonight. 45 looks like value. Put most of my money on Real though. They will hit back after Getafe. They're a top team. Those guys hit back. Good luck to all of you!

  6. Re: euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 7th) I am putting some money on Belgium here. Some pay 5.50 for an away win against Serbia. That looks like value to me. Belgium is not a bad team and they have a very shrewd coach (Vandereycken) who plays results -- loads of 0-1 wins in the past when he was a club trainer. That's why Belgium hired him. This will be a hard fought game, under 2.5.

  7. Re: CL matches 12/09 Chelsea game: I think you should ask yourself the question: what teams are hungry to win the CL? I feel that Chelsea will focus less on the league this season and will do EVERYTHING to get the medals in Europe. I expect Chelsea to win tonight. 2-0 / 3-0

  8. Re: Euro qualifiers - Wed 06/09 Belgian game: Pieroni to score @3.50 As mentioned before, Belgium missed its start, but their squad is decent (not super, but decent) and definitely better than Armenia. So why Pieroni? He's a finisher, good in the air. I've read in a Belgian newspaper that Belgium will play long balls (pitch is in bad condition and defenders are weak in the air). Taking all this into account, 3.50 for a natural striker looks like value to me, because Belgium will certainly score, maybe even 2 or 3 times. good luck to you all!

  9. Re: Euro qualifiers - Wed 06/09 Okay, I don't think we'll see FB and Robijas sharing beers in the local pub tonight. But it feel it's a bit unfair/childish to keep focussing on that one Owen and Beckham quote. Every post has value to me, it helps me make up my mind, and in the end, everyone can/must decide who to follow. So please, FB, don't take this wrong and reply with some fabulous punting instead. My thoughts on some games: - Bosnia is hard to beat at home. And Hungary do not possess too much class. I predict a win here, for Bosnia. - Ok, Belgium was crappy against Kazachstan, but they should trash Armenia to get their morale back. I have the feeling that many punters will play surprise bets (yes, there were some surprises on Saturday), but I can't see many of them happening. I'll play on Belgium 0-3 / 0-4 / 0-5 - To win: Russia, Italy (they're EAGER), Denmark, Portugal. Good luck to all of you.
